A Captain CAN'T follow ANYONE's "instructions" he's got to follow SOLAS* regulations. He's the ULTIMATE authority on board. An nobody can tell him how to do his job

He was showing off and he drove the boat too close to shore. Obviously if the boat had sunk in the middle of the ocean more people would have died. But you have to study each accident for what it is. In this case, the captain was directly at fault. He is responsible for the deaths.

I live in California and drive an RV. There's lots of free rest stops on the freeways. And freeways most definitely do not end without warning... If you do the slightest bit of research and find a national forest or recreation area you can even camp for long periods for free.

@6of6 In texas they have road stops every 10 miles out of town they have fresh water and sewage for are RV no charge They have restrooms If your tired you can sleep at the rest stop for 48 hours no questions asked you have a highway patrolmen check on the place for safety.
