  • lol did you guys know that your beloved U OF W " IN DOWNTOWN A HUNDRED YEARS AGO WAS ACUALLY AN INSAINE ASSYLAM ' FOR THE INSAINE ' NOW ITS A SCHOOL OF HIGHER LEARNING ' LMFAO ' CHEERS

  • @SlurpeeQueen21 your point is? And by the way, learn to spell. Sounds like you could use some time in a school of higher learning. Actually, from the intelligence that is oozing out of your comment, you could use to go back to kindergarten

  • Winnipeg, what on earth happened to you?

  • Even the roads look nicer

  • is winterpeg in manisnowba?

  • I was born on June 23 1966 in Winnipeg, so this is near that time.

  • Love this video.. It'll never be the same, notice the smile's on everyone's faces, I wish I was born back then.

  • It's Eaton's.. (sadly) they modernized the clock in the 60s. It used to be brassy and classy...Great to see the basilica. Too bad they built awful Portage Place and the goofy crossovers...

  • lots more people downtown than now, unless theres a jets game or something.. too bad all the homeless and pan handlers had to invade wpg down town. much safer back then.. why cant i be alive in that era lol

  • That's not the Bay inside. That's Eatons. The Bay has thick support columns.

  • What an awesome video!

  • That's what I thought also the inside store shots especially the first ones were Eatons main floor

  • I can't believe how different cars were

  • I bet this is older than 66..... streetcars were phased out in Winnipeg in 1959

  • @deltanalliance Don't see any street cars, phaps you don't mean the electric trolley buses, which were around in the 60s. If you do see a tram, which frame?

  • I was born in Winnipeg June 29, 1966. It is so great to see this video. St. B still looks the same as well as the outside of the Bay and also the area around the Leg. Portage ave changed a lot due to Portage Place. Thanks for posting this I really enjoyed it.

  • Actually, I'm almost certain the interior shots were from Eaton's. I recognize the clocks.

  • @coreyq Cool! I wasn't sure to be honest, so I just took my best guess :)
