dont be stupid!V8 means 8 cylinders in V shape.we all know V shape gives better accelaration&torque at top hills and so they can hold same speed on hills without need to change down years.you havent probably tried scania poor guy.I have.My Dad started with 142 420 V8.the power was unbelievable at top hills.we owned it even till early of 2000 and we still kicked asses of volvos at hills.now with economical problems,we own unfortunatelly a volvo fh16 470.No torgue at all with 6-line.

  • does the power figure really matter? the volvo is overall a much nicer truck

  • A volvo é a melhor do mundo!

    e no Brasil nao é diferente,VOLVO a melhor!

    Brasil!

  • V8 engine by scania can't be beaten.. 3500NM and V8!.you cant compare those things.

  • @Seros1995 The Volvo offers more, while utilising less cylinders. Problem?

  • Does it have a straight 6 engine?.....

  • VOLVO = SWEDEN

    VOLVO best in the world.

    VOLVO FH16 750 , FH16 700 in Europe

    VOLVO VT880 , VT830 , VT800 , VNL780 , VNL770 , VNL 730 in America

  • Congrats Volvo ! I always like your trucks...and still driving one right now...Amazing truck. Cheers...Mike

  • Scania don't have strong inaf gearbox but when they do there will be at least 800hv version...

  • Im more impressed with Volvo getting 3550 Nm out of a 6 cylinder engine, than Scania getting 3500 out of their V8.

V8's really should give more Nm.

Talked to a Volvo mechanic, and he didnt understand why they didnt just make a 800hp straight away. It would not have been hard with that volvo Engine.

What they have done with this, is bigger valves, different camshaft, more turbo pressure, and diesel adjustment. And more cooling.

    Scania run warm, Volvo dont!

    They both look great!

  • It's only the broken compressor. 5 minutes later: It's only a brake sensor that broke .5 minutes later, just the air dryer. 5 minutes later: it's just the roll bar which broke .5 minutes later, it's just an electrical failure that stopped the engine. 5 minutes later: just .................. Volvo is currently only interested in selling trucks and very little interested in reliability.

  • If the reliability is equal to the VOLVO FM to make this announcement the truck broke down at least 6 times!

  • There's a Scania V8 in tanks with 810 hp... :D

  • wow

  • 5*****

  • Nice power, but the sad thing is that Volvo's are not as good quality as they used to be;-)

  • VOLVO TRUCKS POWER & COMFORT ONLY THE BEST WILL DO : )

  • FH POWER BABBY, SWEEDINS FINEST. : ).

  • Volvo FH16 750 = 3550 Nm and 750hp

    Scania R730 = 3500 Nm and 730hp

    the difference is minimal

  • @TheLPvideos1 The scania is only 730 hp for 150 rpm band in the top two gears only. because the axles and rest of the driveline can't take the pain. So whats the point if you only have full power once your cruising, the easiest bit!!!! Volvo is 750 hp everywhere. I spoke to the volvo man today when i went to see it. He was averaging 8.6 mpg with 44 ton. Plus the scania v8 requires so much more cooling.

  • @TheLPvideos1 yes but Volvo uses 6 cilinders and scania

    so 730:8 cilinders is 91.25 750:6 cilinders is 125

so when volvo uses 8 cilinders it is 125x8=1000HP

  • Scania will always be the king

  • Balaściak robi wrażenie :).

  • Scania R780 anyone?

  • V8 FOREVER!!!

  • Awesome

  • Zajebista maszyna :)

  • Is this the model that is being tested by Cootes Transport out of Brisbane Australia?

  • Whos the KING now??

  • @aid2003 Yeah, is Volvo!

  • and now prepare for scania r800..!!

  • Comment removed

  • @vasdesp

no it will be from MAN)))

  • Who will make the next strongest truck? Scania? Man? This is a funny race :D

  • Create a I-Shift video with this truck - and much loader please!

  • I guess Scania ain`t happy :))

  • @nevesu But they don't have to be sad. ;) That 50 Nm of torque and 20 hp isn't much. :P And Volvo hasn't got that prestige and assembling quality that Scania has. Volvo won't ever be as good as Scania is! :D V8 is the King of the Road, without the need for 20 more hp. :D

  • @zivaTARY Quality ? They won`t give you warranty, if you drive to Russia, that`s quality ? And who cares about prestige, truck needs to earn money. The newest R is good if you use in normal, European condition. But try driving into East or South, you will only got problems.

  • @nevesu "They won`t give you warranty, if you drive to Russia,..." What do you want to say with this? I just don't understand you. :S Anyway, I don't want to annoy you or any other person, I still think that Swedish trucks are the best. I just wanted to say, I prefer Scania. :) So don't be angry on me, please. :)

  • @zivaTARY Russian fuel is not good, and newest engines, just have problems with it (those are Common Rail, and injectors need to be changed very often). They can build a new Scania with 4 serie engine, specially for Russia, so it can run there. But if you buy a new scania, and drive to Russia, you lose your warranty, so when truck breaks down (even when it`s new) you need to pay for everything by yourself. Scania made great trucks, 1,2,3 serie were really great, but new one ...

  • @nevesu Okay, I accept this argument. But this problem consists at Volvo trucks, too, I think. Or not? Cause they also use injectors.

  • @zivaTARY A bit, but they can run on bad fuel for more, and you don`t lose warranty. But on other hand, lots of problems with new Volvos too, leaking doors, electrical things, it`s not so great either.

  • @nevesu I think Russians should use their Kamaz and Kraz trucks, mainly on the roughest terrains (for example Siberia). European trucks are not for that kind of weather, terrain, temperature, and so on...

  • @nevesu for countries in the Eastern, Southern are more use it cheap trucks as Iveco, Renault, DAF etc....Scania and Volvo is just for some companies with pretence...i dont want to say anything, but the technology come up very much and very complicate, the petrol is to finish and the engine more complicate, therefore we have problems with them. I like Volvo very much as design, engines, gearbox, but for bad roads is good a cheap truck, make same job as Scania or Volvo.
