@Chradnev Maybe, but most of the fundamental concept of 2001 were Clarke's doing. It was his short story that spawned the whole thing ("The Sentinel", I believe), after all.
@evilegg288 I mean that the cinematic form and imagery of the film comes from Kubrick, but it's true that some of the major concepts come from a couple of Clarke stories (mostly The Sentinel), and then the two used them as a basis to develop 2001 together.
Well that was an interesting (but comical) take on the movie. The animation quality is very good, and I have to say you did an excellent job modeling the Discovery's forward section.
Good video! I could rate it with 6 stars, but they would only let us rate it up to 5 stars. So I'll rate it twice (5 stars one time, one star another time), though there are a few things I don't understand about the video, like why does it say "In the time before monkeys" if there are monkeys there?
the one thing I hate about 2001 is that it makes no sense! I read the back of the case and it said, the more you see it, the more you'll understand it. I don't know about everyone else, but if I have to watch a movie more than once to get the point-forget it!
Dude, I love that you animated the faces. This was great. LOL

Yep, that about sums up to entire movie! Now, how about a playful poke at "Silent Running" or "Blackhole"? Tron could use a good spoofing as well!

I wonder what Arthur C. Clarke himself would make of this?
evilegg288 3 years ago 8
Yeah... :-)
ZemplinTemplar 3 years ago
@evilegg288 Kubrick has a lot more to do with the stuff being parodied here than Arthur C. Clarke. Clarke himself has indicated that.
