That's an excellent film. If you hadn't mentioned the early departure I wouldn't have been any the wiser about the last scene - it was just superb but the second scene is full sun was brilliant! BTW the birds calling over the Thames at 1:07 to1.10 are, as you probably know, Ring Necked Parakeets which prevail in the area!
Congratulations to you both for joining the HD Club, and what a camera to start off with. Superb production throughout as always and a sheer joy to watch....5* Bob
Excellent to see your still making films Martyn and co, I was getting quite concerned of your absences. But this film here is something truely to enjoy seeing, you got all the winter snow scenes, the atmosphere, the loco and the magnificent sound of a MN. Thats a 5* :)
Sorry to worry you Ryan but i hope to be out a lot more now i've got a new camera to play with. I've videod a couple of VSOE workings without posting anything just to get used to it, and they can be slipped in at a later date. ps. Keep this to yourself but due to poor light, the opening scene with the sledging was actually filmed the next day. It's okay because i don't think anyone noticed.
Sun steam & snow, three things you rarely get to see together. And when you do you worry about how to get out there and enjoy them. The Mayford shot came out perfectly. Prime spot on the bridge and the sun out fully for the only time all day. And although Surrey had suffered heavy snowfalls, the main roads were clear and the lanes were passable with a little care.
Thanks for your comment Matt. If you plan to get a shot from Box Hill may i suggest you do it early in the year as the view of the line is greatly reduced when the trees are in leaf.
thanks for suggesting that Martyn. i am thinking of either going up to box hill on the 22nd january or on the 13th febuary. not to sure which date yet but one of the two
Just found this - superb video, well done

This kind of camerawork is in a class of its own for which 5 stars is really insufficient. Brilliant.

Excellent. Well done for going out too. I was going to go on the train to Chilworth to see this run but they were in chaos in our area.
