That looks amazing! Id like to experiment with making a similar recipe lower in fat (like half the fat of that recipe) I know its a beginners recipe, but thats like a big ol bowl of fat! LOL LIke 200 grams of fat or more! But still good in moderation especially for newbie raw foodists! Hmm...maybe just use the sesame seeds, or just the tahini, use half of it, skip the olive oil altogether, or use hemp oil instead for the omega 3 to 6 ratio...and maybe a super ripe plantain, mmm
is it possible todo the entire recipe with the vitamix and skip the food processor? do you find that you need to have both a vitamix and a food processor for raw food recipes or is it fine to just have one or the other. i just beginning and purchased a vitamix and am trying to decide whether there are some benefits to also having a food processor.
Hi Dara thanks a lot for your useful recipes, I couldn't catch why you use soak seseams and tahini ,because they are the same,am I right? maybe I didn't catch the name exactly, could you please explain?
Thanks for the hummus recipe Dara! I have collected the ingredients and will make it right now! Do you sometimes use a Vitamix tamper as an alternative to a spatula?
You are so beautiful inside and out! I want to try this recipe very soon. It's my fifth day out of thirty on a raw-vegan diet, and I feel SO GREAT. This is how I'd prefer to eat, hopefully for most of my life. I feel so awake!
@lovsoup I can't wait to try this no bean raw hummus recipe and I wondered the same thing, why raw tahini and soaked sesame seeds. Are there any other ingredient adjustments that would be fabulous? Maybe yellow or orange raw bell pepper, raw pine nuts, or red onions? Time to play in the kitchen!

Made this today! A few changes (no olive oil, no tahini, but extra ground sesame seeds - trying to reduce fats for awhile) and it was SO good! The first taste took some getting used to, but it really does taste a lot like real hummus. For someone obsessed with chickpeas, this comes as close as it gets to the real thing. Great recipe, Dara!
@daradubinet Yep, I used the Magic Bullet to grind the seeds, then I threw everything into a blender with some water. It was still slightly grainy (I don't have a Vitamix or Blendtec), but it was very creamy anyway. I've been raw for over a year, but every now and then, some new recipes to jazz things up (and convince my friends raw CAN be fun and delicious) are definitely useful. = )

Thanks Dara. Do you ever make your own Tahini? I have a hard time finding raw tahini, and when it do its pretty expensive. I was thinking that it can't be too hard. It's just ground sesame seeds, right? Would the Vita-mix do it? I don't have a vita-mix yet so I can't test, but I'm wondering if that would be a solution.
Thank you for the no bean hummus recipe, Dara! What a great dip to take to parties with veggies. Lovely job, Dara! It looks so delicious! Couple questions, I'm fairly new to raw so maybe this is obvious to the seasoned veterans.
1. What's the purpose of the sesame seeds? Flavor? Texture? Thickening agents? You mentioned the tahini for thickening but nothing about the sesames.
2. Is the olive oil you used raw? What qualifies as raw olive oil?
Doing a fabulous job! Keep it up!
