nice job!!!!! we are planning to visit switzerland for the first time v soon ..... i guess we will also have to break into a dance sequence on some alpine peak!!!
thats super I loved it. how did you interprete it? did you get translated sub-titles for the song? if thats true then its crazy translating Indian songs lyrics LOL jk.
... quite a few responses are coming from Europe! thats interesting.
I usually google for lyrics. Big thanks to the nice people who translate lyrics for us bollywood fans in the rest of the world! But then you're never really sure they're correct.. Sometimes I use a dictionary to look up single words to be sure. and because I watch enough hindi movies, I slowly know important words like piiche, niiche, kiinche, aaja yaara, soniya, roop di o raniye, patang etc. Actually the other day a indian couple was shopping next to me and I understood at they were talking ;-)
I think it was after 2003 that I regularly saw posters of Indian movies at cinemas here. Probably Monsoon Wedding and Lagaan boosted it a lot. I knew some people who were mad enough to watch these 4-hour monsters, saw some fascinating trailers.. Then one day I wandered aimlessly through a video shop, spotted Dil Se and thought why not.. Well, from the moment when that train started moving with people dancing on top, and my heart started beating to ARRs locomotive breath sound, I was hooked :-)
Hey - this is absolutely awesome! How can you dance in those Skiboots!? Very funny! I also like the outfit of the guy - very authentic ;-) ... I'd say he gets an Oscar for best costume design! And the location is great! Bollywood should shoot movies there! Makes me wanna be there right now!
I'm sure Shahrukh will love it - my housemate did and she's Indian too!
Actually, the skiboots were even necessary because I twisted my ankle 2 weeks ago, without them, I'd done even worse :-) And I borrowed the skis from my sister without asking... hope she's not mad ;-)
The cats say hello! (And "Güschti the farmer" too)
Was not that bad... fortunately there were some sunny hours! And since I only discovered the contest a week ago, we had to be quick in shooting anyway. No time for long rehearsals... next time I'll invest a little time in choreography and practising ;-)
By the way, candost24, your video is great! Among my top 10, I would say! I loved the chaiyya part in the end, because I performed that song two months ago myself, the moves look very familiar ;-) ...
The contest seems to have been initiated by "Yash Raj Films" or let's say those who operate the youtube channel of YRF, one of the major film studios in India. You can see it if you click on the owner of the video "Play the Dance Pe Chance Contest" tho which this video has been posted as a response.

Oh sorry, I start to mix things up. I had "dancemaiden"'s video in mind. You both have very similar dresses. But yours is very good too!
