@DJBlack909 - Yes, Goo is dark. And your mind is so colonized. It's a shame! Here's something you would understand if you weren't victim of centuries of white supremacy - People come in all shades. Some are very light, others are very dark. One is not better or more beautiful or worthy than the other. Your colonized mind needs to get a taste of freedom quick and in a hurry!
Thats one watery ass chocolate milkshake and I wouldnt of brought Melanie anything either she forgot me well I forgot to buy u a milkshake lol . I still love the show tho
What a cool dad, wanting his kids to watch old school blaxpoitation films with him. I miss these shows so much. I can't believe it was only 1 season.
Nick kept it running for years w/it's popularity yet they never rebooted it. I wonder why, but surprisingly a lot of classic Nick shows were like that. Salute Your Shorts was only 2 seasons, Pete & Pete had only 3 and they ran repeats of both shows for almost a decade.
This was a good, funny show. I didnt realize it when I was a kid but it was nice to see a positive image of the black family. They didn't live in the projects. They had a nice house in a decent community. There was no absent father, the parents were married and had successful careers. They cared for their children and wanted the best for them. And they kept them in line and didn't let them get out of control. I really wish this show had lasted. It probably would've went on until 2000 or 2001.
@aproud1990skid Agreed. This was a great show. It would have been nice to see this show and the characters mature over time. I read that the producers were beefin about storylines for the show, and could not determine a direction for the second season, so the show was axed. I agree this was like a kid version of family matters. And it could have lasted till 1999 at least. but we will never know...

@aproud1990skid Probably 2001. Alfie would have graduated from high school, Melanie would have been in college, and DeeDee would be in high school.

@aproud1990skid Oh Yeah. This show basically told America that not all Black familes are fucked up!
DJBlack909 6 months ago 3
@DJBlack909 Not all Black families are messed up. That is also what we had The Cosby Show and Good Times for.
