Let this be a lesson to us; if you're caught in a rain of volcanic ash, with no way of getting out of it, you need regularly climb up on your roof to sweep off the ash.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the 3rd day so that all who believe on Him will be saved from Hell and have eternal life in Heaven. Call upon Jesus Christ and believe on Him for the free gift of eternal life.
@celticseahorse what do you expect from wayne brady? All he really knows about is singing and pimpin, naturally he would've forgotten about the weight of ash.
I just don'believe FEMA is this competent and well coordinated as portrayed in this drama. If they were THIS EFFICIENT all those people may have been saved after Katrina.
Remember 9/11 - the dust from those towers are probably going to kill more people slowly than what happened during the collapses.
I have to ponder upon if volcanic ash is any better to inhale - and wether the real number of casualties will reveal itself during the following many years. Seems very likely to me.
And then there, of course, is the extreme interdependence on international production and fragility of a superstretched food supply.
@DrStrangelife Nope, volcanic ash is very deadly if inhaled. Because its vaporized rock. It can get into your lungs and cut your lungs because its so sharp.
@AmericanAirlinesRule Well, its more like the ash is mixing with the water you got in your lungs (the water your body needs to function, not the one you inhale whlie swimming :-)) than the ash turns into something like cement. Of course you cant breath with cement in your lungs.
@XShidouHikaru If yellowstone really erupts then the whole U.S. will be covered with ash and probably if you have alot of food and water and under ground facility then you'll survive. But if you dont then you'll die.
@XShidouHikaru Simple answer? No. If the ash fall doesn't get ya immediately, the after-effects would. Mount Tambora in Sumbawa, Indonesia erupted in 1816. It was called the 'year without a summer', and there was crop failures ALL over the world because of weather disruptions due to its eruption. That was NOT a supervolcanic eruption. .
@1k2m3s: You're right, they're actors, and their director didn't really put himself into the scene (and his tech advisor was on coffee break). Simple cloth masks are often not very useful, but they are useful for dust and droplet filtering. For ash they would be ideal; it would have saved a lot of anxious coughing. They should have been de riguere.
In montana, or deirectly north of Wyoming for you couch potatoes out there, its called a shoulder.
Also, we have enough to worry about with war breaking out all over the world right now. This is worst case, which is highly unlikely.... all of you falling asleep and waking up with a penis or vagina where before there was none is more likely at this point. Lets hear it for overdramatization! Go media! Wooooo!
@princesssugarplumz i am a geologist and agree that it is unlikely that an eruption will happen in our time, but there are many signs that it will erupt, 1st of all the amount of earthquakes in the past 2 months in yellowstone in 500 earthquakes 1.5+ on the richter scale, second of all it erupts every 200,000 years and the last eruption was 260,000 years ago, third of all there is an average of 1 new guiser everyday wich is a sign of an eruption.
@epicfailfestival: If you really are a geologist, then you know that the earthquake storms that Yellowstone has been suffering the past few years are not very unusual; you also know that our database of knowledge about Y is only 130 years deep, so making predictions is counter-indicated. Your times are wrong; it's 640,000 years since the last major eruption there. Geysers are not indicators; they are too shallow, and we don't have enough data to know what they mean.
Actually, in the Midwest region, the side of the road is defined as "the shoulder". You do not drive on or pass other vehicles on the shoulder. So calling anyone a dumbfuck for calling it a shoulder, is very much inappropriate when the person using the term is actually correct.
Ahh, nothing like autos for mass evacuations. People can't even commute without snags, daily, in cars. Good thing there aren't any passenger trains worth mentioning in most of the US or Canada; they actually would be useful. The age of no alternatives; also good with airlines in lock down mode because of "security" from shoe bombers and the like.
Why the fuck is it called the sholder when it make sense to call it the side of the road on the first place. Thsese Hungarians are a bunch of nit wits. Are you from Alabama you dumb fuck?

actually, the bigges supervolcano is the La Garita Caldera in Colorado, it had 5000cubic km of melt and was the biggest explosive eruption ever in earths history...So yeah -.-

You are wrong about the saying that there's a Supervulcano under kreta. First of all it is not sure that there's is a supervolcano onder Greece, Second the volcano your talking about is not under kreta, But Santorini, also known as Thera, Thira, Fira etc. That Island was a vulcano Then it Collapsed when it erupted, It was A VEI 7, But They're Not sure if it could produce a VEI 8, Known as A eruption of a Supervolcano. yellowstone is NOT the only supervolcano. there's around 8 in the world and one on mars. but yellowstone is the most active. that's why they documented it.
Thta English woman should jolly well know that if she married a man of significance she has no right to worry herself over him. What you think a brave man would flee to have sex with his wife when he is responsible?
Oh, Bozeman is small, trust me. I was born in there and lived in Belgrade 'till I was about twelve, then moved here to Salem Oregon. Volcano and supervolcano are two different things. Don't worry, study your volcano... volcanos always errupt and damage one side, never both sides. Find out from what it did in the past which side it uses, and make sure you're near there if it starts to playup.
Also Hawaii is pretty safe and it's filled with Volcanos
Those are different volcanos. Those don't explode. In those, the magma travels along the ground very slowly. Like it's said in the movie, you could outrun it without breaking a sweat.
That's right. That's why you see people on Hawaii sit there and watch their houses burn during those lava flows. They don't even flow a mile an hour. They are very, very, very slow.
well actually sometimes the types of volcanoes in Hawaii do explode. but not like this one. they have fire mountains or whatever. it just lava that sprays into the air with debris for hours.
@Neithie There is three types of volcano. Normal volcanoes have a classic cone shape.
Supervolcanoes are very large volcanoes that they can only be identified from space/air.
Normal volcanoes eject millions of tones of ash into the air.
Supervolcanoes eject billions of tones of ash into the air.
Normal volcanoes can cover ash over an entire state.
Supervolcanoes can cover ash almost an entire country.
That's from yahoo answers. Also, supervolcanoes are underground so you wouldn't even know it was there unless it erupted.
