Mariah Carey has an absolutely wonderful voice. She is an alto with a 3 octave range. Her rendition is done as an alto in a gospel style. I know of no one who does it like she can. Celine Dion is singing this as a mezzo soprano who has the depth of and the bass of an alto but hits and holds notes like no soprano on the planet There is no booming choir behind Celine to carry the song. Her voice stands alone and needs NO back up. SHE IS AMAZING!!! In a class alone and separate from all the rest.

The really beautiful parts are the high parts at 4:08 and 4:29. The rest is mediocre for Celine at least. But it must have been a weird voice day for here, because I just watched her singing Titanic live and it was flawless with the subtleties and beauty, tone etc flow throughout.
