I remember watching this and constantly asking myself "why is she playing AT ALL?" She was not even moving which against someone like hingis is hopeless. Martina was very embarassed too in her post match interview

Monica was injured and could barely move. She shouldn't have played the match, but the crowd shouldn't have booed because at least she went out there and tried her best despite her lack of movement. That being said, Monica beat Hingis 3 more times after this defeat and at the end of the rivalry it started to get more even, too bad that when Hingis started to go downhill she quickly retired and Monica never got a chance to beat her some more.

@foresure88 You mean FAT Seles is 5-15 against Hingis? Take off 30 pounds from Seles and put them on Hingis (60 pounds difference) and we'll see if Hingis can beat Seles. Monica was a mess after the stabbing, addicted to food, out of shape, yet she still was able to get wins vs everybody.
