People talk about Lily's Theme being sad, this theme is despressingly sad! I actually avoid listening to this become I know I'm going to burst out in tears but I really can't help it.
those who suffer from post-Potter depression cannot call themselves real fans. For to suffer from this syndrome, would mean that the magic has ended. As long as we remember the stories and they live in our hearts, Hogwarts will be there to welcome us home.
a lot of harry potter soundtracks make me cry (buckbeak's flight, leaving hogwarts, dumbledore's farewell...) but this one makes me outright sob and bawl like a baby. this is the song of the end of harry potter, the end of the world... throughout this whole scene in the movie i was shaking my head frantically thinking "no no no this CAN'T just be the end, please god no!" but it is... even though i still have the books, i'm grieving :(
Harry Potter is not only a story - all the characters, happenings are wrote down in our hearts until the moment we remember .. That's the real treasure - all the feelings, tears, laugh, everything what we went through thanks to that story ..
Goosebumps and tears but I'm as happy as ever. Like JKR said, Hogwarts is always there to welcome me home...I'm not to worried about saying goodbye :)
People are sad that Harry and his adventures are over and gone. But it's never really over. We grew up with these characters, and now we have to say goodbye to them, but for the next generation of readers the adventure is only just beginning. When I have children, I look forward to the day I can hand them my old copy of The Sorcerer's Stone and say "Here, why don't you visit with some old friends of mine?"
Ok. I'm gonna be honest. The effects, the emotions, & the actions scenese were AMAZING!!! However, I think the story line could have been a LITTLE bit better throughout the second half. Idk about u all, but I kinda didn't like how throughout the movie they just showed the scene with Harry & everyone all grown up with their kids going on the train. However it was still good movie!!! & HP will ALWAYS be better then Twighlight!
This moment is, I think, one of the very best from the entire series of films. It's so beautifully directed, and I love seeing them just simply standing next to one another, a sort of visual testament to everything they've gone through, accomplished, and of how much they love and need one another. Chokes me up a little every time.
As much as I think this soundtrack did alright, I felt that the re-performance of Leaving Hogwarts in the final film absolutely ruined the film for me.
I thought they did a lovely job with this moment in the movie! It was so touching; the three of them standing over the distruction of the day, looking into a new era. One that, unfortunately, we fans will never get to truly experience... You could tell, though, that the three of them weren't acting-not really at least. It was an incredilby personal moment for all of them, and it definitely had me sobbing like a baby. It's hard to believe that the series is truly done. WRITE MORE J.K. ROWLING!
I didn't grew up THAT much with HP (i've only grew up watching the first two sequels) but i (still) think i felt that sense of nostalga that every other fan felted watching this movie.
I know this is the official ending soundtrack for the entire series. However, I recommend a small modification, or addition for you listeners. After listening to this soundtrack, please listen to "Reunion of the Friends John Williams." Place this music with the ending scene in your mind, and it all feels like it comes full circle in its most musically satisfying, and emotional power. It brings streams of tears, joy and happiness to know I can end this series on an awe inspiring theme.
Dear J.K, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Snape...I LOVE YOU. I love all of the rest of you too. YOu have made my life complete. This song is like....harry potter is over. And sure, as sad as I am that it will never continue, it will live in my heart forever <3 I will read the books over and over again year after year, as I have been, and someday to my children, and my grandchildren. I love you Harry Potter <3 Thank you.
@Uru19861 Williams was good, but Alexandre Desplat composed the last Harry Potter soundtrack. As it happened in Lord Of The Rings - Return of the King: it won Oscars because was the last movie of a Saga, and I think that will be the same thing on Harry Potter. I explain my theory the best that I can.
I thought it was really cute how Ron and Hermione were holding hands when they entered the Great Hall and Harry smiles at them knowing they are finally together.
It's like a moment of remembering. Remembering the happy and sad times, when we first found out harry was a wizard, meeting ron and hermione and all the other witches and wizards. When Dumbledore, Snape, Fred, Tonks and Remus and everyone else who died. But also that the whole pain and suffering is over, and they can all grow up and their children will happily grow up as well. It's a moment of sadness, but joy as well. What a wonderful childhood I had. Thank you.
Goodbye Harry, Ron, and Hermione. You were in my childhood since the very beginning. I grew up with you. I'll never forget the impact Harry Potter had on my life, and this is not the end at all. Harry will live on forever. I know this isn't the final goodbye. ♥
I can't hear this music without crying my eyes out. It reminds me of when they panned out to Harry, Hermione, and Ron holding hands at the end of the battle. But even the score itself makes me extremely emotional. It has sadness, hope, and childhood wrapped up into one, kind of like the movie itself. Well done, Mr. Desplat.
everytime i watch or read the ending i always have to hold back tears because its the end of an epic adventure... i wanna know what harry is up to till he actually DIES
Harry, Ron and Hermione have always been and will always be some of the greatest friends I have ever known. To grow up with them, and be there through every adventure they've had has been an incredible experience. I genuinely hope that when the Potterheads have kids of their own, they will become the new Harry Potter generation, and will continue on with the adventures. They'll watch the movies and read the books like we did, and JKR's epic tale will live on. Long live the Boy Who Lived.
Watching the three of them holding hands was amazing. You can tell they are going to be friends forever and all of that, but there is this look on their faces like "Now what?" There's a tremendous feeling of uncertainty about the future. This music makes it.
It makes me really sad that its over and this beautiful piece of music just makes it even harder to let go. Makes me feel alittle empty. I hate goodbyes. Makes me look back on everything and all they went through. And thinking about how they're older and their kids have NO idea what they went through many years ago. And now they're are just normal 37 yr old parents with a past. One of the sadest things I'll ever know. Fiction or not. A tear sheds :'(
i've never cried so hard for a movie. The combination of this song, seeing Harry, Hermione, and Ron's faces for the last time, and knowing my childhood is over MADE ME BAWL!
Harry Potter, the magical boy wizard turned hero....We watched him grow up, fall in love and most of all..Discover who He really was. Time to say goodbye to a generation that will never be Forgotten...
So Long, Harry Potter...the dreams you brought to others will live on forever.

They should have put Leaving Hogwarts on this album. I know it's not Desplat's work and I know it's on the first one, but I was so happy they used that music.
