you supposed to breath like that in goju ryu .........I have been doing sansei goju ryu for six years.....and while it may sound funny to you its an actual technique....breathing like that tightens all of your muscles...........thats y its done........
it's how it's supposed to sound. He breathes in as much air as he can through his nose and he breathes down into his diaphragm. Then, he exhales all of his breath through his mouth. The breathing is audible, because it is taught that way.
In IOGKF goju we refer to the 'two turn sanchin' as 'Sanchin Kanryo Higaonna Sensei'. This was the original Sanchin Kata as developed by Higaonna Sensei after intensive research into chinese kungfu in Fukien Province. Chojun Miyagi Sensei developed from this kata another one, which is shorter, and now the standard in IOGKF karate as I know it, although 'Sanchin Higaonna' is this sometime thaught by some teachers and at some gasshuku. Think it is still part of the curriculum at higher levels

its called gocue breathing or however its spelled its the sound when that u make when u tighten up al the muscles in your body and breathe out...
