Their jobs are basically the same as the seal teams. 13 weeks at Corinado is total hell. They have their own free fall regiment SEALS do not. Their advancement and own support they provide for each other is beyond your belief. And yes I do agree about the straight leg infantry by the way. Don't leave out MEUSASOC either.

im trying to find the answer, in the IDF joining these units is a process that begins when you're still in highschool and when you're in a unit, its very unlikely you will EVER transfer from it
I can see MARSOC still has a very loose PERSEC rules. Sad. If these units want to be taken seriously by the pentagon, they need to start acting like a mature organization. when we were in afhganistan we rolled in alot smaller grops than the infantry does we still hit our share of IED we lost 15 trucks due to IED's in a 3 month period

1st, before you get ahead of yourself candidate, you have to pass OCS. Then you go to TBS where you COMPETE for your MOS. If you're lucky enough to get 0302, which many ppl aren't that want it. Then, you have to serve in an infantry unit for 2 years before you can be RECOMMENDED from higher to TRY OUT for MARSOC. I capitalized the key words b/c ppl never understand the process and just talk outta their asses. I'm considering trying out as well. Good luck and get some.
Dude, why would you want to become an O? Trust me I was an O in SPECOPs, and the NCOs have much more fun. Plus they get to spend their careers with the same unit. O's can only do about two years and then move out. The OCS recruiter probably did not tell you that. Breaking way from SPECOPs Sucks! Check it out, do 10 tens as an NCO in SPECOPs, then if you still want go to OCS, retire as an O, now that is a plan...Do you understand?
They're jobs are similar. However, MARSOC has an advisory group that trains ppl in other country how to fight in their wars like Special Forces. MARSOC can also be supported by and/or support USMC units as well in addition to being part of SOCOM.

Now it's just me and a friend that can't connect to the 416. I AM NOT SAYING IT'S A BAD WEAPON. The 416 is a very reliable weapon, I just could develop a personal connection to it. Also I was issued an old ass 249 one time that just would not stay clean. Had 6 people working on that damn thing wiping it down with cotton balls and everything, and it just kept getting shitty almost by MAGIC.
I just need to clarify one thing. The XM8 was developed by the Army FOR the Army. Nobody else was going to get it, just the Army. The reason it was cancelled was because of congress. They said that because none of the services were going to get it, that we shouldn't be able to have it either. And the 416 is a great gun but like all things H&K(the MP5 I was issued, my own Mark 23, and a USP) I just couldn't connect to the gun.
How is the 416 even tactically differant than any other AR-type? The XM8 was shit same as the Mk 23, which is a USP. The XM8 is made by HK, as well. What the hell are you talking about?

I dont wanna say the SEALs, Rangers, and Marine Spec Ops are a joke...but compared to the PJ (Para rescue) They are a joke. PJs Do 2 years training and the drop out rate is insane its above 90 percent.

1) Most PJs didn't join the Air Force to be PJs because they are too new and unheard of.
2) Air Force boot camp is a joke. It doesn't prepare anyone for anything but flying a predator drone...sitting on your ass.
BUD/S has a two week Indoc which drops 95% of SEAL candidates. BUD/S itself drops 60% of SEAL candidates. Another 3% of BUD/S grads dont make it to be SEALs. You have to be selected to go to BUD/S and no one knows how many drop there.
First of all GordonALWAYS you have no idea what you are talking about since Air Force PJs have been around since 1946, and most of the people that are PJs join the Air Force to become PJs since you have to take a PAST test just to get a GTEP contract to go to INDOC. And how do you know that Air Force Boot camp is a joke, are you active duty?
Air force boot camp is a joke, everyone knows that. It's a joke told pretty frequently. If someone said it was a hard time, I would assume they are drastically overweight, sleep over ten hours a day, and have emotional problems. Oddly, the character I've described could probably be a PJ. The PJs are worthless. They'd be a distraction on the battlefield if they ever made it there. I can't think of a single notable feat that the PJs have done, and I doubt you can either.
Hey give those guys respect, they have a job and put their lives on the line just like any other soldier or marine. Remember that incident where a team of SEALs was ambushed , and only one survived in afghanistan? A chopper of more seals a couple rangers, was sent in to get them out but was shot down and all died, well there was a PJ among them aswell. There were also a couple PJ who helped delta and rangers in Somolia. If they are worthless i think the military would discontinue them
That is because they are quiet professionals. PJ's have a sick training pipe, and are a premier specops unit. Ask any SF, Ranger, Seal, or "Other" specops guy what they think of PJ's and I guarantee you not one of them would knock them.

1st, before you get ahead of yourself candidate, you have to pass OCS. Then you go to TBS where you COMPETE for your MOS. If you're lucky enough to get 0302, which many ppl aren't that want it. Then, you have to serve in an infantry unit for 2 years before you can be RECOMMENDED from higher to TRY OUT for MARSOC. I capitalized the key words b/c ppl never understand the process and just talk outta their asses. I'm considering trying out as well. Good luck and get some.

Dude, why would you want to become an O? Trust me I was an O in SPECOPs, and the NCOs have much more fun. Plus they get to spend their careers with the same unit. O's can only do about two years and then move out. The OCS recruiter probably did not tell you that. Breaking way from SPECOPs Sucks! Check it out, do 10 tens as an NCO in SPECOPs, then if you still want go to OCS, retire as an O, now that is a plan...Do you understand?

They're jobs are similar. However, MARSOC has an advisory group that trains ppl in other country how to fight in their wars like Special Forces. MARSOC can also be supported by and/or support USMC units as well in addition to being part of SOCOM.

@Captus15 Technically: Navy SEALs do basically everything, while MARSOC concentrates mainly on land warfare.
By the way, Navy SEALs are considered by Military experts as the best/most elite fighting force in the world.

The mission capabilities don't generally include locking out of a submarine 60 ft. Below, swimming underwater for long distances, then secretly climbing an enemy controlled oil platform and take it over without the public ever knowing about it.

They wear whatever the fuck they want. Usually it's IR reflective to ID as friendlies through NVGs. Some guys will wear blood type tapes. The velcro on each shoulder and rigs is pretty much SOP. This is A co. 1st MSOB when they got back in fall 07. Badass group of guys.

I'll be the firt soldier to say that marines do have one up on regular soldiers though. Plus Rangers are so prideful that I find it hard to believe that one would ever say what you have claimed

Now it's just me and a friend that can't connect to the 416. I AM NOT SAYING IT'S A BAD WEAPON. The 416 is a very reliable weapon, I just could develop a personal connection to it. Also I was issued an old ass 249 one time that just would not stay clean. Had 6 people working on that damn thing wiping it down with cotton balls and everything, and it just kept getting shitty almost by MAGIC.

I just need to clarify one thing. The XM8 was developed by the Army FOR the Army. Nobody else was going to get it, just the Army. The reason it was cancelled was because of congress. They said that because none of the services were going to get it, that we shouldn't be able to have it either. And the 416 is a great gun but like all things H&K(the MP5 I was issued, my own Mark 23, and a USP) I just couldn't connect to the gun.

I dont wanna say the SEALs, Rangers, and Marine Spec Ops are a joke...but compared to the PJ (Para rescue) They are a joke. PJs Do 2 years training and the drop out rate is insane its above 90 percent.
That's no joke. And they are almost assured to be in the Shit. They are the most valuable and underestimated force in the US military

1) Most PJs didn't join the Air Force to be PJs because they are too new and unheard of.
2) Air Force boot camp is a joke. It doesn't prepare anyone for anything but flying a predator drone...sitting on your ass.
BUD/S has a two week Indoc which drops 95% of SEAL candidates. BUD/S itself drops 60% of SEAL candidates. Another 3% of BUD/S grads dont make it to be SEALs. You have to be selected to go to BUD/S and no one knows how many drop there.

Air force boot camp is a joke, everyone knows that. It's a joke told pretty frequently. If someone said it was a hard time, I would assume they are drastically overweight, sleep over ten hours a day, and have emotional problems. Oddly, the character I've described could probably be a PJ. The PJs are worthless. They'd be a distraction on the battlefield if they ever made it there. I can't think of a single notable feat that the PJs have done, and I doubt you can either.

Hey give those guys respect, they have a job and put their lives on the line just like any other soldier or marine. Remember that incident where a team of SEALs was ambushed , and only one survived in afghanistan? A chopper of more seals a couple rangers, was sent in to get them out but was shot down and all died, well there was a PJ among them aswell. There were also a couple PJ who helped delta and rangers in Somolia. If they are worthless i think the military would discontinue them

That is because they are quiet professionals. PJ's have a sick training pipe, and are a premier specops unit. Ask any SF, Ranger, Seal, or "Other" specops guy what they think of PJ's and I guarantee you not one of them would knock them.
