  • Let this be a lesson to us; if you're caught in a rain of volcanic ash, with no way of getting out of it, you need regularly climb up on your roof to sweep off the ash.

  • I hope the volcano doesn't erupt in my lifetime. I live right by Yellowstone.

  • @OwenTPW YEAH GO MONTANA!

  • @OwenTPW Well, if it does, you'll be one of the first evacuated, I guess. lol.

  • I love volcanoes and disaster movies and this takes the cake for BOTH categories!!!! Go Discovery Channel!

  • Why don't these 2 have an umberela or something. A bag or something? They knew what it was going to do, they should've covered their selves.

  • yay ASDA!!!!

  • need a military installation? there's an app for that

  • Ahh man i forgot about the roof well guess I'll just sit here and die.

  • Does an hydrogen bomb of few megatons of power could trigger that supervolcano ?

  • @jb0433628 DONT DO IT if you do the whole volcano would erupted in .0000000003 of a seconded

  • "This is what I call a GG"

    Good game??????? We're fucked!!!

  • A "Gordon Gecko??"

Bud Fox: Hey GG I see you made Yellowstone blow up.

GG: Yes, I needed a big diastet to eff someone who wanted to eff me, I'm WINNING!!!

  • "That's what I call a GG." ROFL

  • wtf? i think instead of covering my mouth ill breath in this lovely ash and suffocate so i dont have to face anybody about me being wrong

  • I like the laser keyboard. Didn't help him when the roof collapsed on him though.

  • its like, nick: YELLOW STONE IS ERUPTED, I'M GOING TO DENVER! ...what...

    Nick: ARE YOU THERE?

    ...nick?...

Nick: ARE YOU THERE!?(he hangs up)

for fucksake speak louder you moron!

  • maybe

  • The joke abut the queue was awesome. Fucking Britain.

  • a "click" is 1 kilometer.

  • I'm sure hoping the room service guy is still around.....about to die but thinking of his stomach....

  • @celticseahorse what do you expect from wayne brady? All he really knows about is singing and pimpin, naturally he would've forgotten about the weight of ash.

  • @keonisan that's not Wayne Brady....

  • This is corny sensationalism

  • No organisation not even FEMA could deal with this. And it certainly wouldn't be done by picture perfect actors like you see in this.

  • I just don'believe FEMA is this competent and well coordinated as portrayed in this drama. If they were THIS EFFICIENT all those people may have been saved after Katrina.

  • how many kilometers is a "klick"?

  • haha i'm watching this in science class. :] hehe just wanna watch this beforehand and finish the notes. xD

  • the reason that hawaii is safe is that it's lava is pretty liquid, there's no explosive volcanos, the lava is flowing constantly:D

  • Remember 9/11 - the dust from those towers are probably going to kill more people slowly than what happened during the collapses.

I have to ponder upon if volcanic ash is any better to inhale - and wether the real number of casualties will reveal itself during the following many years. Seems very likely to me.

And then there, of course, is the extreme interdependence on international production and fragility of a superstretched food supply.

  • @DrStrangelife Nope, volcanic ash is very deadly if inhaled. Because its vaporized rock. It can get into your lungs and cut your lungs because its so sharp.

  • @AmericanAirlinesRule Well, its more like the ash is mixing with the water you got in your lungs (the water your body needs to function, not the one you inhale whlie swimming :-)) than the ash turns into something like cement. Of course you cant breath with cement in your lungs.

  • Volcanos are truly the Devils work. But there's something so captivating about the glowing lava and so fascinating about the way they work. Strange.

  • Wow. Why did he just sit there and let the roof fall on him... Jeez couldn't he have stayed in the car? Haha

  • THis is cool and intersting... but kind boring after a while

  • to naithie they damage one side on a linear eruption, but the outcome might be different on a vertical eruption.

  • Sure put a plastic bag on a kids head lol

  • Couldn't the people in the hotel have taken turns shoveling the ash off the roof?

  • @Nhojekim

    It's called a docu-drama but really it's mostly drama :P.

  • The roof is breaking, I think I will just sit here and let it fall on me.

  • Are the Southern States safe from this type of disaster? Please respond.

  • @XShidouHikaru If yellowstone really erupts then the whole U.S. will be covered with ash and probably if you have alot of food and water and under ground facility then you'll survive. But if you dont then you'll die.

  • @XShidouHikaru Simple answer? No. If the ash fall doesn't get ya immediately, the after-effects would. Mount Tambora in Sumbawa, Indonesia erupted in 1816. It was called the 'year without a summer', and there was crop failures ALL over the world because of weather disruptions due to its eruption. That was NOT a supervolcanic eruption. .

  • yellowstone will erupt 2010. look the swarm at the begin of the year, heavy!

  • man the volcano is like a dragon lets use the empours way off saying it in oblvion

    close shut jaws of OBILVION

  • theyre not real scientists since they didnt cover their mouths while breathing.

  • @1k2m3s: You're right, they're actors, and their director didn't really put himself into the scene (and his tech advisor was on coffee break). Simple cloth masks are often not very useful, but they are useful for dust and droplet filtering. For ash they would be ideal; it would have saved a lot of anxious coughing. They should have been de riguere.

  • In montana, or deirectly north of Wyoming for you couch potatoes out there, its called a shoulder.

Also, we have enough to worry about with war breaking out all over the world right now. This is worst case, which is highly unlikely.... all of you falling asleep and waking up with a penis or vagina where before there was none is more likely at this point. Lets hear it for overdramatization! Go media! Wooooo!

  • @princesssugarplumz i am a geologist and agree that it is unlikely that an eruption will happen in our time, but there are many signs that it will erupt, 1st of all the amount of earthquakes in the past 2 months in yellowstone in 500 earthquakes 1.5+ on the richter scale, second of all it erupts every 200,000 years and the last eruption was 260,000 years ago, third of all there is an average of 1 new guiser everyday wich is a sign of an eruption.

  • @epicfailfestival well if it does happen in our life time, ill be on easy street, i may be killed in iraq the rest of you are fucked

  • @epicfailfestival: If you really are a geologist, then you know that the earthquake storms that Yellowstone has been suffering the past few years are not very unusual; you also know that our database of knowledge about Y is only 130 years deep, so making predictions is counter-indicated. Your times are wrong; it's 640,000 years since the last major eruption there. Geysers are not indicators; they are too shallow, and we don't have enough data to know what they mean.

  • 9:46

    welcome to hell

  • Wait a minute... why's a Renault got a Ford radio?

  • Actually, in the Midwest region, the side of the road is defined as "the shoulder". You do not drive on or pass other vehicles on the shoulder. So calling anyone a dumbfuck for calling it a shoulder, is very much inappropriate when the person using the term is actually correct.

  • "this is what i call a gg"

you got that right haha ):

  • huh what r u on a bout?

  • how much does Rick Leiberman look like Joseph Fiennes with a beard!?

  • Ahh, nothing like autos for mass evacuations. People can't even commute without snags, daily, in cars. Good thing there aren't any passenger trains worth mentioning in most of the US or Canada; they actually would be useful. The age of no alternatives; also good with airlines in lock down mode because of "security" from shoe bombers and the like.

  • if your gonna leave your car at least have the common courtesy to pull it over to the shoulder....lol

  • @vnck25 really?

  • Yes, you are referring to the human shoulder i assume.

  • In all seriousness and honesty, the side of the road is called the "shoulder" in some areas.

  • Why the fuck is it called the sholder when it make sense to call it the side of the road on the first place. Thsese Hungarians are a bunch of nit wits. Are you from Alabama you dumb fuck?

  • @tonip420 lol

  • @tonip420 haha and he forgets to close his cardoor to :)

  • @tonip420 Like it would really matter?

  • Klicks is a military term meaning "kilometers" or km.

Cool laser keyboard the guy had in the hotel. It's real also. Bluetooh for cell phones. Projects a red key board on any flat surface.

  • seems like richard leiberman would have been smart enough to filter his mouth with cloth at least ! ...

  • I wonder if "klicks" was actually in the script or was just a slip of the tounge. It would fit if it was an accident, a Canadian actor using a Canadian term.

  • yellowstone's pyroclastic flows are dangerous. will appear to the city and there will be many pyroclastic cloud that will erupt.

  • @painmadara2623: Ever encountered one? Neither have I. Yes, pyroclastics are dangerous, but everyone has picked them up as the serious bogeyman of volcanry. They are capricious; like tornadoes, you can't predict where they will happen. There are large ones and small ones, fast ones and slow ones. Some are hot, some are poisonous, some are smothering. same are all three. There are no major cities near Y; Bozeman, MT and Cody, WY. SLC is the nearest major city.

  • Comment removed

  • When Toba erupted, the ashes were so sharp that the animals who came into contact with, got small cuts everywhere and choked on their own blood (or so it is believed)

  • If I had a wife that whiney I'd probably send her across the Atlantic at the earliest opportunity too.

  • cmon man.....that guy was smart he shouldn't have died in that stupid motel

  • stop saying yellowstone is the only supervolcano cause its not its just the most documented and i think most active

  • lol, arn't they supposed to be dead just by walking around?

  • ya'll do know if this thing goes it'll cause the next ice age.....all that ash will block out the sun and though goes the warm climate

  • greenhouse effect......

  • actually, the bigges supervolcano is the La Garita Caldera in Colorado, it had 5000cubic km of melt and was the biggest explosive eruption ever in earths history...So yeah -.-

  • but its extinct now yellowstone is the largest surviving one

  • no, taupo, is active, toba could be active and tambora is active

  • woahh did it make everything extinct?

  • Funny.. they are running through the ash rain.. I hope they remember Pompeji, you got 3 breaths, then you're CONCRETE! and @georgyboy: Yes, there are others.. in the Mediterranean Sea. One under Naples and another somewhere Kreta.. and I don't believe the Alps would be high enough to block the flood. ^^

  • You are wrong about the saying that there's a Supervulcano under kreta. First of all it is not sure that there's is a supervolcano onder Greece, Second the volcano your talking about is not under kreta, But Santorini, also known as Thera, Thira, Fira etc. That Island was a vulcano Then it Collapsed when it erupted, It was A VEI 7, But They're Not sure if it could produce a VEI 8, Known as A eruption of a Supervolcano. If it can, Whole europa is f***ed Up. Peacceee

  • smilez yellowstone is the only supervolcano in the world. There are NO other places in the world that have volcanos that have 6 separate valves.

  • yellowstone is NOT the only supervolcano. there's around 8 in the world and one on mars. but yellowstone is the most active. that's why they documented it.

  • actually there are many, lake toba, yellowstone, la garita, galan, taupo, tambora, and many others

  • does anyone else thinks the wife is an ugly, irritable bint?

  • lmao! "Oh i cant believe i forgot about that"

  • cheyenne????? why did his GPS show buffalo? thats a few thousand Km away.

  • because there is a buffalo wyoming too. He was just zoomed out far enough to show nearby cities

  • Thta English woman should jolly well know that if she married a man of significance she has no right to worry herself over him. What you think a brave man would flee to have sex with his wife when he is responsible?

  • If it goes up we're ALL screwed -_-

  • yellowstone isnt the only place that could erupt! there are lots of places that could do this all over the world

  • yellowstone is the largest

  • no it isnt, toba is larger, and la garita is even larger still

  • I live in Idaho Falls...an hour away. I'm so BBQd!!!

  • Random question, what caused the keys on the computer to glow red and show through the cover? Just curious.

  • i think its the ash interring with the electronics

  • Dave noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!...........not you! :( sob

  • OMG DAVE!!!!!! nein my husband omg ;'( my lover...gone and i never got to touch him b4 he left it was all so sudden im all heart broken now :(

  • this stuff scares me im like nooooooo the volcano can erupt any day

  • bozemans hardly a small town

  • @Fstbrk57

Oh, Bozeman is small, trust me. I was born in there and lived in Belgrade 'till I was about twelve, then moved here to Salem Oregon. ((Belgrade is much smaller, though I'd call Bozeman a small city, and Belgrade a small town.)) And by comparison, it is rather tiny. But not hick town tiny. ((It is in fact, the fourth biggest city in Montana.... But even that's not saying much. xD ))

  • Dude where watching this in my science class and we live ner a volcano so this shit scares me...

  • Volcano and supervolcano are two different things. Don't worry, study your volcano... volcanos always errupt and damage one side, never both sides. Find out from what it did in the past which side it uses, and make sure you're near there if it starts to playup.

Also Hawaii is pretty safe and it's filled with Volcanos

  • Those are different volcanos. Those don't explode. In those, the magma travels along the ground very slowly. Like it's said in the movie, you could outrun it without breaking a sweat.

  • That's right. That's why you see people on Hawaii sit there and watch their houses burn during those lava flows. They don't even flow a mile an hour. They are very, very, very slow.

  • well actually sometimes the types of volcanoes in Hawaii do explode. but not like this one. they have fire mountains or whatever. it just lava that sprays into the air with debris for hours.

  • @Neithie There is three types of volcano. Effusive like Hawaii which is virtually just lava, explosive like Etna which is ash and very little lava due to high viscosity also produces high amounts of CO2 and SO2 and Supervolcano which is just a very very very bad version of explosive so about 1000 times worse

  • Normal volcanoes have a classic cone shape.

Supervolcanoes are very large volcanoes that they can only be identified from space/air.

Normal volcanoes eject millions of tones of ash into the air.

Supervolcanoes eject billions of tones of ash into the air.

Normal volcanoes can cover ash over an entire state.

Supervolcanoes can cover ash almost an entire country.

That's from yahoo answers. Also, supervolcanoes are underground so you wouldn't even know it was there unless it erupted.

  • @MelissaAnnLegard1989

Yeah, I know, I was letting someone know that they weren't sitting on top of a supervolcano. :)

Besides, there are ways to tell if it is there. It'll still have an affect on the landscape above it, look at Yellowstone Park for an example, it is so massive and hot that the land above it will behave very differently.

  • @Neithie

    Lol Hawaii IS volcanoes. :)

  • @Neithie do you know the stats on Supervolcanoes? its amazing- within 10,000 km all around 90% mortality rate, and europe's temperature will drop 13 degrees :/

  • @Neithie watch for those TSUNAMIS though shit is hitting the fan everywhere.

  • I fucked I guess. I'm gonna go buy an umbrella.

  • i hope this never happens in my life time..if not were all screwed

  • Yep... 75% of us will die from starvation. When it does go, let's be thankful for the time we've had.

  • what? what could this stuff be falling on my keyboard? "oh! i cant believe i forgot about that" so im just going to sit here for a few more seconds and let the roof cave in on me...

  • It's not like he could've gone anywhere. He'd probably already accepted his death and just transmitted as long as he could.

  • we will all be much thinner after this event

  • When you get the chance to get thin.

  • i bet you that after every volcanic vent opens, the entire caldera caves in finally the grand eruption

  • If this doesn't give you the shits....then props to you.

  • Some of the geography in this is way off. Buffalo is hundreds of miles from Cheyenne (where supposedly they made the emergency landing)

  • There is a Buffalo, Wyoming. Wiki never lies.

  • Like I said, it's hundreds of miles from Cheyenne.

  • While that may be... do you know how fast an airliner travels? It's not slow lol

  • While that may be... do you know how fast an airliner travels? It's not slow lol

  • I think around 500-600mph average

  • "This is what i call a Global Geophysical event" - GG.

Yea when that supervolcano erupts its pretty much gg...

  • wow!

hope this doesn't happen in my life time..

  • This is soo good been watching it in geog and couldn't wait to see the last part 5/5!

  • 5/5!!
