  • what is this language ? greek ?

  • "what is this language ? greek ? "

I think so, the main language during the Roman Byzantine era was Greek.

  • What i like about the East Roman Byzantine chants is it feels so alive, an eery feeling.Mysterious.

  • no one can beat the byzantine chants

  • what does BYZANTINE mean?

but I agree that this singing is something of a diferent round as it is sung to the lord

  • It's a name, it refers to the Byzantium Empire which was the successor to the Roman Empire.

  • successor to the Roman Empire or brake way region of the R.E

  • the empire was ruled by two emperors brothers one was married to a Orthodox woman, even tho the eastern empires soldiers were nothing compare to the west God gave a vision to Justian saying at this time of day you will see a sybol in the sky take this symble and put it on your armour and so Justinian did, and as he went to fight his pegan brother...the army of the west fell without Justinians army pulling out even one sord! and so god mercy is so Great.

    Lord Jesus Christ save us!

  • thus Augustus Caesar fell to his demise! and St Theadoura and St Justinian Prevailed and brought the Byzantine empire to its climax and Orthodoxy was spread. As did the Great chants that we chat to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

  • it wasn't a break away faction. in the 3rd century the empire was considered too large for the rule of only one man. So it was split into two, The Western Roman Empire (capital-Rome) and the Eastern Roman Empire (capital-Constantinople).The eastern part became much much more powerful and wealthy and lived on for almost 1000 years after the Western Empire fell.

  • Actually the term Byzantine Empire was only used by later historians to describe the Roman Empire during the middle ages.

The empire was not called that when it existed.

It was called the Roman Empire, the people were Romans and the emperors were called Roman Emperors. The Roman Empire did not fall until the fall of COnstantinople in may 1453.

  • haha

so why did the sulltans wanted to get Rome to after they got constantinopol??

by the way.. it was the greek bastards who sold it to the ottomans and made a deal with them

    enemies and trators

  • Why did the Sultan want to get to Rome after Constantinople?Because of ambition? he could?the conducted a war of expansion why whouldn't he want more?they wanted to expand into Europe and destroy the heart of the Catholic church which was located in Rome, the Ottomans got as far as Vienna before they were stopped.

  • @CocaPepsis your first comment was totally (byzantine empire) true but your second comment is totally wrong. you proclaim that the ottomans were anti-christians who wanted to destroy christianity ?one of the reason why they wanted to get rome was because they declared themselves as new romans after getting constantinople, ottoman sultan started to be called "kayser-i rum". kayser means ceasar, rum means roman. ottoman ruling elite thought they were the roman empire.

  • @CocaPepsis people in eastern Mediterranian were always Greeks, more than 4.000 years. That's why after the first capture of Konstantinoupolis, at 1204 from the western crusaders most of the Byzantines prefer Othomans than the Cristians of west. Unfortunately, that's the truth...

  • @CocaPepsis Well, that's what they called themselves, Coca, but I disagree that they were actual Romans. Many people, such as contemporary Scandinavians, even refer to the medieval Eastern Roman Empire as Greece. I think it's more accurate to say that the people were themselves Greeks who followed Roman custom. It would be like saying Romans were Greek because much of their own culture took influence from the ancient Greeks. Just my two cents on your comment.

  • @AndreaKola "BYZANTINE" cames from ΒΥΖΑΣ, King of Megara, a city near Athens, Greece, 900 b.C.
