cancellare is best in the world on cobbelstone, and he was the world champion in TT. and you think its wierd that he can do that?... you must be dumb to belive that God uses a motor in his bike...
I have 20 years training, i d´ont now is a good translation sorrys.
It is totally impossible to climb so high a curve with that facility. Boonen is in full swing, and it leaves behind Cancellara necessarily a difficult diregir superhuman strength to those skilled in cycling. Boonen will not be discouraged by fatigue, very tired but Boonen goes entirely to the summit and Cancellara passes as if strolling tourist.
Oh well this year has proven it, doesn't it? In this year's Roubaix and Flandres, riders couldn't get bikes from outside the race, only the ones they were using and the ones on the team car (which all were checked before and after the race). Still, Cancellara got 3rd on Flandres (after riding for more than 30 km alone and mantaining a 1+ minute gap to a peloton chasing him with full teams, such as BMC it was?) and was again the strongest in Roubaix (despite not winning). That proves it, huh?
@sapher974 It wouldn't have to give the torque to climb a hill, only a boost at natural pedaling cadences. .25 HP would easily help a fit rider pass other bikes.
Eh? "4 Watts - a huge advantage" are you nuts? these guys will be putting out ~ 350-500W all the way up a climb. The motor part is technically feasable. The battery size (shown), however, would 'assist' for about 10 seconds at full chat before it was flat (unless it included some kind of minaturised nuclear power plant that has been secretly developed ,and hidden from the major global powers, by a bicycle component manufacturer). Get a grip folks. These guys are modern day Gladiators.
4:46. Well done for spotting him changing the gear. Surprise surprise the gear shift for SRAM is behind the brake lever and requires index/middle finger to actuate.
:45 secs you can see the guy spinning the pedals with his hands...a well maintained road bike will literally spin for minutes at almost the same speed without any loss...and then the not so clever editing to show the braking.
too bad the people who made this video didn't spend time doing shots that didn't cut away and didn't feature some idiot spinning the pedals with their hands....
great fake! you never see longer whole bike during demostration masterpiece of showing how to fool naive people... and no any photo of mysterious electric engine just simulation
great fake! you never see longer whole bike during demostration masterpiece of showing how to fool naive people... and no any photo of mysterious electric engine
only problem with this is that uci inspection people study and measure each bike inside and out ... they even sometimes take off seat post and handle bars which makes the rider and mechanic pissed but i've seen them do that before... also as far as him attacking in the saddle is generally more efficient than standing up to pedal, attack. i feel to go just as fast with just as much pow while sitting down comparing to standing up.. which most riders notice a power difference when they stand
whose best skill is showing the rate of his stupidity and ignorance !!
Put ur ass out of here and go post ur trolling shit in some video else, maybe on a video about your beloved doped cheaters and your drugged sissies on a baseball field, which is all the americans can do in sports , out of ruining them by their onw presence .....!!!!
What else can you expect from brainless clueless fellows of Epons armstrong, the biggest doped clown and dirtiest cheater in cyclism ( and sports ) history ??!!
Retarded & childish clueless multinicked trolls from USA .....;-) !!
No wonder of their idiocy , get back to your stupid cheated baseball and to your track & field pumped doped wimps , you have nothing to do with cyclism
and any time you try to spell about it, make laugh due to your pathetic ignorance !!
Funny seeing how this amount of stupid comments and ridiculous rubbish come almost all from US nerds who, as usual, pretend to spell their funny bs on every
subject, no matter they know nothing about !!! ;-)
Typical clueless Us cow boys showing their stupid mental attitude and well known wasp " smartness " : of course the americans, biggest doped cheaters and lousy robbers in sports history, have the tendency of protecting and justify
robbers and cheats spelling any sort of idiocies !!
Well we've got to understand these wasp morons : the US brainless cow boys have always been good in 1 thing, cheating and robbing in any sport they disgracefully joined in from track & field to swim, ( they cheated and bitched even their ridiculous stupid baseball and I'm talking since 1919 ..!!! D )
so the cheat of Cancellara's bycicle caught by those cyclism experts id really a kid's trick for them, but I would have never expect such ignorance and lacks of knowing in tech !
It's amazing how he accelerates up hill like that but doesn't even lift his ass off the seat. While the other cyclist is struggling.
It's also completely within the realms of possibility that he's cheating.
Just have the judges monitor him closely a couple races ... if his performance is significantly worse then viola you've proven he's a cheater. If not he's cleared his name.
Getting sick of this! just accept the fact that he's a bloody beast of a cyclist. Those that accuse him of cheating are either idiots or die hard tom boonen fans(dont get me wrong, Tom Boonen is an awesome cyclist! and so is Cancellara)
First learn something about cycling, before you post such a shit again ... and keep cheating on the soccer-field - I guess, that's a only thing, Italy is good in!! Oh sorry, and not to forget ...bakin' Pizza ;)
'cos no inspection is stated x cyclists' bikes : an hour before any race start, the riders get to the starting line point to be registered and to post their signature on the race's sheet . This operation is said in a gergal way " bycicles punching " ,'cos the jury committee also puts the labels with the rider's race number on his bycicle , but no checking control or inspection is made 'cos it's not scheduled upon rules !!
and with a duration of 40 / 50 miles on average speed , and no need to add that you can hide it in a bike's crossbar in whatever way you want !! So don't tell utter nonsenses
and don't post post asinine comments if you have no idea of what you're talking about just to defend or justify a worth heir of King of cheaters
Epons Armstrong .....!!
These are long time expertrs and former riders who know cycling like few in the world .
And don't tell the lie that the bycicles are controlled
a liter bottle " but a common battery just a little bigger than a pocket-size one !!
And to cheat Tour of Flanders, Roubaix and World Championships, you need not more than a few minutes of an electric engine making job in your place to longdistance rivals and rob the victory , not so hard to understand .....;-) !!
And the battery technology can't ABSOLUTELY be a limit , that is an funny, ridiculous , bizarre bs : everyone can easily find 24 / 36 V batteries not bigger than a drawing pen
And how many milliamps is that, lol. Voltage is nothing without the amperage to produce the wattage. Did your 36v pen battery produce 100 watts to even drive your torque-less motor you described.
@G4GBill how many milliamps is that ?? ....Many, since a milliamp is such an really irrelevant quantity ....!
Voltage is nothing without the amperage to produce the voltage ??!! ....DDDD And what the hell does it mean ?? Do you have any idea of what you're talking about or you're just one of the hundreds millions of clueless " experts " who every day spell their senseless & bizarre bs on the web ??
Volt is a unit of measure just like ampere and the wattage is the result of the two phys.
forces . As for " my " 36 or 24 v pen battery ( they sell it anyvhere at cheap prices, just check if you're so uninformed ....) , that would even be too much for a prof ryder's bycicle as said in my prev comment , since an ordinary gel-plombe battery of a common electrobike is 36 V / 12 Ah : you can find it sold on the web here in Europe x 169.00 € ( it's nearly 246.50 in US $ ) and it's not longer than 500 mm .
How many watts does such a battery work with ? At a 20 / 25 mph speed
for 30 mins watts required are 70 / 80 which are exactly the watts of the battery shown in the video .
And I repeat to you that " my battery" not only is prefectly capable to do the job, but it's also available at low prices in the described way !!!
Why clueless web chatters and site's donkeys who are showing as usual not to know nothing of cyclism don't post their trolling crap and their multinicked asinine comments elsewhere ??
Kinda pathetic donkeys , at least learn Tech basics !!
If you check some videos showing Cancellara pushing the button on his left brake lever with no apparent reason and soon after starting one of his not human accelerations, you can logically realize that there's some strange with his fitted bycicle.....
And despite what some clueless dumbs ridiculously say , the video is showing not only that " the technology exists that would allow an electric motor to move a bycicle " but also that it doesn not require at all " a massive battery larger than
Wash up your empty head and get back to your customable crap, 'cos many of you clearly look to be , as usual, the clueless tossers of the web !!! DDD
Don't open your kid's mouth if you don't know anything of cyclism : this video is showing you how a tricked bycicle works and you should learn to use ur eyes 'cos they tell a member of Leopard- Trek team gave them one of Cancellara's bycicles which explains very well his incredible & extraterrestrial
so this year with cramps it took him 5 seconds more to climb the Muur, while Gilbert was 9 seconds faster as fastest this year. Does this mean Gilbert has a motor? And how weak would this motor be to give 5 seconds advantag over climbing the Muur with cramps? Biggest crap ever. If he used a motor, then the first 100km to save energy...
If you think that is true, just get 10 of those engines and batteries, and put it into your car. It would be faster and lighter than any other electric car on the market.
He gear shifters are SRAM RED DOUBLE TAP ,so i did not see the shifter move in that last hill climb and i didnt see the other fella move his hands, an theres no way you sit in your saddle and power away up that last climb getting away from a world class climber!!! Fab was fresh looking at the top an the german was frigged looking!! i am not calling him a cheat at all!
@kristofer962 Two things: Boonen is not a world class climber - he is a classics guy and sprinter. The second thing, Boonen is not German - he is Belgian and was wearing the colors of the national champion.
He's got electronic gears, thats why it seems so easy for him to switch, it has nothing to do with a motor or something like that, and it is obvious that he is accelerating after changing gears, because thats why you change gears!
so no motor in his bike, just two enormous human motors in his legs!

That thing makes a crap load of noise. Any other racer would pick up on it in a second. It's obvious to me that Cancellara was just switching his gears.
its so clear!!!! any serious cyclist will know its impossible to pull away with that kind of accelleration. this cheat doing it sitting down on the saddle .bloody cheat!!!
A guy like Cancellara can probably ouput over 1500 W on a bike. I'm a provincial-level racer and I can output 1000W in a sprint (measured using a PowerTap device). Show me a small engine who could increase a professionnal rider's output by 100W when he's already going above 1000W... That's complete bullshit.
So I can stop that motor with 3 fingers and with the amount of ft lbs of torque required. Think about it how much torque could my 3 fingers produce on the bottom bracket without crankarms oh or are you saying it drives the hub (even worse), and you've added the weight of an extra gearset. Some of us actually have an education, you really should know enough of both industries. Like I said go ahead enter your race and show us your first place finish!
@G4GBill oh shut up, trolling tosser, you're only spelling laughable bs and ridiculous idiocies in your redunddant asinine comments and it's obvious that you're using your accounts trying to give credit to urself like a 7years old little boy !
Not only you showed you don't know anything of cycling, but also you're making lauhg everyone with all your funny bs and ridiculous nonsenses on Electrics and physics !!!
I DO KNOW CYCLING and BYCICLE , you instead are only the typical clueless american
@Trulyloyale LOL, your comments are supposed to be highly intellectual and thought based. Along with your petty insults and well spent time posting meaningless comments on a little watched youtube video forum. You are obviously a young person with a lack of physics. I can guarantee you my ironman time is better even at my age well beyond yours. I live here and train daily "Waikoloa, HI". A mature active intelligent individual wouldn't spend as much time in these posts. I have 2 posts you have?
@G4GBill I ride a bycicle everyday and , like most of northern Italy men, I know cycling since I was in crib ,
my comments are just meaningfull and posted with a bit of knowledge of the subject ( nothing more than this ) which is enough compared the bullshiting comments and ridiculous rubbish spelled from internet cycling experts and clueless chatters like you !!!
I can guarantee you I'm quite at good level and it's for real , so I won't really waste more time trying to explain
to such pathetic trolling nerds as you some Cycling basics, 'cos they can't understand and are too child brains to have the good attitude of LEARNING ......!!!
Keep on posting your multinicked idiocies making a fool of urself and showing all your embarrassing lacks , that's what a retarded & ignorant troll can do as his best .
A mature and brained individual wouldn't spendf his day posting his trolling redundant bs having no idea of the subject !
WOW... I thought it was a joke until I watched the whole video. After seeing the way Cancellara pulled away from Boonen on the cobbles... uphill... I believe it.
Remarkable engineering... But anything that provides power to the pedal is cheating. Reducing friction isn't cheating. THIS is cheating.
Motors aside, 2010 was a pretty boring year for the classics. While I don't think Cancellara had a motor in his bike, I was dismayed and schocked by how easily he rode away from everyone. How does one man gain three minutes on a pursuit team of Pozzato, Flecha, Hushovd, and Boonen? Let's hope 2011 is a bit more interesting and/or everyone comes out to race for first place.
do someone overtake me with such doped bike, he was pushing the button and "zoooooooom" ( that was the sound) while pushing the button, and i am on my roadbike cant keep up with him, he was gone. my opinon is that such a motor/battery on a bike is cheating!
the average speed of such a bike is 40+ km/h, not even a pro on a roadbike cant mess up with such doped bike!
lol, a motor I challenge anyone to use a motor over these distances that would have any effect except negative. The weight of batteries and the motor would have more of a negative effect on on riders of this caliber and bikes of this weight. Even the very best batteries and motor would have a negative effect having to pack it around this far for the slight amount of help. So Laughable the ignorance of these statements!!!! Lifting it off the grouna and I can stop it with one finger lol
For the record, I've passed many cyclists that were standing whilst seated. The trick is higher cadence, full forceful pedal stroke and more aerodynamic position.
You would only need an extra 50-100 watts to have quite a substantial superiority on the competition. A hand held food blender can put out 450 watts - as much as one of these cyclists! That motor was noisy as hell though! It's theoretically possible to do but I'm wondering whether the bikes would be checked by UCI beforehand.
Blender motor's aren't brushless either. Brushless motors are extremely powerful and significantly quieter.
The comparison you just made would be like comparing a Electric engine to a diesel engine - the deisel being your blender of course. It's all about understanding the mechanics and the science, don't just brush it aside because you can't understand it.
The movement on a SRAM shifter is very slight ie to shift to a hard gear you dont have to move the lever that far compared to and easier gear - further, so technically, he has to be moving the gear harder then going faster as a result of that gear change...dont forget Boonen would've been feeling mentally shelled at this as FC was better all the ToFlanders that day - you could see Boonen was tired, slower cadence laboured upper body movements however much he tried to hide them...
This is crazy. Cancellara drifts up on the last wheel of the attack, sees an opening and attacks on his own. Sitting down to accelerate is not "unnatural", it's good, efficient form!
The reaching-down-to-hit -a-button argument is the best, though. Why else would a cyclist ever move his right hand from the top of the bars briefly to the hoods and back?! And accelerate after?! It's almost like he was shifting! Oh. Right.
The famous climb in the tour of Flanders is called "De Muur van Geraardsbergen"...Translated to english that litterally means "The Wall". I invite you all tot try riding it without standing up. Cancellara made the difference sitting down...That's impossible!
@Bullchique Dude, he is a professional cyclist. Do you know what you are talking about? 'Cause I did ride it, and yes, for a normal cyclist it is impossible.
My theory is that this is very possible (sadly) but the bikes must be checked by an official before each race?? The top guys would never get away with doping their bike! Maybe one of the smaller teams would be able to sneak one in but not the top guys.. Just my theory//
@sUpErSoNic19891 ...haha ...seriously??? if you cant hear that motor ...and think that high pitched whining noise is "the sound of the gears"...I'm afraid its you who is the "tard"
Totally plausible! And I would not be a bit surprised if were to be true. Cycling is a cut throat and uber- competitive sport that in the past has had it's fair share of cheaters. And for all the nonbelievers it's called a lithium-ion battery. Ever heard of one? If cyclist go so far as to doc blood do roids and risk their health. What makes you they wouldn't go so far as to put a light weight unseen motor to give them that little edge.
Put down the crack pipe and back away. The technology does not exist that would allow an electric motor to move a bicycle without a massive battery, larger than a liter bottle, for more than a few minutes. Even then, it would be a 40LB bike and good for maybe last at the Giro.
The limiter is battery technology. You couldn't hide one that would offer enough power, no matter how it was configured.
@ZQPYU I agree with that and add to that the amount of power an engine would require to actually accelerate the weight of the rider and overcome the fricional forces that would be present at the speeds that they are going considering that most of the power of a rider travelling over 20mph goes toward overcoming wind resistance. Even with the cyclist pedalling that doesn't compensate for the power that would be needed by the enging. His strokes would only interfere with the gears. This is crap!!
@ZQPYU the engine only need be on at crucial moments. the uci weight limit is heavy these days, and professionals have a good amount of weight to play around with. you also underestimate modern technology.
a couple points: for anyone who says that the motor is loud and would be heard, remember that this is just an example to show feasibility, and it could be solved.
on the other hand, if it was just an electric button, his hand movement wouldn't be so exaggerated like it is for a shift pull
@ZQPYU your joking right mate? lets say you wanted 300w assistance, for the last 20min of a race. bare in mind Armstrongs best was 500w for 20min. so 300 extra watts is no small amount in a race. 300w for 20 min is 100watt hours. A small lipo battery pack of 18v 6ah is around 100 watt hours. Batteries like this are available for $50, weigh 600g and are around 15*5*5 cm, though could be reconfigured to fit inside a frame. not saying it happened, but small, powerful electric assit is easy + light
@sn0wchyld he would also have to pull this extra 600g battery all the way. Plus the motor is another few hundred grams. Plus the free wheel and controller and whatever, you are lugging an extra 1-1.5kg all the way just to get a 20 minute boost. Way more trouble than its worth. Only if your battery is say 500watt hours or so, would it be worth it. And then it becomes too heavy and easily detectable.
@ZQPYU He's cheating! The technology exists and his acceleration is too impressive. Have you ever noticed how much help a small push, up a hill, is? The engine only adds some few Watts but that does quite some difference. Also remember that a Lithium battery is lightweight but offers the best performance available. It could be (and is) easily tugged away inside the saddle-tube. The company is Austrian based and exists. He's cheating!
@hrc1966 you;re fag,,stupid...you name it... you don;t know shit about cycling fatboy, at least eat you fucking chockolatebar and shut your fucking mouth with it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@camaroblackmatte Nice reply. I always fancy an objective and sane discussion. I do know something about bicycling (and find watching it dead boring, riding is fun though) and I know something about psychics Try converting the effect into Watts and see how much an engine would help (ahh, forget it . It requires going to school). In this case a bicycle swap was possible as the bike was inspected only once. After the race no one checked the the bike. And the gadget exists (BTW. Are you Fabian?).
@hrc1966 no bitch, listen DO A FUCKING WORKOUT AND STOP TYPING SHIT;: QUIT SMOKIN' WEED, AN ENGINE IN A BICYCLE FRAME......HA...HA..........GO THROW YOU SORRY FATASS IN A DUMPSTER; PLAYING WARCRAFT OR MARIO WON'T HELP YOU GET BACK IN THE REAL WORLD IF YOU EVER BEEN THERE ... I KNOW A BICYCLE IS A NIGHTMARE FOR A FATASS LIKE YOU, BE BRAVE AND RIDE ONE...WITH A HELMET :))...CAUSE A 6 LITRE ENGINE "ON A FRAME " WON'T SAVE YOUR BIG AS=)))
@ZQPYU The battery and motor does not have to move the bicycle - it only has to ASSIST a rider - a small battery and motor adding 4 watts of power for ten to fifteen minutes on a high gradient climb would give a rider a huge advantage. You're thinking of massive battery packs sustaining a rider for a whole race which isn't needed....
@Apollo2134 Good answer! I am dissapointed that they cheat! People would buy a roubaix thinking , wow, that is a good bike. Buy a Pinarello Dogma, it pisses on Specialized by a mile away.
I Race Alot and train on road racing. When your out of the saddle you primarly use your quads and as a road racer they deplete quickly and you only can stay out of the saddle for only so long w. out completely tearing your quads to shreds. When your in your saddle you can produce more long term sustained power cause you are using nearly all the muscles in your leg in unison.
Although it would be fairly trivial to make a motor system that would be quieter than the bike itself, in a race with cheering spectators and other nearby noisy bicycles, a motor system wouldn't even need to be silent not to be heard. Research RC brushless motor systems and see how much power you can get out of a few ounces of motor, speed control and battery. There's no question this could be done.
This is fantastically stupid. Electric motors and batteries are heavy. They weigh and inspect the bikes. 15 lbs. 16 lbs. 15 lbs. 16 lbs. 20 lbs. 15 lbs.
One of these things is not like the other...
I suppose Red Bull snuck a 3.0 litre engine into their F1 car this year, too.
I fly RC electric gliders. A custom power system weighing a pound or less (motor, battery, ESC, with or w/o gear drive) is totally possible, and would easily fit in a bottom bracket.. Bike racers have a sustained output of 1/3 to 1/2 hp. A silent, gearless 'outrunner' brushless electric motor weighing just a few oz. could be built around the crank axle. Just a fraction of extra hp would be enough in a sprint to win. The LiPo battery and ESC would fit in the seat tube.
@sloperdude Yeah, I did some more research on energy density in batteris and I accept that it's theoretically possible. But I still contend that it's terribly unlikely.
Alright guys come on we all know that your not aloud to change gears or attack while seated these days, clearly he has a motor.....xD Sarcasm win my fail xD
@Johnnykoy are you actually serious??? do you actually know any swiss people? i lived with one for 4 months and he was one of the nicest guys i've ever met.
Cancellara has probably lauphed with this that simple people thought such a stupid things can happen. Listen to his interviews, look how he won everything, Cancellara is really special.. and clear-minded!
Cancellara is a cheating fucking Swiss Prick! The Swiss are renowned for been peevish and selfish anyway. Just ask the Jews about all the money and artefacts etc that the Nazis hid in Swiss bank vaults! I CANT STAND SWISS PEOPLE! As anyone who as ever visited Switzerland or met Swiss tourists will know, the Swiss people are two-faced cunts! A whole nation of poisonous bastards!
maybe a bit silli question but..when they were showing off the motor on the bike u could clearly hear the motor zooming..i know there is quiet much noises there but some ppl should had heare the engine zooming if he used such a engine?
his speed increase looks to be around 10mph (3 x walking) a lot! by anyones standard but by remaining seated? Wow. I imagine if the bike was doped, you wouldn't want to stand whilst the motor was turning as it might pull you forward and off the bike.
In 1990, Shimano introduced their STI shifting levers for road bicycles, which completely integrated the brake lever and shifter" And It has been so ever since. Campagnolo, SRAM, they both work the same.
@brandonlau how come cancellare refuses to answer some simple question like where his bikes went after roubaix and flanders (they dissapeared right after the race), explaining what the fuck he was doing with his fingers (it wasn switching gear, it was clearly something else), explain the extremely rare and strange bikeswitches right before crucial racepoints... he refuses to answer because he finds it ridiculous, i say he refuses because he can't answer
I'm a Big Fun of Cancellara but big but this VIDEO MAKE ME REALLY TO THINK when he Spring always Change hes Hunds Position put attencion to the Other riders Hunds he's the only one who change hands position look like the Bike just Run alone..... Me da mucho que Pensar con las Bisicletas de FABIAN cada Ves que es Acellera canbia la Posicion de las Manos eso simpre ace Pensar que la BISICLETA USA MOTOR CON PILAS. FABIAN i'm a fun of you but let any one check you're Bikes
The title of this hoax is "Bike with engine (doped bike) and Cancellara", but you say it doesn't want to be evidence or proof that Cancellara used it. I think the original nationality of Cancellara or Dekker using dope has nothing to do with this rousing ...
You also have to take the race situation into account: when Cancellara accelerates everybody knows they have about 2 sec to decide. Do I follow him or not? The moment he's 20m away no one has a chance to follow on his own. So you might as well stop and wait for the peloton to catch him together. And since they decided against following, it looks weird because they just stopped accelerating.
If anyone can demonstrate a motor/battery combo that is light enough, small enough, and quiet enough to fit in that small tube, go unnoticed and give a sustained boost of power to a full grown man, they should be introducing it to the world and making millions of dollars, instead of selling it to a bike racer or two.
Say "No" for motor in bikes!! Your legs are engine here and if you are too weak, go buy a motorcycle.. It's sport not some easy going bullshit.

Oh well this year has proven it, doesn't it? In this year's Roubaix and Flandres, riders couldn't get bikes from outside the race, only the ones they were using and the ones on the team car (which all were checked before and after the race). Still, Cancellara got 3rd on Flandres (after riding for more than 30 km alone and mantaining a 1+ minute gap to a peloton chasing him with full teams, such as BMC it was?) and was again the strongest in Roubaix (despite not winning). sapher974 4 months ago
@sapher974 It wouldn't have to give the torque to climb a hill, only a boost at natural pedaling cadences. .25 HP would easily help a fit rider pass other bikes.

only problem with this is that uci inspection people study and measure each bike inside and out ... they even sometimes take off seat post and handle bars which makes the rider and mechanic pissed but i've seen them do that before... also as far as him attacking in the saddle is generally more efficient than standing up to pedal, attack. i feel to go just as fast with just as much pow while sitting down comparing to standing up.. which most riders notice a power difference when they stand

Volt is a unit of measure just like ampere and the wattage is the result of the two phys.
Trulyloyale 9 months ago
Trulyloyale 9 months ago
for 30 mins watts required are 70 / 80 which are exactly the watts of the battery shown in the video .
And I repeat to you that " my battery" not only is prefectly capable to do the job, but it's also available at low prices in the described way !!!

For the record, I've passed many cyclists that were standing whilst seated. The trick is higher cadence, full forceful pedal stroke and more aerodynamic position.
TimpBizkit 11 months ago 2
You would only need an extra 50-100 watts to have quite a substantial superiority on the competition. A hand held food blender can put out 450 watts - as much as one of these cyclists! That motor was noisy as hell though! It's theoretically possible to do but I'm wondering whether the bikes would be checked by UCI beforehand.
TimpBizkit 11 months ago
@TimpBizkit
Blender motor's aren't brushless either. Brushless motors are extremely powerful and significantly quieter.
The comparison you just made would be like comparing a Electric engine to a diesel engine - the deisel being your blender of course. It's all about understanding the mechanics and the science, don't just brush it aside because you can't understand it.
chuckcxr 10 months ago
What about a 4 stroke motor on a bike?
"Hey I hear an engine on your bike!!"
"It's nothing.... honest.... I had a lot of brussel sprouts last night and um...."
TimpBizkit 11 months ago

Oh. Right.
oogelebush 11 months ago 3
The famous climb in the tour of Flanders is called "De Muur van Geraardsbergen"...Translated to english that litterally means "The Wall". I invite you all tot try riding it without standing up. Cancellara made the difference sitting down...That's impossible!

ZQPYU 1 year ago 8
@ZQPYU atomic battery ? Technology does exists , but you cant buy it at wallmart
nynomatica22 9 months ago
@ZQPYU I agree with that and add to that the amount of power an engine would require to actually accelerate the weight of the rider and overcome the fricional forces that would be present at the speeds that they are going considering that most of the power of a rider travelling over 20mph goes toward overcoming wind resistance. Even with the cyclist pedalling that doesn't compensate for the power that would be needed by the enging. His strokes would only interfere with the gears. This is crap!!
Draganus 9 months ago
@ZQPYU the engine only need be on at crucial moments. the uci weight limit is heavy these days, and professionals have a good amount of weight to play around with. you also underestimate modern technology.
a couple points: for anyone who says that the motor is loud and would be heard, remember that this is just an example to show feasibility, and it could be solved.
on the other hand, if it was just an electric button, his hand movement wouldn't be so exaggerated like it is for a shift pull
iareshepherd 9 months ago
@ZQPYU your joking right mate? lets say you wanted 300w assistance, for the last 20min of a race. bare in mind Armstrongs best was 500w for 20min. so 300 extra watts is no small amount in a race. 300w for 20 min is 100watt hours. A small lipo battery pack of 18v 6ah is around 100 watt hours. Batteries like this are available for $50, weigh 600g and are around 15*5*5 cm, though could be reconfigured to fit inside a frame. not saying it happened, but small, powerful electric assit is easy + light
sn0wchyld 8 months ago
@sn0wchyld he would also have to pull this extra 600g battery all the way. Plus the motor is another few hundred grams. Plus the free wheel and controller and whatever, you are lugging an extra 1-1.5kg all the way just to get a 20 minute boost. Way more trouble than its worth. Only if your battery is say 500watt hours or so, would it be worth it. And then it becomes too heavy and easily detectable.
powpanda 7 months ago
To think that you replied long after he admitted to cheating and still thought that he had not.
just2cfun 7 months ago
@ZQPYU He's cheating! The technology exists and his acceleration is too impressive. Have you ever noticed how much help a small push, up a hill, is? The engine only adds some few Watts but that does quite some difference. Also remember that a Lithium battery is lightweight but offers the best performance available. It could be (and is) easily tugged away inside the saddle-tube. The company is Austrian based and exists. He's cheating!

Are you Fabian?).

camaroblackmatte 5 months ago
@ZQPYU Apparently you've never heard of or Googled the "Gruber Assist". Find out and then reword your post.
lazurm 6 months ago
@ZQPYU The battery and motor does not have to move the bicycle - it only has to ASSIST a rider - a small battery and motor adding 4 watts of power for ten to fifteen minutes on a high gradient climb would give a rider a huge advantage. You're thinking of massive battery packs sustaining a rider for a whole race which isn't needed....

There's no question this could be done.
sloperdude 1 year ago
It's amazing how silent it is. I can't imagine anyone noticing it in a race.

This is fantastically stupid. Electric motors and batteries are heavy. They weigh and inspect the bikes. 15 lbs. 16 lbs. 15 lbs. 16 lbs. 20 lbs. 15 lbs.
One of these things is not like the other...
I suppose Red Bull snuck a 3.0 litre engine into their F1 car this year, too.
cgates66 1 year ago
@cgates66
The LiPo battery and ESC would fit in the seat tube.
sloperdude 1 year ago
@sloperdude Yeah, I did some more research on energy density in batteris and I accept that it's theoretically possible. But I still contend that it's terribly unlikely.

Losers...This is on a road bike... So how do you add a motor to a TT bike with a very slim seat tube? Morons
tpbanning 1 year ago
his speed increase looks to be around 10mph (3 x walking) a lot! by anyones standard but by remaining seated? Wow. I imagine if the bike was doped, you wouldn't want to stand whilst the motor was turning as it might pull you forward and off the bike.

@devidia
In 1990, Shimano introduced their STI shifting levers for road bicycles, which completely integrated the brake lever and shifter" And It has been so ever since. Campagnolo, SRAM, they both work the same.

from experience i know that once your names comes in the media badly, being a professional cyclist, it means you are guilty
devidia 1 year ago
@devidia -.- I guess that a completely delusional youtube video is technically "The Media" that you are refering to.

@doctor?matteo:
The title of this hoax is "Bike with engine (doped bike) and Cancellara", but you say it doesn't want to be evidence or proof that Cancellara used it. I think the original nationality of Cancellara or Dekker using dope has nothing to do with this rousing ...

Yes, you can plainly see the motor. It's what's known in cylcing lingo as a "strong bastard."

It's bull.
