In material terms, yes, Egypt and its allies lost. But in moral terms, they actually won. The "invincible" Israeli military had been taken by surprise and humiliated. And the super powers had been crippled by the oil embargo. well the first week or so of the war gave egyptions confidence but without the soviet union the israeli army would have finished off the entire 3rd egyption army and reached cario . the beggining of the war went badly for the israeli army but ariel sharon in the end maqnaged to win the day for israel but atleast it gave the egyptions confidence to nagotiate peace on their terms, problem is they should have taken gaza back aswell.

exactly kissinger stoped ariel sharon from destroying the 3rd army and thts because the soviets threatned america with war. Badr was still just 1 battle of 20000 egyptions against 500 israelis tht held off for quite a bit of time considering their numbers.

egypt had 32000 but they didnt all cross at once it was the first wave which consisted of 4000 egyptian infantry men

so forces were reallly matched

plus name another battle except badr that forces wasnt matched or the egyptians wasnt out numbered i dare ya :D battle of suez egyptain civilians were out numbered and they one battle of sinani was 60000 israeli against 5000 egyptians thats when israel won
