  • Woowwww... Really beautiful, so delicate.

  • que bella la musica, que mas puedo decir? hermosa interpretacion, music is magic

  • excellent execution and trascription!

  • This is truly wonderful. thank you so much for posting. I agree with gaspymanful. There's something quite mournful in the tone of a clavichord and it really suited this piece. Great dynamics too! Please post more.

  • Wonderfully arranged and executed!

  • this performance is better than the organ version, the sounds level are very clear, is smaller but moore beautifull...

  • I love it. Thank you for sharing. Now I wanna have a clavichord. :) best wishes from Germany.

  • Though I prefer the organ version, this is nice!

  • Wonderful happy happy piece. You play with such effortlessness, it's truly amazing.

    I love watching these clips.

  • i enjoy it , thx

  • BRAVOOOOOOO!!!!! Keep uploading more of your interpretations, you´r very talented, that sounded so baroque :D

  • Mesmerizing.

  • AWESOME! Thanks.

  • Love that sound >.< you're awesome

  • Good job teafruitbag. Good tempo and one can hear how you employ the piano-forte capabilities of the clavichord. How could I get a copy of the score? I have a clavichord although the harpsichord is my thing, I guess it will sound nice too in my hpscd.

  • is that a double or triple fretted clavichord?

  • Me 3!...Radiohead

  • @andreww8178 he sent me too!

  • thom yorke sent me!

  • You played that flawlessly... excelent music.

  • i love your clavichord XD :D

  • Have you written down your arrangement of this piece? If yes, could i possibly get the score? :D

  • awesome!

  • Absolutely enjoyable! Thank you for uploading.

  • Bravo ¡¡ very bad instrument but very good instrument

  • Charming! All the best from Poland and thank you for your work!!

    BTW: wonderful instrument :)

  • BRAVO! Complimenti

  • the keys are so small.................. : O

  • Nice dynamics!

  • i love it

  • how much did your clavichord cost, and how lou is it, oh yeah on more question, can one press so hard that a string breakes?

  • @Orchidbeautyful yes, if you break it you break you, you dont need to press so hard that it breaks to make a sound,

  • I like your stuff. Thank for posting ;-)

  • awesome bra. wonderful to hear dat shit played on dat clavichord. it be havin' such a unique timbres n shits.

  • Where can I get sheet music for that?

  • It is one of the Works of Vivaldi. Actually it is a Violin Concerto. but Bach Rearranged it by Clavichord.

  • @revengejeffrey21 Bach actually arranged Vivaldi's violin concerto for organ; I then used Bach's organ concerto arrangement to make my clavichord version.

  • @teafruitbat Nice one! I thought Bach Rearranged it by Clavichord, i understand that Bach Rearranged it by Organ. HAHA. Nice one man! :D

  • I thought it would be easy to play a harpsichord (I know this is a clavichord, but same point should apply), but the width and length of the keys are just different enough from a piano that you make a lot of mistakes at first, or at least I did.

  • @KarrotKun1 It just takes some practice! Actually, the clavichord is perhaps more difficult than the harpsichord in that respect, as it is an even more hair-trigger action, and sensitive to nuance in a way that the harpsichord is not. Usually the player adjusts to the different size of the keys fairly easily after a while.

  • @teafruitbat I wish I had greater access to a harpsichord, and I don't think my university even has a clavichord. The stage manager only lets me play it right before it is to be tuned for a concert...

You play wonderfully, by the way! How much did this small keyboard cost you?

  • This is deffinitely Vivaldi. You can tell by how the scales end with trills and the trills enter the piece into a new key. My favorite parts are 1:45 - 1:55 and 2:01 - 2:16

  • i'm playing this in my music class in school! it's a really beautiful piece. especially when the the whole orchestra is in unison...it's an epic moment in the piece XD

  • So nice, Pretty good playing.

I want to play a clavichord, too.

  • it's domenico scarlatti

  • No, it isn't:

  • @drbanido

    domenico?

its bach -.- this is an arranjement for clavichord

this is a piece for organ, okay?

  • You can tell by the many accidentals and scales that quickly turn into trills that this is deffinatley a Vivaldo score.

  • vivaldi/bach??? which one is it? I'd guess Bach

  • I modified the information on this video to be more clear: it is Bach's arrangement for organ of Vivaldi's Concerto Op. 3/8 RV522 for violin---arranged yet again by me for clavichord.

  • @teafruitbat Pleas i beg you must send me a copy of your version!! lol. it is great im dying to learn it!!

  • listened to this about ten times in a row now, love it.

  • A clavidchord can be rather dangerous. Strings are held at high tourque. There a lot of pressure and tension, if one of the strings break, its basicly a hair-sized bullet.

  • really? now im afraid to play one...

  • @supersmashermeta

I've had strings snap on my hands before — mostly guitar, a few mandolin, and a banjo — and thin strings generally don't have enough mass to cause damage. Don't get me wrong, it hurts like hell, but they're not dangerous.

I've never experienced a snapping clavidhord string, but I can't imagine them being much more tense than what you'd find on any other small, stringed instrument.

  • i love clavichors

    and that one

    *-*

i now am to steal it from you someday xD

  • vivaldi, genius. from la stravaganza i think

  • From L'Estro Armonico (op.3) ;)

  • XDDD All I can think is that it's so CUTE XDDDD Makes a powerful song adorable, though still just as good. :)

  • Nice , but you know .... very much in takt ! let it be a little more free ... and use your clavichords soft and softer! sound !

  • sounds almost exactly like a lute from that era.

  • Is there an arrangement out there for a normal-sized keyboard? I'd like to play it on harpsichord but of course the pedal part from the organ original has to be dealt with somehow...

  • That change in at 2:35 is really sweet. Very good music.

  • You wouldn't if you were playing the extreme sixteenth notes on violin =________=

  • man thats awseome it sounds kind of like a banjo

  • This sounds cool, like a piano with a cold.

  • Until now, I've only heard it for organ. Thanks, man ;]

  • Err . . . How/Where did you get a -Clavichord-. . . ? I thought those were extinct. . . . Heh. In any event, this was well-done.

  • No, they are still made...you can even buy them in kit form...

  • man, you can find clavichords almost everywhere....

  • Linda peça meu amigo! Parabéns!

  • I love the sound of this

  • Great!

I just heard it my teacher interpretating on the organ.

But this version is also very, very nice.

    No comparison, of course ;)

But it's great and you play very well!

    All the best, Janosch

  • i so want a clavichord!

  • Outstanding arrangement! I play this piece on organ, and the difficulties of arranging it for clavichord(!) are apparent. Beautiful job, beautifully played!

  • veramente bello........

  • Very nice playing!

I can see you are not used with the spacing of the keys of this instrument :) (or maybe i imagine it).

I find the sound "mandoline-like" but it may-be just the way we place the microphone. It sounds like the strings lack tension (unlike plaqued instruments, hammered strings sound best the tenser the string is: piano, clavichord...). Or maybe it is just that the resonating box is that of a tiny instrument...

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Bravo

  • dud! wonderfull performance! perfect adaptation! thanks for share this with everybody!

  • Wow Ryan, I just listened to your new version on that TINY clavichord. This sounds rich and full by comparison. Good to see new videos from you.

  • Concerto en la mineur de Bach-Vivaldi.

    (put this on search)

    You play like him!

    Nice.

  • The best legatto!!

    Nice performance.

(Andre Isoir an You. The same)

    Congratulations.

  • Wow! Just love this. Bach rules, and this is just SO right! I wanna die for your clavichord replica. Superb performance! Bravo!!!

  • An absolute delight, I agree about the colour and the mandolins! I've played the organ version for many years and once heard the original 2 violin concerto played by some students in a station on the Moscow Metro of all places - TRUE!

  • Sounds like a Bach transcription. Perhaps Bach used a clavichord or harpsichord to work out the melody and harmony when transcribing orchestral works.

  • Nice instrument and performance!

    Bravo!

  • It's amazing how such a little instrument can sound so colorful! Congratulations, you're a great musician

  • Delightful! As you are playing I hear the violins and orchestral parts completely in my head, a little confusing because this favorite sounds now like a concerto for two mandolins, Lol.

  • I was wondering if you could send me the score of the harpsichord part of this concerto. PS. Bravo.

  • :) I've always loved that piece. Its originally for two violins but I've always preferred it for keyboard. Thanks for putting up your version.

  • NICE touch... Marvelous!

  • nice arrangement

  • Great God Almighty, this is nice!

    Teafruitbat,

that Jack Peters' clavichord is one hot instrument and you are such a fun musician to listen to. I subscribe to your videos and am just in awe of your musicianship.

If every student could start on one of these; it would produce a fantastic generation of keyboard players.

  • Most Excellent!

  • Did you arrange this yourself?
