  • to make it thicker I use ground flax seeds, and more fiber also.

  • That looks amazing! Id like to experiment with making a similar recipe lower in fat (like half the fat of that recipe) I know its a beginners recipe, but thats like a big ol bowl of fat! LOL LIke 200 grams of fat or more! But still good in moderation especially for newbie raw foodists! Hmm...maybe just use the sesame seeds, or just the tahini, use half of it, skip the olive oil altogether, or use hemp oil instead for the omega 3 to 6 ratio...and maybe a super ripe plantain, mmm

  • ok, thanks for the quick reply! appreciate it....

  • @TheLatonya999

    of course.

skip the sesame seeds if you like

    and just use tahini :)

  • is it possible todo the entire recipe with the vitamix and skip the food processor? do you find that you need to have both a vitamix and a food processor for raw food recipes or is it fine to just have one or the other. i just beginning and purchased a vitamix and am trying to decide whether there are some benefits to also having a food processor.

  • @TheLatonya999

i use the vitamix way more!

  • Hi Dara thanks a lot for your useful recipes, I couldn't catch why you use soak seseams and tahini ,because they are the same,am I right? maybe I didn't catch the name exactly, could you please explain?

  • I would love to try this, could you tell me please, if you used Unhulled Sesame Seeds or hulled once?

  • @NuclearNympho

that is a very good question

    hulled-without the hull

    :)

  • @NuclearNympho

    i actually think

    un hulled is fine too.

might stay fresher with the hull intact?

have to make the hummus both ways now

    and try. ;)

  • @NuclearNympho

    hulled.

  • Looks interesting. Must give it a try...

  • Dara, you are a goddess. Love from Tania Corn***** on Facebook. ;-) xx

  • @curiousSOUL22

    thank you sweetcheeks!

  • Thanks for the hummus recipe Dara! I have collected the ingredients and will make it right now! Do you sometimes use a Vitamix tamper as an alternative to a spatula?

  • @Mr70959

a tamper won't do the trick for this jobe :)

  • You are so beautiful inside and out! I want to try this recipe very soon. It's my fifth day out of thirty on a raw-vegan diet, and I feel SO GREAT. This is how I'd prefer to eat, hopefully for most of my life. I feel so awake!

  • Why use soaked sesame seeds AND tahini? are they the same thing

  • @lovsoup I can't wait to try this no bean raw hummus recipe and I wondered the same thing, why raw tahini and soaked sesame seeds. Are there any other ingredient adjustments that would be fabulous? Maybe yellow or orange raw bell pepper, raw pine nuts, or red onions? Time to play in the kitchen!

  • You have a meditative, soothing voice for hypnotherapy :))

  • such a great recipe, thanx

  • Where'd you get the Tahini? I'm always stuck making my own.

  • Raw foods make you fell awake and you can open your eyes wide without trying hard.I feel so much better on raw foods.

  • @1me2b4u

    me too :)

  • thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yet another recipe that I will have to try! :) Your voice is so soothing and calm to listen to, I love it. :)

  • @Lifechanging1973

  • Dara, are you a Serbian?

  • love the recipe thanks! and thanks for your work to help people out! Grateful to have people like you around :)!! I don't always take the time to say thank you for all you do but thanks thanks thanks :)!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Helenelalala

well thank you for the thank you :)

  • A lot of raw food advocates have this wide-eye glare that scares me.

  • @Hermetiqa Were gazing into your soul.

  • This looks wonderful..

  • @HappyBubblesSoap

    thank you! :)

  • Dara you look so young and your video's are amazin. Hugs

    not sure.

thank you for the compliments. sure does make it nice to have the love come

my way. :) right back at ya!

  • what a wealth of great recipes. i'm finding it hard to stay raw vegan and i flop back from raw to cooked vegetarian. your quickly gaining a great database of content. thanks babes! keep it up

  • @davidjohn83

    so my pleasure.

motivating to hear this for sure! :)

  • @searchoscar

    :) THANK YOU! :)

  • sounds yum but why sesame seeds and tahini? is it for texture?

  • @ILoveValenciaOranges

flavor, texture. don't need the seeds, can do without. :)

  • Dara- thank you for the videos. I am a single mom. Not sure how I found your site but I check daily for your updates. They inspire me in many ways...without words your character encourages me to keep moving towards evolving (peace and love) and let the world play like the earthly gain matters. In so many separations the mom and child get forgotten and left behind. Your videos offer friendship to the ones walking the narrow path! You inspire the spirit not to shrink back but to cone out and shin

  • @tracychecotah i am a single mom too. i believe that raw food has helped

me to be a better mom. it narrows our choices for food and yet expands our horizons

in so many ways. we must be diligent and our energy becomes boundless.

and you and i both know, good, flowing energy is what is needed to be a good mom!

we are in this together and i smile knowing i inspire your spirit. shine on my friend. :)

  • Respond to this video...

i love that you altered the recipe to suit you!

  • Made this today! A few changes (no olive oil, no tahini, but extra ground sesame seeds - trying to reduce fats for awhile) and it was SO good! The first taste took some getting used to, but it really does taste a lot like real hummus. For someone obsessed with chickpeas, this comes as close as it gets to the real thing. Great recipe, Dara!

  • @PurnaBhat

i used to be obsessed with chick pea hummus and would get sooo bloated!

i love this recipe. great that you made it low fat. wonder if you have a spice or coffee grinder

to grind the sesame seeds to get a smoother texture?

    :)

  • @daradubinet Yep, I used the Magic Bullet to grind the seeds, then I threw everything into a blender with some water. It was still slightly grainy (I don't have a Vitamix or Blendtec), but it was very creamy anyway. I've been raw for over a year, but every now and then, some new recipes to jazz things up (and convince my friends raw CAN be fun and delicious) are definitely useful. = )

  • I am so glad u decided to do more videos. u have this calming positive energy that is insperational to me that really makes me feel like adding more greens to my everyday eating habits. fyi u r very beautiful as well w this natural glow. if ur ever looking for hair or beauty tips look me up. ratemyfashionideas thnx again love christina marie

  • love the videos:)

  • Dara, i am desperately seeking a raw Tiramisu recipe. Help!?

  • @thisisariane

cafe gratitude has a stupendous tiramisu. check out their

    recipe book Sweet Gratitude. :)

  • @daradubinet Thanks!

  • Thanks Dara. Do you ever make your own Tahini? I have a hard time finding raw tahini, and when it do its pretty expensive. I was thinking that it can't be too hard. It's just ground sesame seeds, right? Would the Vita-mix do it? I don't have a vita-mix yet so I can't test, but I'm wondering if that would be a solution.

  • @riskmandel1 i have not made tahini. just use less of it in your hummus. someone posted that they left out the

tahini and just used the seeds. i suggest soaking them, drying them and grinding in a spice or coffee grinder. :)

  • Hi Dara, this is wonderful. You do a great job explaining the details. Will give it a whirl.

  • @upyourkarma go for it! :)

  • love that recipe...i made that alll the time when i went raw. it was easy and satisfied me. love your videos...keep em coming!!!!

  • Thank you for the no bean hummus recipe, Dara! What a great dip to take to parties with veggies. We appreciate all of your tips as you make various dishes - like why you like your citrus juicer and what you can do with the lemon peel bowls etc. Your videos are very, very helpful & inspirational. Thanks!! You have a lovely spirit that comes through - very calming and genuine.

  • @jrschust2010

love to share! and love party food! enjoy and we will see more tomorrow!

  • Looks great...I have 2 zukes in the fridge, I'll have to try this! Btw, do you have a recipe for (not sweet) chia bread or chia crackers with no flaxseeds.

  • @pinetree909

i need to come up with one. thanks for the impetus! :)

  • I love sandwiches... ideas?

  • @MaxDoes

yes i do! i will need to show how to make bread. :)

    Carolyn

  • @woollyblue thank you Carolyn, it is my pleasure! :)

  • Hi Dara, Thanks a lot for this recipe. I'll certainly try it! I have a special request for you... Can you write the recipe below your video... Where I live, internet speed is really slow ( I am actually living in the great north of Canada... Almost in Arctic circle! Even up there, there is raw foodists!!!

Thank you very much for all the EASY, FAST, ACCESSIBLE AND SIMPLE RECIPES! This is certainly what I like most!

  • @stellamaia1

yes tomorrow. too late now ;)

  • Thanks so much for this! I can't wait to try it.

  • love it! you are awesome!

  • can you make a raw alternative to steak with mashed potatoes

  • @fightclubfreak7

    yes. :)

  • @daradubinet I want to see that one!

  • @fightclubfreak7 this would be great

  • @fightclubfreak7 Seitan will have you fooled. It's not raw, but it's delish.

  • This recipe looks yummy, I can't wait to try it. Thanks Dara!

  • @internalizepeace

    thank you! :)

  • @fightclubfreak7 Yes actually. Use a portabella mushroom...marinate it in a combo of nama shoyu, olive oil, black pepper or cayenne pepper, and some crushed garlic. Put it in the dehydrator for 2 hours at 115 degrees F, then eat. For the mashed potatoes blend raw cauliflower with some olive oil, garlic (for garlic mashed potatoes) some herbs if you like, maybe some tahini. Delicious!

  • love it, i like the idea of turning cooked food ideas into raw, never really thought about it like that looking forward to more of those great recipes. thanks

  • looks delicious! definately trying! thank you! <3

  • you are a treasure

  • Love it!

  • Hi Dara, here is my new discovery for transitional item...PESTO; no cheese..

very simple recipe...you get fresh bunch of basil, garlic, olive oil and, and soaked pine nuts. Just blend that and then voila..raw organic home made pesto.

  • Lovely job, Dara! It looks so delicious! Couple questions, I'm fairly new to raw so maybe this is obvious to the seasoned veterans.

    1. What's the purpose of the sesame seeds? Flavor? Texture? Thickening agents? You mentioned the tahini for thickening but nothing about the sesames.

    2. Is the olive oil you used raw? What qualifies as raw olive oil?

Doing a fabulous job! Keep it up!

Ooh, and another suggestion -- has anyone come up with a raw "popcorn"? Just curious!

  • @MamaSheppard I saw a raw popcorn recipe from in the "KevinGianni" (channel). It involved cauliflower and nutritional yeast, eaten raw or toasted in the dehidrator. /watch?v=0HidehB5uyQ

  • @anitius101

yes i can show you that too! it is a favorite over here! :)

  • @daradubinet Thank you girl, you're so knowledgeable, loving the videos! You have so much positive energy. I was actually answering someone that asked for raw popcorn...Cheers! :)

  • @MamaSheppard For Popcorn you can use small bits of cauliflower covered with lemon juice, olive oil, sea salt and nutritional yeast flakes. You can have it straight or dehydrated. I think Philip McClusky has a video on that.

  • @myraRay

hi, yes, i like it without lemon. if you don't want to use oil, sesame or olive or coconut,

use water with nutritional yeast and salt. :) garlic too...

  • @RobertL1212

    3 of hearts. :)

  • @MsCalann

    good point. thanks! :)

  • dara this is completely off topic but i've been searching for kelp noodles @ my local health food store and i'm coming up empty. Is there a special supermarket that sells it? Would trader joe's or wholefoods have it?

  • @uLOVEjULZ

yes! whole foods has it near the tofu! :)

  • @uLOVEjULZ I read once in a blog that you can find them at asian markets for a lot less money. Some chinese stores have them. Maybe iyou could do a search.

  • Love zucchini hummus, There not available where I live yet. I play around with the recipe so it's different each time and yes the blender is a better idea.

  • @Zippypo i play too. sometimes sun dried tomato, olives... blender def better!

    have fun!
