This is footage from Foreigner's "Live at Deer Creek" dvd concert. In fact, the first time I saw Foreigner performing live was on YouTube. And the song was "Waiting for a Girl Like You" from this same dvd. I liked the live versions so much, I went out and bought the dvd. It doesn't suprise me that they were amazing live. God I love Foreigner. But I guess that isn't surprising, considering my name.
@ivdavo pues por lo q yo leí es AOR por eso vi este video buscando bandas de este genero encontre su nombre entre ellos, pero no se si realmente sea asi
I never played sax or a reed instrument. What this guy does is maintain interest -- by his playing and his movements - in what is usually a boring solo on an instrument that usually doesn't belong in a hard-rock show. It's quite well done. The following guitar solo is dull and pale by comparison.
cool cat on the sax, Max. Good method while playing loud and commanding the stage, Cage. Manages to bring a long solo to a climax that, on first hearing, moves to the climax. It's like sex, the sax, Max.
This is my ALL TIME Favorite Rock Singer and Song. The Sax Player Scott Gilman must be the BEST to have run around playing this Solo LIVE and get it 100% right. He gets a Humble Bow from Mick the end - Quite fitting. I would have got on my knees
Why people would complain about a sax solo. This is the zenith of the song, the part everyone is waiting for. It was done so many different ways and was great each time. A great time for music and the band. One kick ass concert.
I always loved the harder edge Foreigner songs better than the softer ones that they started writing in the middle 80's.Lou Gramm was the best.Mick Jones was the one that wanted to record more softer songs.
@fritzietina you're a goofy bitch. how many times did jimmy page, jimmy hendrix, or stevie ray vaughan, or hell...stevie wonder for that matter ever play note for note the exact same version live that they did in the studio. if you expect that, go to a sax recital. don't look up rock horns players. thanks alot...i'm sneezing like crazy all over my monitor cause im allergic to stupid shit.

Okay, that is NOT a great sax player! How can you come in on one of the greatest sax solos EVER recorded and be flat on that first E note?! Hahaha! Sounds like an L.A. sax player all the way. And no super high F-sharp near the end?! CRIMINAL and WEAK!!!!!
@fritzietina Have to disagree. The sax player is bending the notes, which all rock instrumentalists do, so of course notes being bent are out of tune. This is very hard to do perfectly live and this player does a great job . In a studio, the producers have choices of multiple takes. Plus this live sax solo is 3x longer than the studio version, tough to sustain. This is not to take away from the studio version, which rocks!
@CaptainQueue I just want to say as a singer the vocal is equally as difficult. This is a challanging vocal especially if you have any intentions of sounding this punchy.

One of my favorite songs growin up. They still pull in fans by the thosands..check out their other vidio live from 2002..just a sea of people. And his vocals are still impecable!!
This has got to be the most annoying song ever .Foreigner made cliched k-mart generic brand of rock but they managed to rise above thier level of mudane and forgetable songs with this tune.It sticks in the skull like a cancer that has to be medically removed.
these guys rock, got so stoned in the 70s to this song, sometimes I would forget and Iwould bogart the bi g fat joint, back then we had em big as your thumb...
Just try singing this with the same intensity and power. Singers are the ones who can really apprecaite his unbelievable vocals. So many of his songs were balls to the wall.
The sax player on this hit record is the great "Jr. Walker". I remember around 1981 when these guys came back stage after our show in New York and invited us down to Electric Ladyland Studios's where Jr cut tracks for Ungent. Always loved this song. We did a remake of it. You can here it the Madonna Movie "Desperetly Seeking Susen". Sax player does a good job of copying Jr.s performance. peace Coolmix44
