@chibinissan E-manage Ultimate. Its a piggy back computer. What really breaks the transmission is the torque. Example.... lets just say you have a 300hp car but have 500ft of torque. That transmission will be stronger than a 500 hp and 300ft of torque. I'm running 450hp on mines and its important if you do drag racing to load the driveline first aka driver skill. I still have the same transmission for two years now with no problem.
He's absolutely correct about the RB Mafs. In Japan they even us the RB20 Maf on the SR. It's not as common as the Zed (Z32) Maf conversion but it's used nonetheless. Good job on that man.
Hi man, I have the same concern too, been hearing some stories of 6 speed troubles on high output engine on the Silvias. I'm just after over 300 HP to 400 HP at the very max, do you think the 6 can handle it or should I got with the 5? Cos I'm thinking about buying an S15 and it'll be stupid if I ended up with a SpecR and THEN have to swap the gearbox later on soon down the track because of damage. I might as well buy a 5-speed Silvia instead and spend big early on. Thank's in advance!
Street Racing, maybe drifting occasionally just for the fun of it, you know, weekend stuff on a nearby unused parking lot or something, nothing fancy, so more like burnouts really. Not really into drag.
It depends on what you are going to do. If you are going to build the engine hard core, then buy a 14 tranny just in case. You can relocate the speed sensor with no problem. In the 15 the speed sensor is in the diff and on the 14 it's on the tranny. Not a problem though. Alot of Japanese drifters use the 14 tranny on 15 engines because it's stronger and after much tuning the 15 tranny does has been known to fail. If you're going to mildly tune the car, it shouldn't be a problem.
you sound like Cleveland from Family Guy... well anyways your bright my friend. Let me ask you this.... is the 6 speed tranny week. Because I'm in the process of getting it swapped into my s13!
Nice swap but is it really worth it? Can't you get a neo rb25det for the same money?

every transmission has its efficiency range. How much power you want to put down?
