Despite what some people will say, this is incredible. Yes, everyone has seen the Hare Hare Yuki Dance a MILLION times, but the editing in this is simply fantastic, even with so little material. The choreography and the "flappage" matches the song perfectly. Amazingly done. You deserve your award. ;)

Wow. I usually don't watch things like this nor have much of an interest in it but I must (and I mean MUST) say that this is incredibly well done. The syncing of the mouths to lyrics and dancing to the beat and/or rhythm of the music is so well done. The editing was also done well enough that it didn't draw much attention at all. As someone else has said, there is a lot of repetition but personally I didn't notice/mind too much and also real dancing often has a lot of repetition!

It's well synched, but it's all of about 30 seconds worth of footage replayed back and forth for 3.5 minutes. Seriously, that's just lame. I didn't see the other dance category entries at Otakon since it's so hard to get into the AMV contest sometimes, but goddamn, if this was the best one, the choices must have been scarce.

@Reogo I did try to mix it up so moves happened in different order, but I agree, it's not everyone's thing for the reason you stated. There were good videos in the category, but they weren't really dance OR upbeat enough by most opinions. They also seemed to rely far too much on fanservice/ecchi for the most part, which made for a cheap lineup. It made me sad, cuz I always look forward to that category too. But it's worth checking out the others anyway; they each had their merits as videos.

I had just stood in line for an hour or two to see the Hetalia premiere, and JUST sat down when we finally got in, then BAM, evacuate! XD

I caught the later showing at least... ^_^;;

Oh my god, I was there too! I started to watch Welcome To The Space Show, but got bored, thinking it was just a random showing, not the US premiere/only showing for a LONG time. So I headed out & went down to some area, but passed by the Hetalia people beginning to wait. I got there like 45 minutes later, & couldn't believe the line.

I was in the middle area, and had the PERFECT seat and BAM evacuate. But I was able to keep my seat:D

The thing that sets this video apart from every other Haruhi dance video is its level of perfection. All the moves are just so crisp and precise that I can't help getting excited every time I watch this it. I feel that the lucky star scenes aren't nearly as precise as the Haruhi ones, but this is still a great video. Oh and, the ending was a very nice touch.

While I thoroughly enjoyed this AMV, I'm not going to lie, the rapid transitions and rapid background changes at certain places ended up killing my eyes. Honestly, that's just my own weakness and not to down-play your AMV in any way. The way you organized the dance movements pretty much required that XD. *Thumbs up*

@Superstarsage Heh, oh man, I'm sorry that happened to ya. >.<;; I tried to transition the background more smoothly at a couple points near the end, but it was too difficult to keep up for the whole video, and most folks who beta-tested for me said that their eyes were fooled enough for it to work without me doing it. But some people have much more sensitive eyes I guess.

@acidragdoll Heh, well I wasn't going for creative, I just wanted to make a dancing-singing video (there aren't that many that are purely just that) with a song that I liked, and Haruhi happened to have a lot of dancing and singing.

Sometimes when ya make something, ya do it for enjoyment, not to make fine art. ;) Though if you knew the work it took to make the scenes flow together, you'd see I did a lot of creative techniques.

But that's ok, this ain't everyone's cup-o-tea. ^_^()

Most of the effort/effects are very hard to spot anyway, and that was what I intended so it would look smooth. As a result though, not everyone knows what work went into it. And not everyone will like it anyway. That's alright with me.
