Thanks for viewing. If you mean viewing it at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, it was easy to get close cause it is outside of the museum. Somewhat ignored by the Fine Arts Museum. Of course, the Vatican original would be very hard to see up close.
How did you get so close to it to take the video. I was there several years ago and took some still photos. I would like to get closer to take better photos. Did you have to ask the museum for permission?
I believe that this is an older replica, much much much older. He originally had his right arm missing, so there was much debate as to how it should be and for many decades, its been decided that his arm is bent back, not straight up.
Thank you for this movie. I used the movie to homeschool my children. Very good commentary.
But I ask myself why the artist of the replika has covered the penis with a leave. The original is not covered. Is it because the Americans are so prudish?
Thanks for the comment Robin. Yes we Americans were very prudish back in the late 1800's to the 1940's. I applaud the Europeans for be the birthplace of great art. The sculpture you see is outside next to a museum that celebrates European Art. The Legion of Honor.

Sorry I haven't answered my plate's been full lately, but the fig was added for the copy so as not to embarrass Victorian morals. Silly.
