I just went to Fr Larry's talk here in Dublin Ireland yesterday, it was absolutely brilliant. I feel rejuvenated and full of the holy spirit. Fantastic speaker, gets straight to the point and isn't afraid to tell it how it is. God bless you Fr Larry.

Father Larry came to my Parish in NH several years ago, and his talk on Confession was almost exactly the same as the one in this video. He is a truly remarkable Priest.

One thing he did that really set the tone for the week. At Mass, he said "You won't be bored!"

Where in the bible does it state that missing Mass is a "mortal sin"? Fr. Larry stated this here in the video.

What? Name an aborted child and then ask for forgiveness to be forgiven? IS this biblical?

But I guess that I will not blaim this priest all together. The Bible can seem to support any Christian faith is you know what buttons to push. I have been many people do it. The Roman Catholics are a little worse that more. They seem to make things up as time goes on. "Redefine things" So sad.

@RCK502 In the bible one of the ten commandments is 'keep the Sabbath holy' for all Christians the Sabbath is Sunday. Therefore if you don't go to mass on Sunday you disobey the commandments and commit a mortal sin. Abortion is murder, also one of the ten commandments so of course you would need to ask forgiveness-common sense. Nothing has been made up or redefined, it is your uneducated comments that are 'so sad'.

@AllSeethingEYE01 You are in error... you're in the wrong. Father Larry is telling the truth. The problem with the world today is that they want to do what they want and not what the lord wants. Our bodies are like rental cars... I don't know about you but when I have a rental car I try to take special care of it, not have as much fun as I can with it. The same thing goes for our bodies. I'd do some serious thinking and praying if I were you.

Wow, you have Catholics and Protestants both upset! Having been both, I was impressed you so encouraged your congregation to have Bibles, and read them!

However, as a Bible believing Christian, I was so dismayed that you would preach from the pulpit lies, not the truth of God's word. No believer in Jesus Christ needs fear that any sin will send him to hell. Sola Scriptura.

While we are not to "judge" one another, we are to search out the Word of God to see if what is being proclaimed is so.

oliveman6 means "what's your point?" Catholic priests may speak at the ambo used for reading the gospels before OR after a Mass if they choose to. He's (Fr Richards) okay. :-)

Well, it is not preferred. The Altar of The Word (Ambo) is to be used solely for speaking the word of God. The homily and announcements are spoken from the pulpit.

I was at one of these yesterday, this section of the Conference/Retreat is when various speakers (very charismatic, and all characters, like this guy) get up and talk/present to the men there. The mass comes later. This is not directly affiliated w/ a mass (IE its not part of one, it is not a "Preamble" or a "Postamble" to the mass) the ambo you see up there is there for various reasons, like reading announcements regarding the conference, or for the readings within the mass later on.

I have subscribed to his weekly podcasts and Fr. Larry's words have touched my life. I have 3 teenage sons that I am going to share these homilies with and this video. I have heard Fr. Larry speak many times. His message always comes back to the same thing. God loves us! Spend time with Him in Eucharistic Adoration and start to see His will in your life instead of your own. You may not like his style, but you can't argue with the message. I have found that spending time with Jesus in Adoration is slowly lifting the "veil of the world" that clouds my view of God's plan for me. I highly recommend it!

Fr. Larry is great! He's funny, down to earth and brutally honest at times! I have this talk on CD from the Mary Foundation. I also have a couple of his other talks on cassette. Listening to Fr. Larry, Fr John Corapi and Relevant Radio was what drew me into the Church! I was confirmed on Divine Mercy Sunday this year!
