  • football so fun back then

  • 1:29 BEST

  • very good

  • What do you call an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman?

    The United Trinity.

  • Increible goleador, junto con Charlton y George Best eran unos verdaderos diablos rojos. y la cancion que esta de fondo genial.

  • Fuckin' unbelievable! This guy did it when the game was HARD!

  • best british goal scorer ever no doubt, shearer or mccoist couldnt lace his boots, dalglish, charlton, keegan, baxter and best were better players but law is the best out and out finisher britain has seen

  • TWIST AND SHOUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Scoring that Backheel in 1974 was the best thing he ever did sending the gloryhunting franchise down!!

  • Denis was ripped off by united ,never a big earner thanks to Matt Busby ( great manager but a hypocrite on wages ,he was on good money, denis and the boys weren't)

  • Calling Denis Law is a City legend is as ridiculous as calling Peter Schmeicel a City fan because both spent their last season when they had already been replaced in the club.

  • One of Scotlands best ever...he does not get the praise that he should.

  • There will never be another I loved Dennis Law and I am a true blue but overhead kicks headers left foot right foot - sheer class.

  • i uploaded the 57 fa cup final check it out

  • I have Law's autograph from the only season he played for us at Torino :)

  • Why are you raggin on Ronaldo? The lad was an absolute gem for United.

  • Denis Law was amazing, especially considering that he was never fully fit after sustaining a serious knee injury for Scotland against Poland in 1965. God knows how many goals he would have scored otherwise. He lit up any game with his pace, reflexes, superb ability to head the ball at pace, score with either foot. He was also a very unselfish player and had a great range of passing.

  • I love his style of celebrating. That one arm raised salute is so cool.

  • why on earth did you leave a liverpool band on a tribute video of one of the greatest ManUtd players ever???

  • @hyjnor Don't you remember that George Best was called the 5th Beatle?

  • I can't help thinking how brilliant George best was in this video. He was making mince meat of the defenders and putting in great crosses for Denis.

  • @chemdah Don't forget Willie Morgan. He set up 2 of those goals in the video. Another great who doesn't get the recognition he deserved because he wasn't as good as Bestie.

  • @veda1954 , willie morgan was ok but we needed more than him after we won the european cup in 1968, all summer 68 we were going to sign, ron davies, bobby tambling, colin harvey, mike england, geoff hurst and countless others we did,nt and we carried on with an ageing side and look what happened, 6 years later we were relegated and willie morgan was still in the team, he was overrated.

  • what the hell is up with that fans best utd ten

where the fuck NO 1 ????? Denis Law !

Who are these fans the prawn brigade ?

  • great compilation!!! :)))) grats dude :) suberb job :)

the only striker who could be close (if he would stay at Utd) to Lawman was Van The Man.

  • I love Denis Law. Red Army!!!!

  • Lol, he's a "City legend" for scoring a backheel which A) never actually relegated us like the Baby Blues like to tell themselves, and B) hurt him so much he retired.

Congratulations City, your best memory is a lie.

  • @Meteddica That is correct, in fact that back heel was the last time he ever kicked a ball in professional football. My mate picked him up after the game and told me Denis was gutted, and decided to quit there and then.

  • chicharitoooo numero 1

  • Can Chicharito be the new Denis Law in a few years more? I think so

  • The first King Of The Stretford End

  • He has an incredible precision !

  • Why do the commentators from the 60s have only one comment when someone scores? "Oh yes!".

  • He seems to be a happy simple man. Smiling after every goal he scored. No tricks, no fancy moves. Just simple play. Great man. Great player!

  • Notice how many goals were set up by Best? These were in the days before assists were documented. Be interesting to know. Everything aside for me Law's most amazing ability was to "hang" in the air as the ball for a cross. He seemed to jump before everyone else and land after them.

  • LOVE Denis...and I`m a Chelsea fan.

  • Hey stretford red, I think you're the one who should be embarrassed. Really wit a name like that you should learn a bit of reds history. Basically well said Razza!

I was at OT when he scored that back heel. He walked straight off down the tunnel almost ion tears. At least that's how I remember it

  • What is the irritating music? Is he berating his surgeon for a ham-fisted vasectomy? It certainly sounds like it.

  • Denis The Menace!

  • Love the way the copper applauds at 1:52

  • he isnt a city legend u stupid prick!

he only spent 1 year at city before 1 season at torino

then he was at united for 12 seasons (becoming our 2nd all time top scorer after charlton), then 1 last season at city which is wen he cried and walked off the pitch after scorin against united!

    A 100% UNITED LEGEND!

which is why his statue is outside Old Trafford!!!

  • @RazzaBeeDaSilva FYI, there are 2 statues of The King*, one with Best and Charlton out front, and another lifesize bronze at the back of the Stretford end, as it was the 'enders' that christened him.

*The King of the Stretford End

  • oooh yeah!

  • @StretfordReds lol your kinda stupid

  • There are not enough youtube vids about him, put more!

  • Twist and Shout. The Beatles. And I thought you twats hated scousers? Did`nt notice his best goal of the lot, the back heel in `74. HULG.

  • Comment removed

  • Man. I was born in 83 and watched all the old boys play from the 70s to learn and Law was one of my Fav players!!!!! What a king!!

  • Law had a bit of the devil about him, a swashbuckler and a pirate, Cantona was the same.Fans love that sort of player and probably why they are held in such high esteem at Old Trafford.

  • wow ,imagine if he was at the world cup? What would he be worth?

  • Sir Denis Law!!!!!!!!!

  • GERD MULLER 650 GOALS 700 GAMES ALL AT THE TOP LEVEL

  • Law and Greaves where brilliant goal scorers but look up Gerd Mullers scoring record

  • He IS the best.

I don't forget George Best neither Bobby Charlton.

    What a team that M.U. !

  • Comment removed

  • The ultimate predator. Fucking deadly and hard as nails too. That gripping-the-sleeve-one-armed-salute is still the coolest celebration on the planet!

  • Manchester have some good players like Law, Cantona, Rooney

  • 1:43 another great number 7 and 10 combination. ronaldo and rooney. beckham and van nistelrooy. best and law.

  • what a player!

  • Just finished his book, a great read! The busby babes were incredible! Law is such a grounded guy too, not like these petulant kids like CR9!

  • my name is denis yey!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't expect you to know this, because its forgotten by many over here too... but between 1960 and 1965 Denis Law was the same type of player as Di Stefano. You don't win European footballer of the year in 1964 without any world cups or European cups to your name if you are not special. Denis was special. You don't see that here, in fairness. You'd need to watch whole games of the time. Like I say, I don't blame you for your ignorance, I was the same for years.

  • no brazillian is like law he isnt a feeble weak player like most brazillians he could head the ball finish any shot and had skill NO brazillian has ever been as good int hat position even mr overated pele

  • MAradonna is better than Pele. stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

  • Maradona good Pele better GEORGE BEST!!! Dennis Law, George Best, and Bobby Charlton what a fucking trio good old Busby Babes :P

  • @ederss7 Fuck Brazil. The British league is the best to watch.

  • @ederss7

Its all good for players like Romario and Pele to say they scored over 1000 goals when they want to count stupid goals in friendlies, youth games and non official games, Bojan scored over 960 goals for Barcelona's youth team, you see how stupid your logic is now?

Simple fact is Best is only bettered by Maradonna and Dennis Law is the king of all goal poachers.

  • spot on mate

  • Zico was a mid fielder and he has scored 646 goals

  • Rmario has scored 1002 goals. He was better than Best,Charlton.C.Ronaldo,Dennis Law together. He has scored more goals than all them togheter.

  • @ederss7 it doesn't mean that he score more goals hes better tell him to come over united and see whether he still can score that amount of goals.

  • Backheeling utd to the 2nd div, classic

  • @dr34m

Indeed. Gotta luv the Beatles in the background. Now, where did they come from?

  • I'M SURE IT WAS LIVERPOOL

  • learn ur history mate utd were going down anyway

  • denis signed a large a3 size photo of himself celebritng a goal in that famous one armed salute of his at the memorabillia. it looks so cool. he was really friendly too!!

  • lucky to of met the great man himself. a true world class player, quite simply the king.

  • I used to go out with a relative of his. Never met him tho

  • The only one I can think of comes near his finishing ability was Ruud.

  • Ahh 2 of the 3 best fwds of Man United: Law, Best. (other is Cantona)

  • friggin quality, some of denis laws goals are brilliant. i think he is man uniteds second highest scorer of all time!!

  • denis law, george best and cristiano ronaldo: manchester U legends

  • @dinox87 charlton and giggs too

  • Denis Law, George Best and Bobby Charlton you mean?

  • you can take your ronaldo's, rooney's, drogba's and torres'

DENIS LAW would piss all over them

he is simply the best football player EVER

  • Three-time Ballon d'Or winner Johan Cruyff said in an interview on 2 April 2008, "Ronaldo is better than George Best and Denis Law, who were two brilliant and great players in the history of United."

  • and how much did ronaldo pay him to say that?

  • LAW - 404 games, 237 goals

    ROONEY - 274 games, 125 goals

    RONALDO - 292 games, 118 goals

He could have been a real old trafford legend like law, but once you leave a club like united it really is a long way to fall. Cruyff has no business talking about "the history of united" You really think ronaldo could cope with the 60s & 70s english style of play?? SOFT CUNT

  • You are completely right. And all the talk last night of Rooney totally leaves out the fact that Denis was heading a ball TWICE as hard. No one seems to talk these days about the beachball that has destroyed the skillful players game... any c*nt these days can do a 'Bobby Charlton' or 'Peter Lorimer'.

  • @squirrel7t7 .....Just another 'Day at the Office' for Denis @ 1min-15Secs... The guy was a Wizard.....

  • @malachy1847 Yeah, and thats on a bad day.

  • @squirrel7t7 56 goals in 58 games for Madrid says otherwise. Dickhead.

  • @niall29 And that makes him a United legend how? The point i was making was "IF" he had stayed at united he might of been one of the all time greats at old trafford and even come close to this mans record. So whats your point dickhead?..How does that say otherwise to what i said?? U dont make sense

  • @niall29

CR is a really good player im not going to deny it but look he takes all the free kicks all the penaltys every thing he will get all the credit you dont see messi taking all the free kicks i think he takes the penaltys tho i compare them because they are compared many times. Who gets more chances to score Ronaldo why because he wants to break the record for Madrids history all the other players did it without taking all the free kicks or all the penaltys check your history

  • @unlivable1 Why the fuck are you going on about Ronaldo. This is a tribute to a true legend - the King, the one and only Denis Law. The only player comparable with Denis over the years has been Eric - La Roi.

  • @squirrel7t7 fucking unreal fake!

RONALDO- 272 games, 137 goals. You're an asshole

  • @NoitesLisboa The Manchester United official website states he scored 118 goals in 292 appearences for us and dont get me wrong, i wish he was still at old trafford now but leaving for real madrid at the prime of your career isnt gonna make you a legend like Law & Giggs

  • @squirrel7t7 you are tottaly right man, the true passion of football is dead n gone players come in n go for more money n fame, if ronaldo stayed he would reach tht mark but rooney will reach it

  • @squirrel7t7 the general speed of play and athleticism of players today is superior to players of the 60's and 70's. If you could somehow warp time and transport Ronaldo back to the Law-era, he would likely score a brace every single game.

  • @atlscribe Ronaldo lost heart when the going got tough - FA Cup 4th round v Portsmouth

  • @ITW84 not just law it;s a legend...sir bobby charlton, sir matt busby, george best...

  • what a player.

  • It would be fascinating to know how many Law goals had G. Best assists.

    Law was an amazing goalscorer.

  • Watch my video of zoo to see stretford criminals following me too chester zoo.

  • Bil Shankly said on camera that Law was the best player he had ever seen.

I tend to agree (but Best was up there with him).

  • the "King" Law

  • The Legend That Is The Lawman

  • Stan Bowles was another.

  • Denis WAS the Law. I think the mark of him as a player is the number of players - his contemporaries - that idolised him, I read Alan Clarke, Rodney Marsh, Geoff Hurst among them. And I'm sure there were more. Chopper Harris rated Denis the hardest player in the English League that he came up against. Jack Charlton the same. The number of books I have that have players of the past praising Denis to the hilt is very illuminating.

  • Denis Law was the first player to bring showmanship along with his outstanding talent and fearlessness to the football world. He was selected and scored for the Rest of World v England 1963 and was European Player of the Year 1964.He should have patented the raised arm salute--he would have made a fortune. Also his first goal in League football was off his backside--goalie hit it against him from a clearance. Can't breathe near a goalie now.

  • Yeah, I read once that Gordon Banks made a save and went to lift his head to get up with the ball, saw a pair of bandy legs, and the menace was standing over him, and he snarled "Aye, Gordon... and I'll always be right here... just waiting". Classic.

There are great goals from Denis amongst the Match of the day clips someone was putting up several months ago, a wonderful half volley against Liverpool, I think. Someone should add them to this vid?

  • LegendFamily is right.People talk about the "Makelele" role.Stiles perfected that in 1966. England didn't play 4-3-3.They played 4-1-3-2: Line-up was: Banks

Cohen J.Charlton Moore Wilson STILES Ball Bobby Charlton Peters Hurst Hunt

Stiles broke up attacks and simp y gave ball to Bobby.

Incidentally Nobby played in back4 for United who were last team to win top division(1966/67) playing 4-2-4.

  • Exactly, and thanx for the kind words, BelleVue. Mostly because Ball used to get forward on the right flank so quickly, w/ or w/o the ball; a lot of people thought that the England 4-1-3-2/4-4-2 formation they were watching was 4-3-3 instead.

  • Brilliant

  • Simply the KING.

  • i love his celebration haha

  • If only Duncan Edwards(the best player charlton ever played wit) and the rest of the Busby babes had survived sir Matt wud have architected probably d greatest football team in the world Ever!! By d way just in case sum Liverpool party poopers have been leavin annoyin comments. U can compare king Law to king Kenny, Giggs to Rush, Charlton to Gerrard, Keano to Whelan or whoever ur irish legend was but Liverpool never hAd a player of the same calibur as George Best, possibly d Best player Ever!!

  • Too bad Tommy Taylor didn't survive to play alongside Law on the United front line, eh? Especially since Taylor would've only been 30 when United signed Law. Can you imagine opposition backlines trying to handle BOTH Taylor and Law @ the same time?

  • i remember watching Man u having to win at West Ham to win the league in 1967..didnt just beat them..took them apart 6-1..some fantastic players on show..Best,Charlton,Crerand,Moore,Hurst,Peters..but Law was on a level of his own..knew then why they called him the king.. i didnt support either tem but never forget that performance.. either

  • Man U have had the greatest Jock--Denis;the greatest Englishman--Bobby;the greatest NI player--George;the greatest Taff--Giggsy and the greatest Paddy--Keano.some coincidence there eh? Incidentally it took "King Kenny" twice as many international appearances as Denis to equal his goal record for the Jocks!!!

  • I don't understand why any idiot can give you a thumbs down. You are completely right. They destroyed any means of comparing the likes of the Portugese Ronaldo with the true greats when they got rid of a football and replaced it with a beachball.

I love listening to guys like you who've seen Greaves, Law, Best, in action.

I especially find with Man Utd, it intriguing to try and see what made Best, Law and Charlton so special, what their limitations were (especially Bobby) etc. Thanks.

  • seanreilly, I've already answered your questions on another thread or two. As far as Bobby Charlton's limitations: he wasn't the most physical defender/didn't like to "go over the line" in the tackle; however u want to look @ it. But, he was a master at "shepherding" an opponent w/the ball towards a more hard-nosed defensive player. Charlton & Nobby Stiles used to do this @ a master-class level for United & England time & time again.

  • charlton was not a defender i trhink you mean bobby moore.

  • No, I'm talking about when B. Charlton played in midfield & had to track back on defense. W/both England & United; Charlton used to "shepherd" attacking players where he wanted them to go so that Stiles could come in w/a hard physical challenge. Charlton did this w/other teammates, he & his brother Jackie did it w/England from time-to-time, but Nobby & Bobby were masters @ it.

  • I am really indebted to you for this insight, particularly regarding the shepherding; I get what you mean. You see, my source on Bobby's attributes is a brilliant, though confused one: Brian Glanville. Glanville called Bobby a 'brilliantly inconsistent' winger in '62 (whatever that means), and though he loved Bobby's natural ability, he said that he wasn't a truly insightful inside forward like Johnny Haynes. I guess he was an enigma, and yet how many who laud him have your insights? CONT

  • Thanx for the kind words, sean reilly. Like I posted elsewhere: Bobby Charlton has sperm in his sack that knows more about football than Glanville does. Haynes was more of a pure playmaker/passer while Charlton was more of an all-around attacking threat and the more dangerous pure scorer. They just had different styles and did different jobs for their club sides & England, RIP Johnny Haynes, Durban City LEGEND...

  • sperm in his sack... i get you... the Milburn blood, like a fish to water... and the goal against Mexico with his OTHER foot... like Stan M just a sui generis... and all credit to Alf for harnessing the pool of players he had to such devastating effect, Courage too... for what he did to Greavsie he may have done to Denis or George too if he felt he had to...

  • Sir Bobby has a thunderbolt of a shot, and as you posted he could score w/his right foot when the occaison called for it. More thoughts on the Ramsey squad & Greaves' injury in the WC'66 Finals to follow...

  • CONT: Very few, I would say. I think it would be very difficult to fit his array of gifts into any sort of 'all time' England 11, though I'm sure he could be fitted into such... but the specific nature of his gifts would have to be taken into account, and I'm sure you'll agree, they seldom are. Thanks once again: you're a STAR. And of course, I've always been intrigued by Denis because I knew he simply had to be more than a goal poacher to win EF in '64: never the same after '65 injury?

  • Goalies who would beat any in PL at moment are:

    Gordon Banks,Pat Jennings,Alec Stepney,Peter Shilton,Neville Southall,Peter Bonetti,Tony Macedo,Harry Gregg,Bert Trautmann,Kevin Keelan,Jim Montgomery Jimmy Rimmer,David Harvey.With modern traing methods,diet regimes ,pampering etc these boys would laugh all the way to the bank.

  • Who is daft enough to claim that goalies weren't as good as now.If you know anything about football you'll know that all we have now are a bunch of "shotstoppers" who do not command their area and are wobbly at corner kick.I followed United from 1962 to present and having watched Law in close to 200 games I can tell you that no one comes close to him as a physically brave goalscorer and showman. He could also slot into midfield if necessary.

  • whats the name of the song please?????

  • Twist and Shout...not sure which version...it's been covered by a lot of bands like the Beatles and The Mamas and The Papas...etc.

  • Anyone thats posting comments about anything other than the legend that is Denis Law deserves a Cantona style dropkick.. as soon as possible!!!

  • Great vid. Denis is the king.

  • I feel proud to be a relative of Denis Law!

  • dont worry liverpool fans maybe real madrid will save your financial crisis by buying torres for 40mil

oh and alonso and macherano are leaving this summer because they want to win trophys but dont worry you still have lucas HA oh and the fact you have no promising youth and financially are terrible my guess if that liverpool fc will be playing in the championship in years and rafa will most likely leave next summer when you finish in 6th.

  • 2:01 - Macheda vs. Aston Villa xD

  • law rocks

  • all the best players are scottish obv haha

  • the most famous Aberdonian ever!

  • I wish I had been alive to see the likes of Charlton, Law, Foulkes, Kidd, Best etc. But that's the way it is. Luckily we now have youtube so that you have at least a little material on which to create an opinion. Denis Law was obviously a fantastic finisher - but I have to say: I am absolutely blown away by the skill of George Best! He just seems to be on a whole other level at this time. Amazing!

    Thx for uploading this :-)

  • I remember one goal at that end.

  • Pure talented and whatnot.

  • Great Player whoever you support. Whats withall the foul mouth comments? It really does spoil YouTube.. I wonder if the 'Dirty Gobs' let their children read their comments....maybe they do, and so we have another generation of foul mouth yobs that can't write with very little vocabulary. .'.Hey look at this son, some swear words' ...derrr. I expect an unintelligent abusive response, come on then bring it on ..(yawn)

  • look it realy says suntin about how great a player the law man was when he played at old trafford at a time when we had great players like best and charlton, crerand ect and people referd to him as the king of old trafford, that says it all

  • Denis Law was my childhood hero. Remember the old City shop at Maine Road where somebody had graffitied Denis Law - King on the wall. Happy days.

  • Denis has two amazing records.

    1. His last touch in League football was a goal.

    2. His last ever game was his only one in the World Cup final stages.

He was also the first person ever to score in a penalty shootout.

He was also just great !!!!!

  • Very good Player!

  • As for trios, Souness, Hansen, Dalglish.

  • Great forward line.

  • Hansen could attack if he wanted to, Souness would leave Charlton on the ground injured, and Kenny IS better than Best.

  • Stop being a bitter Scouse cunt. Souness was never regarded as Scotlands all time best, and Charlton has always been regarded as England's best. England has had consiberably more success than Scotland. That says alot don't it. As for forward lines, Best on the wings, Law through the middle and Charlton bursting through... Amazing.

  • Why should i be bitter? We just won 4-1.

  • Why should I be bitter we are still top o' t' league, champs of europe , champs of the world and looking for out 4th title in a row. Yet you, this one victory is the highlight of your season? HA! Small time cunts!

  • Who's bitter now?

  • Okay then you daft Scouse twat. Why not just respect that every club has legends instead of coming onto a United video and critisizing our players. Do you see any Manc go on the King Kenny or Souness videos and critisize them. YOU CUNT!

  • Actually several Man Utd fans go on LFC vids and critisize them. Denis Law was a great player, i just commented because its fun arguing with other fans.

  • Who's bitter now. Champions!

  • 4-1.

  • Champions. 18-18. What ever happened to 'Come back when you've won 18?!'

  • I never said that. 4-1.

  • Okay. Who won the league?

  • A bunch of gay guys.

  • no, the best team in the world

    Manchester United FC

  • Best team? Who lost 4-1?

  • hahaha! thats all you can say? Liverpool won fuck all this season

Man Utd - best team in the world

    FACT

  • Did Liverpool lose 4-1 at anfield? Did one of our players throw a hissy fit when he got subbed off?

    I could go on forever.

  • no but your own goal master Jamie Carragher almost beat up his teammate

how is that for team spirit?

    Liverpool 1-3 Chelsea

    in the Champions league

    ouch

  • Atleast Carra ain't gay.

    3-1 isn't 4-1.

  • no, you're right

in the champions league its more like 1-6 because of the away goals

    thanks for correcting me

  • nice comeback. Carra may be the own goal master, but the donkey makes mistakes that someone like you would do.
