The voice wasn't as annoying as it is in real life. Plus, after she finally went against it, she had the 'courage' to keep all of the money that was to be used for the project, and then used some of it to build a road to the empty beach which was the spot where the bridge to nowhere was to be built. A real 'maverick'.

I supported Ron Paul early on, but since his campaign never materialized, I had no choice but to vote for Obama, because a McCain Presidency is absolutely unacceptable. I have "woken up". And I have seen the world for it really is. Unfortunately, it is the Paul supporters, who are very noble (mind you), but who are disconnected from reality. Because when I argue with them about why they continue to support the GOP, they say they want to "use the GOP" and "educate voters". That isn't going to happen. The GOP is gone. And if it wasn't clear to you during the Primaries, when Paul captured maybe 5% of total votes, then maybe it will be in another 4 years.

And then last year when Alaska had the money to build the bridge to Ketchikan (not quite nowhere), she gave Alaskans a $1200 oil rebate instead of investing it in infrastructure, schools, etc., leaving those needed investments to be funded w/ Federal money. I'm betting $1200 checks buy a lot of voter approval and political leverage, which ultimately, the rest of us will fund.

The Alaska PFD (Permanent Fund Dividend) last year was $1654 paid out to 595,237 people for a total of $984,521,998! Historically, the PFD has been between $708-$1963 since 1987. Imagine what can be done for Alaska if they had reduced it by 20-30%. She spent $27 million in federal earmarks and left Wasilla $22 million in debt as mayor(Wasilla had NO DEBT before her). She is a true "fiscal conservative" in every sense.

I get my news from Drudge and other non-bias sources. Ron Paul had once been one of my favored picks considering his stance on many issues, and being from my state as well. But when he was asked about Jose Alonso and Ignacio Ramos he paused in confusion. He not only didn't know who they were, he didn't even know that two of our border patrol agents were in prison wrongly because of Bush's lust for Mexico. Where has he been? This should have been on the top of his lists of issues.
