maaan ... thats cool fish...but what cooler is ..the place where u keep it..is it natural cut or irrigation thing or a pond? how did u do that ?????? amazing looks very natural stream like
It's is a natural stream. That part of it, my neighbour has build a retaining wall from old concrete. The fish is wild and free to swim away any time it feels like it.
@ianab Those electric ones could be, but animal activists will always have something to say about it, even if they use it in the wild, even if 80 percent of their body is devoted to this function. Heck If I had 80% of my body devoted to a certain function, I'd better like to use it, because it's the most I have.
@Jakeequa lol a salamander is anything but a LIZARD. they are not related at all, salamanders are more closely related to frogs. some species have 2 or no legs and resemble eels.
How did I get from watching a video about earthquakes to lighting strikes... and now here? this does not intrest me at all.. now its too late to do anything else so im going to sleep :L
@ianab filllet and put him on the barbie so good! The japanese eat when the weather is hot suppose to be good for you. Not so good for the eel though. I have eaten they are ok.
Enjoyed the vid, thanks. Makes me feel better knowing some people are okay, someone called me mad just for feeding a pigeon today! (no real wildlife round here)
@ianab oh thanks mate ,europe that eels a monster ,99.5 have gone in last 20 years ,no one really can say why ,if we fish for them we all always put them back, bye now
@TEADRINKA lol ok i take i u dont like fishing lol and ur prob a girlly girl not that there anything wrong with that but hey everyone entitled to there own opion :)
That's pretty cool. You know they have two jaws, one inside and one outside. The one outside grabs food, the one inside brings it in, and they slowly bring the food in that way.
@kingofspinosaurids23 eels have very complicated lives and very mysterious ones too!! im no expert but they come into freshwater to feed before they go out to the sargasso sea where they breed. then they come all the way back inland agin up out rivers canals and into our lakes. they can travel across grass and dont have to b in water all the time, as sometimes they travel across fields to get to where they need to be.
It will migrate out to sea to breed one day I guess, and it's spot taken by one of the smaller ones in the stream We give it bits of chicken and meat offcuts, and whatever else it can find in the stream.
Its a small stream, thats about as low as the water gets in summer. In heavy rain it may be 4 ft deep there. It connects up to a larger river and eventually the sea. Eels return to the sea to breed, then the young eels swim backup the rivers. This is about 30 miles from the sea.
