@apxeli I would stick a cork in your mouth, then one up your arse. What is there to love about that screeching skirling noise that fool is making throughout the song, she has probably done that throughout the evening.
Super clear video, what camera are you using? Looks like HD video and great sound. Thank you, I was at the St Louis show a night after KC but no one has any videos up yet.
yeah because Boz Boorer is awful guitarist right? I seriously cannot stand this notion that Johnny Marr is the only talented guitarist that Morrissey has played with. Pretty much every one he's ever played with has been great!
Yeah I mean this whole clammering for a Smiths reunion is also annoying. What the hell would be the point of a Smiths reunion. The Smiths were arguably(and definitely in my opinion) the greatest band whoever existed. But they ran their course, and the time and place they represented is no more. Morrissey's solo career has been nothing short of amazing in its own right. A big reason for that is the great musicians he's had with him. I wouldn't want to trade it for a one off Smiths reunion.
For most people, just Marr recording with Morrissey and playing shows would make them happy. They still get together and keep in touch, and if they did have the reunion, they're one of the few bands that wouldn't sound "from the 80s". Like Talking Heads- when a band's that good there's never an expiration date. But there was bad blood after the breakup. Marr's more than capable of playing his solo songs and can just be an additional guitarist.
I've often said I would love to see a Marr/Morrissey reunion, but not a Smiths reunion. I love the Smiths more than any other band on the planet, but the time is way gone. I don't like pointless reunions.
tugbeat25 - this is just a slightly beefed up version of the original ain't it??? The Smiths' live sound (minus Gannon) was incredibly puny by today's standards and would just sound odd to modern ears I am afraid.
Well said, rabbitsrich - I'm old enough to have seen The Smiths live and they sounded dreadful live, trust me. Morrissey's current band deliver a much beefier, richer sound (kudos to Boz) than The Smiths ever could and Moz is obviously happy with it. The myth of The Smiths tends to obscure many of their shortcomings, but, from one who was there, I can tell you that the power of those gigs was all down to Morrissey's connection with the audience - not that thin, weedy guitar sound.
Actually, this isn't far off from the version that the Smiths played at their last ever show, aside from Johnny's incredible picked intro. I think this sounds great, and absolutely maintains the integrity of the original. To each his own, i suppose. :)
Tugboat25 - well this band is NOT The Smiths and Moz is obviously happy with the way it sounds. If you want it exactly like the original, stay at home with the vinyl.
I never understood why people try to scream like that over the music, what a stupid bitch

This is a good version but nothing can beat the time The Smiths did it live. Marr's guitar was amazing!

did I put down Boz
Personally I find Alain MORRISSEY's
co-writer
but you can'tcompare a great band on a litle label, who went 5 year on and on,
with that notion, Johnny Marr did legendary things
only this guitar from this song, ... well you get my point
there no debate about whose best or not

Is it impossible for this band to play a Smiths song with any kind of semblance to the original version?
Why must every Smiths song they play have to be so totally removed from the original?
I understand new perspective and all that but it's just ridiculous how Off they are in maintaining the integrity of original Smiths songs.
