  • So long since I constructed this video. Why don't you people get the fact that the lyrics are not literal, but a condescending sarcastic anthem for all strong women who actually recognize that in the end, the woman has control because the man cant think past his penis. #PropsEve!

  • NO SEX PLEASE - WE'RE MAINSTREAM MEDIA.

(Not only stupid to have no private gain- but impossible, however do you like your man to threaten you with fists to make you perform better in a back seat too?)

  • In order to be a woman, you really need to just ignore the cliche expectations that society has set for you. Respect yourself as any human should, regardless of their sex...and you'll know personally that you're just fine being exactly who you are.

  • This video was great at missing the point of the song..

  • @spilledinsanity : That's the point. o.0)

  • Its hard for women these days, if they let you fuck them then their sluts, if they don't then their bitches, but im a guy, so i'd rather have then spread their legs, ha

  • I think the message is that myspace girls are hoes, lol, but I could be wrong, great video, I love Crass

  • (commnent continued pt. 4 sorry again!)

Excuse my language but I'm going to use a general and relative example: It's like when people say something they don't like or agree with is "gay" or calling somebody they dislike a "faggot", but at the same time defend what they say, "well I don't really mean gay," or, "I don't really mean faggot", and are therefore trying to change the meaning of a word by using it.

  • (comment continued pt.3 sorry!)

And by a woman choosing to portray herself such a manner as a sort of protest against feminist culture is damaging in itself because it doesn't work. It doesn't work because the majority of people do not think that way, therefore becoming counterproductive.

  • comment continued)) We don't need to be abstract about this.

In American culture, a woman who goes out in public wearing a short skirt showing shaved legs and a dandy set of breasts is considered attractive and in reality not many men look at a woman showing herself in that fashion and think, "Hmm, that woman is really liberated." They think, "I want to hit that."

  • @amaconway

    Uhh

you're forgetting the fact that its not about what men think, it's how the girl feels, and what if the girl wants that sort of attention? I don't see what point youre trying to make here..

  • Thank you for posting this.

I've had people say to me, "Well by women flaunting ther tits, maybe they are showing their liberation." Though it's an interesting perspective, I don't think the majority of women behave that way.

  • As a woman, I want to be able to express myself sexually how Iwant, but I don't want my ONLY VALUE to be my sexuality and sexual organs.

Girls and women get a lot of mixed messages in our society, I'm sure you would agree. Be sexy, but not too much. Be a tease but don't fuck cause then you're a slut. Don't have sex w/ men you're not in a relationship w/ cause then your a slut, but men can and they're not sluts. I think females are very confused...I know I sure was growing up.

  • hi.

    all your points are valid.

    thank you for commenting.

  • @mamakoala666 I agree and whether we admit it, men do the same thing, if not to an even greater extent. This song isn't ridicule of making your self appealing to men, it's about gender servitude.

  • I love CRASS. I also consider myself a feminist (got a tattoo to prove it hehe). Hmm I see your point in the video and it goes w/ what this crass album was trying to get across. However, I just don't agree that the issue is so black and white..How do you know all of those girls posed/dressed that way only for male approval? Perhaps they thought they were sexy and felt sexy, and felt like embracing it? I do it in the mirror all the time! And no one is watching but myself (how embarrassing lol).

  • I think you've got a good point, mamakoala, but at the same time, who's ideas of sexiness are they portraying, you know? Though you, relish in your sexiness in the mirror, it seems far-fetched that these women relish in their sexiness by taking these pictures and not only uploading them to their personal computer, but publicly posting them on the internet for the world to see. That goes beyond their own personal fullfillment, and may have something to do with others' approval/low self esteem

  • ah! well done!

  • Oh Look!

    It's me!

Thanks for letting me know you used some of my photos. ;)

    Xoxo

  • i get the video and think it is great....good job...

  • ...thank you.

  • also shaped my world loved it on vinal

  • So how many people been sprayed in the face with hairspray?

  • Interesting points put forth by this video, this is personally made for you glenn. Do you prefer trouser-wearing feminist or skirt-wearing feminist? Because trouser-wearing is more dominant and doesn't take shit from men, but in that process she becomes more masculine herself in traditional thinking, but skirt-wearing is just pandering to traditional stereotype to try and be empowered by making men weak sexually.

  • Crass is just about the most inspirational band ever.

  • Hmmm. looks like a lot of people missed the point. LISTEN TO THE WORDS!!! The images are there to give examples of of what the song is trying to say. That society encourages women to be mere objects of mens desires and not to follow their own true desires.

  • This is good porno music

  • nice one

  • It can lead to other interpretations, but great concept for a video.

  • other interpretations are important we can't all think the same

  • what is acceptable to make a point? is it reasonable to objectify women as part of a larger nominally pro-women argument? if i shoot a porno but put a punk soundtrack on it, is it 4th wave or exploitation? how many hours were spent collecting these images? are people to blame for not having bootstrapped themselves out of their socialization yet? do ignorant youthful indiscretions justify immortalization on youtube? what would the producer feel if angrily confronted by one of the "models"?

  • I think that if one is using images that would normally be objectifying to women to put forth a pro-feminist argument, if it is done well, nowhere in the process are women objectified. Pictures of nude or scantily dressed women, even erotic ones, are not necessarily objectifying. It depends on how they are presented and the mindset of the person viewing them. If put forth in a pornographic light, the subject will most likely be objectified. If put forth ironically, hopefully not.

  • objectification of women is bad but it also bad for a man to repress his strong sexuallity.

  • That's very true, but I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. In fact, I think it is repression of sexuality that has in part contributed to objectification. By repressing sexuality, we make it dirty. When sex is viewed as something to hide, people cannot mature very far sexually. However, if we were open and encouraged learning, people would mature to the point where they could see that no compromise needs to be made in this area. Sexuality can be accentuated by respect.

  • You couldn't have put this any better!!!! Thank you!

  • hi.

    solid observations, the lot.

mainly, i'm not down with big money using body image to manipulate young women.

    thank you for sharing.

  • Thanks I totally agree, but man, it's so dis heartening seeing other women my age, even older, make the decision to ignore that little voice inside that says, "this isn't right, and you don't have to be a part of it." Or simply ignore the choice to be more concious of the world's issues around them.

  • "Could it be an invasion of the freedom of the press to print pictures of women in states of undress?"--Billy Bragg

"Fuck is women's money we pay with our bodies"--Crass

"The cross is the virgin body of womenhood which you defile"--Crass

  • Fashion sucks

  • Women use their bodies as a game to get what they want. Now if a women only plays this game, and never tries any new games...her game is over. Play games with people, expect dirty and disgusting manners. If one doesnt mind loosing, then no one wins..then these childish games will once again just become board games...now that is a romance.

  • Of course they dress up to impress other women, because the sure as hell dont do anything for men. Then the really ugly low life skanks get on you tube with some Feminist oppression rant and blame men because other women are more attractive than them.

Screw Feminist, the are a Hate Movement ans deserve to be oppressed.

  • like your style, I'm angry too.

  • nice one

  • thank you...

  • Cheers then. Nice vid. Just gonna nip orf for a wank.

  • sweet!

  • Another thing is that some girls try to turn the male-dominated world around and say that by showing us their tits that they are the ones in control. Thats not in control, I get to see their tits, they don't even get to see me, score one for the lads sitting on the fence.

  • Well its a sorta mix, some girls are not very self confident so seek compliments from compulsive myspace wankers. Course its the people who are really vain who take loads of pictures who seek that sort of attention.

  • Fucking ace.

  • fuck myspace

  • how mutch for the girles?

  • so, what if you get the message but still masturbated to the pictures? lol.

    I heart crass. nice work.

  • thats fine...

  • then youre an idiot

  • take a joke

    hahaha?

    jeeze.

  • Some women don't do this for men. Believe it or not, it makes them feel good. They get dolled up for themselves, they dress all pin-up for themselves because they like it -not because it's the media's idea of beauty.

  • From what I've seen, women tend to doll themselves up more to impress other women. Guys don't really give a shit. I know I don't.

  • got a point. what women wear doesnt do anything for me.

  • what do you mean by "a person loses all right to protest as soon as they make a personal image public on the World Wide Web.?"

  • see the reply to flemwad

  • The myspace clause aside, the very act of posting an image of yourself anywhere on the internet is in itself a type of self-objectification, which I am convinced compromises a person's integrity in some way. There seems to be an idea that making your life public is liberating, but I think the opposite may in fact be true. At any rate, living in the shadows is undoubtedly more punk rock.

BTW, I enjoyed the video. Thanks.

  • ...word.

  • Thanks for putting this up and your personal beliefs. Stay strong through strong winds.

    peace to ya

    p.s.

CRASS one of the greatest underrated bands that world should know about!

  • I read it.. cause I knew there would be a deeper meaning that just some T&A..

  • when's your next vid gonna be ready?

  • well I am in the middle of one.. Then got an idea for another one..So I have half assed made 2 lol..But in retrospect.. I am getting futher in learning my animation stuff in the gifs.. I am able to easly do frame by frame stuff now and have learned to compress then into smaller files....I will let cha know when I am done so you can tell me what cha think.. take care & as always Pax Vobiscum ~V~

  • Great vid Glenn...Not sure about the 'loses all right to protest' part but I will definitely be pondering it for a while...anyway take it easy

  • hey brother... yeah, the 'loses all right' thing is a reference to the myspace, 'terms of service agreement' ...that being, per that agreement, for signing onto the myspace site, all uploaded images become public domain... so, if their pic gets snagged and used for something they wouldnt have normally agreed to, they're shit out of luck! you and yours stay warm my friend -g

  • BUSINESS: The opening monologue could pass for Kiera Knightly, in "Domino". I like that one girl in that one picture! Which is your fave? word. lil'whores.

PLEASURE: 'Man' may dominate the image of society, but it's WOMEN who RULE THE REAL and UNDERWORLD! Little devils. Behind every great man..

    And the devil's greatest trick?

Convincing the world that she's a man &

her name is God & we're all created in 'his' image.

  • ha! no doubt...

  • NOTE: Even when 'we' "bring home the bacon",

'we' are still being the subs.

But, PEOPLE like 'us' understand that every aspect of every issue is only relative to ones point of view at a specific point in time. It changes, accordingly. Probably why we have such a fondness for cameras.

PS: Just listened to a song, along time ago, reminding me of the way we were. It's called, "The Way We Were"

  • Interesting Glenn.. and as always VERY thought provoking!

  • yeah, i'm hoping people take the time to read the, "About This Video", so it's not construde as merely a T & A vid.
