What most people don't know is that the released soundtrack is actually its "watered down" second version. In Motown's vaults lies the ORIGINAL soundtrack. It's said that on that version, Diana sounded so much like Billie, Berry freaked, fearing that Diana would be too closely associated w/ jazz, especially if the film flopped, so to retain her pop career, he had her record a second, Diana-ized version of the entire soundtrack, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Wow! This is a fabulous performance! Love the whole look and she sings so brilliantly. I finally got to see her live, in May 2009 in Connecticut. One of the best experiences and so surreal! She is not to be missed!
She looks so lovely here. She seems relaxed, and feeling this song. Look at her body, near perfect, just like her voice. A great job. She was in fine and mellow form.
She's in blistering form here. Right on the money. Anyone who's not yet seen her live please do it. She's incredible on the Jazz sets.. especially now. She's approaching 50 years in the business I believe. I hope for a huge tour. Please come back to Liverpool Diana we miss you x
Yes I have heard her 'Good Morning Heartache'! I discovered Billie Holiday through that marvellous film 'Lady Sings the Blues' with Diana Ross. Absolute silk and velvet!
she has such a soft voice. it's like a pillow. she actually can sing but usually goes for more pop friendly tunes. I think she shines on jazz/blues songs. Has anyone ever heard her sing Good Morning Heartache? It's awesome
I love how bluesy this is. the black movie female movie star/singer have Diana to credit for their success. One of my fav movies is Mahogany. I absolutely love her music.

Remember the line from Dreamgirls? Jamie (Barry) said "Dina's (Diana) got something better -- she's got QUALITY". Truth!

Liverpool was amazing last year and back in 2005! However here in Glasgow she gets the best reception, we know how to treat the legendary DIVA!!!!
