DDrum is a year company and see whats in store in the next few years ? I have there Ash 24x20 double bass set and stopped making them ( so I'm holding on to them for a while)
all our custom drums get high dollar heads and have put 4 or 5 heads on a snare till I liked the sound , from clear or coated pinstriped to evans with muffle sound rings , ect ect , but DDRUM has there heads made to keep cost down on production drum sets.
I really think ddrum needs to expand their marketing outside of the metal/hard rock scene. I play a Reflex kit and a ddrum Dios Maple snare in an Indie rock band and I get tons of compliments at Indie venues on how this kit sounds. I have the toms tuned a bit high and I was skeptical at first since this kit is primarily marketed as a rock kit but I ended up absolutely loving the sound. Just a suggestion for the marketing guys at ddrum.
@dpdrums78 seriously? dude, if you asked a question 2 months ago and wonder why no-one ever answered you is because if you gotta computer and have the time to look and ask questions on you-tube than you most certainly have the strength to visit DDrums web address! say what you will but your a dumbass!
Doesnt sound bad, although i use Mapex, i would never go with DDrum. That kit sounds good, but most are made very very cheap. Dave Lombardo used DDrum and went back to Tama, i saw him play quite a few times and almost destroy the kit, it was shaking so much i thought it would collapse. lol
I don't understand why ddum is so insistent on showing us these drums with the stock heads on them. I understand it's to keep price on both ends of the sale down, but I think coated over clear ambassadors would make a world of difference in these demos and probably move more kits.
@ddrumofficial I appreciate your reply. Is it against advertisement (bait and switch) laws to show them in these videos with different heads? Or is it a brand integrity thing? Personally, I would advertise the best possible sound I could get out of my product. It isn't a stretch to assume that drummers are going to replace their drumheads close to immediately, if cheap (sorry!) stock heads are included. By the way, I already like the way they sound in the video, just sayin'. :)
@NerfLad Thanks. Our kits now come with Evans (Asia) heads standard. For the price points we believe these are a great value. Heads as you know are based a lot on personal tastes. I like your suggestion, and it makes sense. However we are dedicated to demonstrating our products as they come. The exception would be if we showcased one of our artists playing their personal kit. Thanks! DDRUM!
@ddrumofficial Best reply ever, this videos are honest demos of the product. I bought this kit because it sounded great with the stock heads and had an awesome price/quality ratio. Coated Ambassadors and an Evans EQ3 bass drum head made this thing a dream
@ddrumofficial Not if you did both. And said what heads are playing. Guitars are played with different amps, effects. It would help sell and thats the bottom line. No shame in trying something different.Everybody knows that stock heads end up as the spares.
@ddrumofficial But still, you're selling the drums, not the heads. In other videos this drums sound awesome, but with the stock heads it just sounds horrible! In any case, I'd replace the heads with proffessional ones for demos, and then state that those are not the heads that come with the drum.
D-drum just gotta say i own your diablo death punx and i love this kit so much best buy i have ever made, i owned a pearl export 7piece and your kits just destroy it, anyway thanks very much im a huge fan =P

I'm sure this is a good kit, but seeing Vinny sitting there is reminiscent of a fat kid on a minibike....Vinny needs a bigger set-up \m/ RIP Dio.

@NerfLad That is the way the kit is sold. To change the heads for a demo, would be a misrepresentation.
