  • Yesterday, I had dinner with the daughter of one of these men. He is 90 YO and she doesn't know how to distract him. Since I am a sick historian of WII and a fervent youtuber on that subject, I sent her this thread and many more about the Lancaster and Canadian airmen. I'm sure they're both gonna like it. He was a navigator in that crew of seven and was caught in that very camp after their bomber went down. The world is so small!!!

  • yall been brainwashed so much the little brains ya gots shiny.

  • Very amazing :D the human spirit never ever ever ever give up.

  • Good on the prisioners for trying to escape from the f.......g german b.........s! If I was there, I would attempt to get out also. They did really well considering what the Gestapo were like.

  • 2 hours behind shed-jewel. I love the English way of speaking ;^}

  • Amazing, I wish I had their courage. :(

  • they sould have used the escapers in the Great Escape film (Just Kidding) stead of those young actors cause the originals would have done a better job at acting as them selves (I'm joking the actors did a great Job specialy Attenborugh and McQueen) Keep up the uploads

  • @miniveiw The escapers from the movie are all nearly dead and very very old lol

  • 76 of them were escaped before the Germans caught on. And can you imagine how many soldiers had to be diverted from other assignments to try catch them all? That's what made the 'escape' a success... because the German soldiers it took to find them didn't work on other fronts or assignments that MAY have led to a German victory.
