  • Soy un fan de Argentina, Lanus Bs AS, son lo maximo en musica que he escuchado en mi vida y su musica siempre estara vigente!!!! Gracias Wright, Gilmour, Nick y Waters. GRACIAS.

  • Just a note to the poster of this amazing video, David Gilmour hates being called Dave.

  • I tell everyone out there...he's still "hot" and still great...mulitpattyc

  • this like a warm up before live 8 or something or a rehearsal ?

  • After all these years, Gilmour's voice and guitar playing is still incredible.

  • Feeling > Shred

  • david gilmour is one of the few that have reached inmortality through music.... he become one with the music he plays... one whole being of pure music, that aims to heaven, and so, reaching inmortality... some times i can abstract my existence and walk beside him... some times i feel inmortal, specialy with this song.... actually, only with this song.... :´)

  • Never get tired of listening to this song and Dave's magic. I saw this concert in Earls Court in 1980 (or was it 1981), an experience I will never forget.

Only one other guitarist comes to mind who is on the same level: Andy Latimer of Came. Search for CAMEL ICE (live) and you will know what I am talking about.l

  • @mertsi1340 duuuude i cant believe ive never heard that before, i just watched it, excellent stuff!

  • @swanski100

You are more than welcome, I am glad you liked it. Camel is a great band and Andy Latimer is actually prog rock royalty. In addition to the song ICE there are tens of other song just as mesmerizing by Camel.

  • Believe it or not, but thats the worst possible tone he can ever get out of a guitar.

  • most of it isnt his writing...he is the greatest there ever has been in my oppinian! his greatest solo well there isnt one! they are all musical perfection....and the good thing is i HAVE MET THE LEGEND HIMSELF!!! MY HERO!!!!!!!

  • @mattaystig i honestly dislike you now cuz you've met him... lol jk but i play guitar and honestly can lay one of his solos and thats time from pulse.. he's the best there ever was and i should have seen him in minneapolis but he didnt show up sadface... but your the luckiest person ever to get to meet him... he's my NUMBER 1 hero

  • FKin ell. WOW. This is the best comment I can come up with after being blown away by young Gilmour & co

  • gilmour should have sung the whole thing

  • THE MUSICIAN COMPOSER DAVID WORLD'S GREATEST PINK FLOYD THE GREAT BAND THAT TIME FRAME WILL NEVER LIKE ANOTHER BAND DIE WITHOUT YOU ARE ONLY SO MANY TALENTED AND AMAZING RINGTONES THAT LED TO ME SO LONG WAYS YOU NEVER JUST WALKING

  • And who is this person, who disliked this Masterpeace?

  • @Flamingbird1989 - Probably Roger Waters - - RIP RIchard Wright.

  • David Gilmour = a God . BEST guitarrist every period!

  • Un sommet !

  • It just doesn't get much higher than this...wthout blasting off into outerspace. Like a low orbit where you can still see...EVERYTHING. FYI, this was supposed to be a tune on David's 1978 solo album and didn't quite make it...so it evolved into a piece on The Wall. It's not to say I think it would have been better without Roger Water's ugly fingerprint on it. It's a great song as a FLOYD song. I'd still bee interested to to hear Dave's personal first studio outtakes on it pre-Wall.

  • david gilmour up to this date has the sexiest lips and nose!!!

  • the solos of this are just.... no words to describe them, sorry....

  • tan hermosa como la primera vez....!!!!!!!!

  • rip ricard

  • When the song ended i relized that i was out of breath

  • Wow, during the solo the rhythm guitarist sure is going at it, haha.

  • the only video on this tube worth watching, f----ing fab and then some, gilmour is god, sorry if you don't feel the same way!!!!!!!

  • Gilmour and Knopfler both have this sparky thing called...emotion. They are the two best guitarist for me =)

  • @surfinspirit

Hey don't forget the "spiritual guiding father " of both ( which are my most played by me on guitar) HANK MARVIN , both Mark and David admit so!

  • @joanstring

Sure ! Marvin is a genius too =) And the passion for red guitars seems to be the same for two of these genius ^^ Love these three guys !

  • @surfinspirit

That is correct the red guitar strat is from Hank and both Mark and Dave were deeply inspired by the red flamingo strat (made in Japan)

Me too love these 3 genius

  • Gilmour and Knopfler both have this sparky thing called...emotion. They are the two best guitarist for me =)

  • bello pieza

  • beautiful!! too beautifull everytime i listen to this song . it just takes me away from it all!! <333

  • us and them - amazing !!!!! written and performed by richard Wright . the only song in the world I could listen to on repeat forever!!!

  • Genius.....

  • RIP Rick

  • More Genius...

  • i still cant find words...

  • there are no words to describe the perfection that we have just witnessed

  • R.I.P. Richard Wright, the best synth/pianists ever to walk this earth! David, keep on going bro! Your voice is always amazing!

  • i really respecting u mr.david gilmour and pink floyd

u becoming older and older but ur voice keep runing between my ears everytime

u r the best singer the best guitarist & best musican

  • i like when, in a live performance, you can catch that small signals between the musicians, to mark the end of a section or like in this case, the end og the song. wonderful!

  • el magnifico "phill manzanera" ;D

  • gilmour and floyd for ever :) fantastic four ;D

  • this is better than pulse version!

  • fantastic track :) !!!

  • gilmour the best

  • if anything this is the best song on the album pink floyd rules r.i.p. whright

  • I can't explain, you would not understand. This is not how I am...

  • RIP wright Pink floyd 4ever

  • RICHARD WHRIGHT!!!!!

  • I think that Rick was singing much better on that tour than on the Pink Floyd tours in the 80s and the 90s. Also, he and David sounded wonderful when they sang together in the harmony. Too bad Rick is no longer with us.

  • Anyone know what effects Gilmore kicks in on the second solo? ...sounds like echo with a touch of flange and overdrive, but I just can't quite place the sound he's getting.

  • fuzz i think

  • chorus fuzz and delay

  • he uses a special effect called mad skills and something called gilmouricious fuzz

  • guitar tone n feel cannot get better than this.

  • GEILSTE VERSION EVER 5 STARS

  • Out of all the guitarists in the world. I'm glad it was david gilmour who inspired me to learn the guitar. Thanks David !

  • R.I.P. whright

  • yes, the album is called The Wall, just the same as the movie. The track is Comfortably Numb.

  • Yes it is. But the album's name is "The Wall"

  • its called a band !! everybody gets some 'light, dave does this song better .that aint the point with a reunion .floyd has yet to be matched on record or record CHARTS...IT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.

  • Close your mouth louismarcil, you have to learn more about the music. Wright had an amazing voice and he perform this version of the song beautifully. And What happen to you with the people who play the keyboard? So, you can say everything you want to say, but think about this: "Your lips move but I can´t hear what you are saying"

    -------------- Attentivly, ComfortablyDouglas.

  • dude, wright is amazing, you do NOT insult the great richard wright

  • 6:10 the best part of this amazing solo, for my. This is the best song of all times , and it will keep been the best. Unless Pink Floyd do another song better than this. But only Pink Floyd. Comfortably Douglas.

  • Wow the ending is just amazing!!! These old men are real fucking guitar legends!!

  • how can you compare David Gilmour with others??? Gilmour is the man...nobody will have such a beautiful sound ever...! And how can u compare him to a guitarist that mainly shreds ...David is a melodic player and a master of Guitar sounds...! There is no comparison...

  • The new Gilmour Strat....Monster sound as the old and fantastic Stratocaster PRE CBS.....

  • why isn't nick mason on drums here@

  • That's a song performed by David Gilmour(Solo) here, Richard is just a guest here.

  • Watch his face, he's into it, what passion!

  • wow

  • sounds so easy ,but he had to come up with this out of the blue, snatched out of time and space

  • its david gilmour, its easy for him, i can just improvise a solo over comfortably numb and make it sounds good, its not how well you play but how you feel what you play

  • WELL SAID>.............

  • beautifully said my friend!!

  • gilmour is definately one of the most underrated guitarists....he doesnt necessarily play fast but he is flawless and he plays with so much emotion....not to mention his songwriting

  • ya i totally agree. his songs are so mellow but when the guitar solo comes he just takes it home. its indescribable.

  • Yeah, but I think he should stay underrated.

He's my idol, I love every single thing he does BUT one thing that contribute to his greatness is his underrating ;-) ain't it?

I wouldn't like people to stay Gilmour is the best guitarist, I prefer they get a boner about Slash or Buckethead (I hate both) and just let us (poor minority made of real music lovers) the true one ;-)

    Cause usually, majority likes crap.

    Hope I'll not be misunderstood

  • it´ll be better if everyone knew gilmour

  • It's not talking about being known or not, it's talking about rating

  • Saying he's one of the best is comparing him to other isn't it? You can just say he's GREAT and then it'll be okay ;-)

It'll do justice to both of them, isn't it?

  • @cmorisey Bro I feel the same way. More than underrated no one plays with the emotion that he carries.

  • @cmorisey underrated? he's definatly known as a legend. nothing less

  • @cmorisey underrated? He's know as one of all times best players aint he?

  • @cmorisey He's not under rated.... just no need to compare him to anyone.

  • @cmorisey Best coment on youtube!

  • amazing

  • he should hv been playing this solo for hundred times, if not thousand times

it's indeed one of the greatest guitar solo ever

  • dave is playing the NOS there :D

  • and after you try to play like him, and fail...then imagine having to do it live, standing up, while singing. and best of all it's his own music. just gtfo. never post another comment. you don't deserve to be a youtube member.

  • anyone can play like david gilmour?????!?! LOL, how ignorant are you?!

  • teribly sorry, page had no feeling in his playing

  • I love gilmour's playing and he has plays with a lot of emotion but you're wrong when you say that page plays with no emotion because if that was true, then how would you explain Stairway to Heaven, Since Ive Been Loving You, and All of My Love

  • You spelt 'mOng12345678' incorrectly.

  • Comment removed

  • DG has more talent in his nail clippings than 99% of todays guitarists.

  • @esa1810 thats a huge exageration

  • How can you not like this ?

  • RIP Rick

  • best guitarristtitit ever,haaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Lol @ 2:39 he looks kind of like Clint Eastwood. David Gilmour rocks.

  • I piu' grandi di tutti! EKKOLI!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Two great musicians, i can't explain my respect to them.

Long live David and RIP Rick!

  • David Gilmour = BEST guitarist ever. That's it, No more Comments

  • amazing

  • God Bless you Rick Wright.

  • That is just amazing! I get chills down my spine when the solo begins. It's unbelievable how some people can affect me just by playing an instrument. He is definitely one of the best guitar players ever!

  • just goes to show u don't always have to do 2300000 notes per seconed to be an amazing guitarist

  • Well said :)

  • Dave's voice has like no difference at all even nearly 30 years later. That's pretty darn amazing.

  • He is by far the best guitar player ever.

  • maybe not the best but he's close. He is top 10

  • he's top 3

    Jimi Hendrix

    David Gilmour

    Van Halen

  • No, he is the greatest player ever. Sorry.

  • WOW ive got a tear in my eye. What a performance...

  • I got many tears in my eyes when I watch Pink Floyd at the Live 8 playing this song. It's so intense and perfect, everytime I drop some tears. And also it's probably the last time we saw them play together, which is really sad.

  • the best song & guitar solo from Pink Floyd.

  • maybe best solo ever!

  • This must be fairly recent?? Dave and Richard still sound awesome!!! Where is the drummer Nick?

  • It's David's tour, last year.

There'a also a DVD out now. It is grandiose!
