whoops, it is ILLEGAL, its not UNLAWFUL however
from what i understand (please correct me, in a rude way if you choose :P) provided you dont contract with them by giving the name and d.o.b of your "person" you are not agreeing to contract with them
i believe in equality among the people and a peaceful society, we still dont have that after how many years of putting trust into the system things just keep getting worse, somethings not right.

They are called Officers, because A: It sounds childish to say, 'Excuse me Policeman/woman.' B: It gets rid of the need to use the phrase 'Police-Person' which is just as ridiculous! Agreed, Statutes are not laws, but made by a lawfully elected Government, they are just as binding. Yes, Common Law is still used, but it's no longer enough on its own.

Your argument doesn't work. Whether you are right or wrong you can't beat the system. Crap system, but it's all we got!, Without it we have anarchy, or dictatorship. In a dictatorship you wouldn't be allowed to stand on that stage and say the things you do. Right? In China you'd be marched away!
You mention part of a Policeman's duties.well, they protect your rights as well as your life and property. If someone steals off you the police should ignore it? Don't think so!
