Big mistake OZZY getting rid of Zakk Wylde. He was the best part of your band by far. It's all downhill from here for OZZY. It sucks for Zakk also because Black Label Society really kind of sucks. He is just a really weird singer. He needs to stick with just playing guitar and make better music if Zakk wants to sell any records. He should drop Black Label Society and create a brand new band with a good singer if he wants to sell a lot of records. He is waisting his talent in that band!

Ozzy and Zakk gave us great music for decades. No reason to trash either of them for the split. Both have never ending respect for each other, that is obvious. Zakk's blood clot issue (and it was pretty serious) took him off the bottle, off the stage, off the road, out of the weight room and (by some reports) kept him from showering regularly. Ozzy (or Sharon) says it was Ozzy going clean and wanting to avoid Zakk and his constant adult beverage that led to his dismissal. But Zakk was having his medical issues before Ozzy got clean. Maybe his hygienic condition was the factor and not the booze. Either way, Zakk is far to busy. He needs this more.
Change is good..No sense in comparing guitarists, it's just Gus.G's turn to play all of the songs Randy Rhodes, Jale E Lee and Zach Wylde wrote. After he does that then he can write some for the next guy to come along and play.
For anyone talking shit about Gus G, I saw him live with Ozzy a few days ago and he is fucking INSANE! His stage presence is great, and my god he rips the shit out of that guitar. Perfect playing, great at improvisation, perfect for Ozzy. Honestly I like him better than Wylde when it comes to playing with Ozzy.
....I have the feeling Zakk will be back. No dis to Gus he's a great player but these guy's are like family...regardless of how much you're different you're still family in the end....and Ozzy, Zakk, Mike, and Rob mesh together purty well.

@shredder1965 Ozzy is THE MAN but he surely needs someone who can stand next to him in the studio or on stage. All the guitarists he had so far, were completely unknown young guys with no former experience, who turned out to be great personalities-songwriters able to stand next to him. Yes, there is no doubt that the original lineup (and it WAS a band called Blizzard Of Ozz - not Ozzy's solo band)) was the best and the first two albums are untouchable.
After that, Ozzy was a solo artist with a rotation of different band members.

Wrong... The band was created as Blizzard of Ozz. The debut album was the band name/ Bob Daisley wrote most if not all of the words and R. Rhoads and Daisley wrote the music. Ozzy sang the words he was given. And sang them VERY well. Blizzard Of Ozz recorded the 2nd album (Diary Of a Madman). After the Diary album, Daisley and Lee Kerslake were dropped from the band, their replacements Sarzo and Aldridge were credited with being on the album and the band became Ozzy's solo band at this point.
You might be confused because of what the album said on the cover. After 'Diary' was made, Ozzy changed the cover of the album and threw his name across the cover. He also gave performance credits to Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge even though they didn't play on the album. Years later in 2002, Ozzy re-recorded the bass and drums parts to the re-release of Diary to again deny the original Blizzard Of Ozz members of royalties.. Look up Bob Daisley's interview to hear all about it. It's unreal.

@ltuomela You're entitled to your own opinion. However, the core of Ozzy's music IS the guitar. Randy brought the neo classical element, Jake the blues and Zakk brought more of a country approach ('chicken picking' for example). Also, the way that Zakk 'interpreted' Ozzy's older tunes (the ones he wrote with Randy and Jake) was essential to Ozzy's live gigs. All of Ozzy's guitar players had a certain 'feel' to their playing, and that feel influenced the music. His new stuff sucks...

In fact I dare say more technical thatn Zakk; however Gus would have been better off staying with Firewind and his other projects. The firewind material is far better than the material OZZ has been putting out lately. Lets face it some guys become past their primes, too lazy or rely to heavily on others in the imagination and songwriting department

Scream is the first album I loved since "Ultimate Sin" .... i don't know why, but never liked this guy Zakk Wylde and he's kind of racist person, isn't he? Anyway, Scream was awesome and while listening to the songs i felt i like I found the same Ozzy that I used to listen to everyday back in mid 80s. Gus G, good work dude.

i love gus g. i saw him live with firewind 3 days ago when they opened for scorpions . he is a really good guitarist, it's been a long time since the last time i heard such a great solos and riffs! they had some sounds problems but they were still really good! Keep on rockin' gus!

@shredder1965 Ozzy is THE MAN but he surely needs someone who can stand next to him in the studio or on stage. All the guitarists he had so far, were completely unknown young guys with no former experience, who turned out to be great personalities-songwriters able to stand next to him. On the other hand, Gus G's skills are (unfortunately) well known from FIREWIND.
By the way have you seen the videos with the young inexperienced japanese guy playing 'crazy train' live with Ozzy.....

Gus G is nice at guitar, but he should stick with what he's good at and stay in Firewind, he can't fill the shoes of 3 legends.
I personally would've prefered Jake E Lee to make a big comeback, probably would've tripled the album sales.

A far better choice for Ozzy would have been Doug Aldrich. Gus G is a punk. Actually so was Zakk"harmonics" wilde. They both suck. I can't believe Ozzy kept that Zakk punk around as long as he did. Ozzys band has never been the same without the original lineup. I love Ozzy, but he died when Randy died.

Yes, there is no doubt that the original lineup (and it WAS a band called Blizzard Of Ozz - not Ozzy's solo band)) was the best and the first two albums are untouchable.
After that, Ozzy was a solo artist with a rotation of different band members.

Wrong... The band was created as Blizzard of Ozz. The debut album was the band name/ Bob Daisley wrote most if not all of the words and R. Rhoads and Daisley wrote the music. Ozzy sang the words he was given. And sang them VERY well. Blizzard Of Ozz recorded the 2nd album (Diary Of a Madman). After the Diary album, Daisley and Lee Kerslake were dropped from the band, their replacements Sarzo and Aldridge were credited with being on the album and the band became Ozzy's solo band at this point.

You might be confused because of what the album said on the cover. After 'Diary' was made, Ozzy changed the cover of the album and threw his name across the cover. He also gave performance credits to Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge even though they didn't play on the album. Years later in 2002, Ozzy re-recorded the bass and drums parts to the re-release of Diary to again deny the original Blizzard Of Ozz members of royalties.. Look up Bob Daisley's interview to hear all about it. It's unreal.

@ltuomela You're entitled to your own opinion. However, the core of Ozzy's music IS the guitar. Randy brought the neo classical element, Jake the blues and Zakk brought more of a country approach ('chicken picking' for example). Also, the way that Zakk 'interpreted' Ozzy's older tunes (the ones he wrote with Randy and Jake) was essential to Ozzy's live gigs. All of Ozzy's guitar players had a certain 'feel' to their playing, and that feel influenced the music. His new stuff sucks...
