The large capacity 45's are good, but the amazing part is the dego's, wops and guineas shoot 3 million rounds, including machine guns, and kill maybe 5 people. Bruce shoots a few hundred and kills ALL the bad guys - most of them with 4 or 5 hits each.

Thell Reed was Bruce Willis' pistol coach for the making of this film. He's also the guy who taught me to shoot a handgun. I learned the 9mm M9 when I was in the Aur Force, but it didn't fit my hand very well and a Colt Commander trigger is a lot more controllable- they're not double action. Yeah, you really can use two handguns at the same time and get hits, but it's embarassing to run both empty at the same time.

this was one of walterhill's weakest movies. he and peckinpah invented the hyper violent genre. it just seemed like he  was trying to outdo his copycat john woo and his surrogate chow yun fat.

@ral008 The one he was using probably would have held 7+1. Now they hold 8 or 10, but you can still get the 7 round mag. This is John Browning's infamous 1911, probably in the Colt (or "government") platform. These pistols, as they were made back then, did not handle hollow point as they were not designed for it. But 230GR of pure muscle in FMJ was enough to put a hole in a person, and still is! Got to love em!

The ones back then were only 7 shot. Today 8 shot is standard with 10 shot extended mags and 14 round double stack mags available for certian model 1911's. This is a movie so of course he can fire 50 rounds without reloading. It's stupid but "FUCKING AWESOME" so I like most people overlook it buecause this is a great movie.
