    But it's an awesome video.

  • I love Jareth and David Bowie

  • Nice use of Labyrinth/'modern' it's really cool! (yay Hoggle!)

  • Nice use of Labyrinth/'modern' it's really cool!

  • @DaniBlndustries lol Exactly!!!! He is soooo pretty!!! =)

  • i think he always has been and still is the sexiest man ever, but he was the absolute sexiest at this point in his life, in my opinon ♥ i miss the crooked teeth too!

  • THE OFFICIAL BEST MUSIC VIDEO EVER.

  • the seven people who disliked this video dont kno tru entertainment

  • Such a timeless song and movie. I feel so blessed to have grown up at a time where this could be part of my childhood. You are so awesome Bowie and I have always admired the character Jareth.

  • JERETH FREAKIN ROX

  • I want his son Duncan Jones to make a sequel from the manga books. As he would make a decent job of it. I love what he did on his film Moon.

  • @bekak1 I've got those. If a movie was made with that plot that would be awesome. I know you can't beat the original but how many of us wanna go back to Labyrinth?

Love it where Hoggle turns up with the match.

  • "Daddy, daddy, get me out of here

    Ha ha I'm underground."

    I love that part :D

  • I reminber my Dad showing my little brother and I this movie when we were very little. Bowie did a fantistic job...then again it is Bowie...so that pretty much goes without saying. The movie is timeless, and the soundtrack is amazeing.

  • Labyrinth?

  • Im a bit older than some of the other youtubers. I was ten when this came out and I went to the pictures twice to see it. They were the days. A quid at the Abbey theatre.

  • If I could favorite this a million times I would. Over and over again.

  • this is in my opinion better than any of his 70s stuff, i`ve always prefered 80s Bowie and he looked alot cooler.

  • i hate youtube! it wont let me listen to my david cuz it dosent wanna load!!! :'(

  • I can't help but think that the person that made Labyrinth was high or something at the time...

  • Anyone who HASN'T seen the Labyrinth fails at life.

  • @DaniBIndustries indeed!!!!!!!

  • @DaniBIndustries very true

  • I see it a David Bowie singing this song from the Jareth's point of view....it is awesome...i love it

  • i love the movie labyrinth.i love this song .they both have meaning

  • Ugh, i wish he sung this as Jareth. Him and those pants were so sexy!

  • Fab!

  • omg this guy can bring 100's of women to their knees and some men as it seems ;) <3 this song, the movie and him :)

  • i love labrinth and i love him

  • Oh god, I love this song.

  • I <3 Bowie :L Only 14 but he is still a Legend in my books :D

  • it was soooooooooooo sad when Jareth flew off into the night as an owl! :'( I didn't want him to go; I wanted him to stay with Sarah! lol :P David Bowie as Jareth is candy for the eye! (well my eyes anyway!) :P

  • Man, I love how they use a ton of muppets from the movie for this music video. :D So awesome!

  • I wanna live underground...

  • why disable embedding are you still so popular that u cant use some good word of mouth advertising?? screw embedding by request.!~!!!!!! losers get a life...

    ssssssssssssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooooottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • No way is that a Skeksi at 3:23????

  • @CircleofShit Sure looks like one, don't it? But it was in Labyrinth in the Dance Magic song (the one that says "Do WHAT?" at the beginning). Its design might be a reference to the skeksis though... wouldn't surprise me, since both Labyrinth and Dark Crystal had the same concept artist.

  • @BabyCharmander The Skeksi wasn't in the Labyrinth, I think your mistaking it for a similar looking ugly goblin lol, unless I'm mistaken? I doubt they'd put a Skeksi in Labyrinth. Still, it was a nice touch in this video lol.

  • @CircleofShit Hm? I never said it was a skeksis, but looking back I wasn't very clear. XD; I meant to say that it was a goblin, but its design was probably a reference to the skeksis from the Dark Crystal.

  • @BabyCharmander Yeh I think you're right, looks remarkably like a Skeksis :) LABYRINTH ROCKS!!! I have a Labyrinth tattoo by the way, thought I'd share that with you lol :)

  • love this song, love the labyrinth!!<3

  • @itsonlyforever234 Diddo...

  • I have no idea hot to even fathom the concept of this video, it's just badass and I love it, like I love the Labyrinth and DAVID BOWIE!!! But I really wonder what this video is trying to say....

  • i love labyrinth.it`s so cool.Jennifer Connely made an awesome Sarah

  • nice use of the "Tunnel of Hands" and "Labyrinth" concept here, but where is Jareth? I mean come on, that's the whole point of this song...being in the Underground!

  • I have never appreciated David Bowie as much as I have since the kids I babysit had me watch "Labyrinth" last week. I liked him beforehand anyway, but I can appreciate him more now!!!

  • It wasn't a massive hit, but I've always thought this is easily one of his best singles.

  • david bowie you are pretty amazing

  • Love Love Love Love Love Him!

  • A codpiece (from Middle English cod, "scrotum") is a covering flap or pouch that attaches to the front of the crotch of men's trousers and usually accentuates the genital area. It was held closed by string ties, buttons, or other methods. It was an important item of European clothing in the 15th and 16th centuries, and is still worn in the modern era in performance costumes for rock music and metal musicians and in the gay leather subculture.

  • Bowie is the absolute king of music, no question.

  • @daddyrizla vero

  • oh. my. god i love this video, i frickin love david bowie hes my hero

  • omg! This video is such a fan fiction waiting to happen! lol, this movie has been one of my absolute favs since I was little! David Bowie rocks!

  • Love the movie. Love David Bowie.

  • I shall never forget this film for as long as I live, and it will never shift from the spot of my most favourite film.

  • I watched Labyrinth over 10 times in 2 weeks.

  • awesome song! omg memories of watchin labyrinth!!! <3 <3 <3

  • I absolutely love him.

  • Everybody has to love Jareth!!!

  • @francealber lol Labyrith reference FTW

  • @francealber I must say David bowie looked soooo good with that jareth hair man~ XD So hawt~!!

  • 3:49 Lol, check Hoggle out

  • I <3 Bowie !! He's sooo SEXY!!

  • XD I wasn't expecting Hoggle n the goblins to appear!

  • I wish there was a karaoke version of "Underground" by David Bowie. If there is one, I'd perform it on karaoke.

  • why why why idid you do so much coke you can even talk right anymore wahaaaa i want my 80s back

  • i love this song, aswell as the movie itself.

  • It's sad he never performs any of the Labyrinth songs live, I see why he doesn't like them much but just once for the fans?

  • This vid was toooo awesome! love the song and Bowie!

  • Haha Hoggle busted a move XD

  • it would have been cool if he changed into Jareth at some point.

  • well he kinda did in a way lol

  • @KrystenLucas Lol, I think this was how he first became King of the Goblins. He came down there, started singing, and they're all like 'Dude, nice', and then he pulls his skin off and gets magical powers. Five minutes later he probably comes back Jareth style and they're all like 'King. You. Now."

  • Comment removed

  • @KrystenLucas that would be awsome even better if it showed them him being made into the goblen king and why he was so evil

  • @KrystenLucas i agree. especially at 3:31, since all the goblins come out.

  • @KrystenLucas Yes it would have!

  • @KrystenLucas oh yeah.. that would would make this video 90 times better.. lolz!!

  • @KrystenLucas I spent the whole video waiting for Sarah to appear as well.

  • @KrystenLucas

i was so expecting that... if only

  • I love you Bowie, Be my friend. We can go for a drink.

  • i wonder if this is to do with how he became the goblin king.

it could be that he found the passage to the labyrinth and then in his mind created the goblins since he does have powers of making illusions etc.

but then again i read somewhere that he has lived in the labyrinth for something like 2 thousand years, and i dont think in roman times they had sewers and eletric lighting etc

  • dude that's such a cool idea!

actually, I'm writing kinda a short book about Labyrinth from Jareth's point of view. I can imagine there would be much more romance in that kind of thing

anyway, do you mind if I use that idea?

  • in a since ive done a paper on this moive the thing is that jarded was in love with the girl giveing her her every wish but he was so used to being in power that he couldnt have her she wanted to go into her fantisy shedid she wanted the baby gone she got it she wanted help though the labranth she got it i mean everything she wanted she got tell you what i wount leave but a man is measured with what he does with power (plato)

  • @tzerokool his name is Jareth not jarded fyi

  • @1990mdd this is how he came to be if you read the book but you have to rember the labyrith is a timless place so he in his self in the labyrith is god thats why he was scard of sarh he new she was from a different world but yet loved her and new he had no power over her

  • @tzerokool What book is this and where the hell can I get it?!?!??! :D:D:D:D

  • @ilikecheetosevenmore he was in graphic novels and made a few little things but his big break was in neil gamens sandman graphic novel i cant rember the issue but the hole plot is he come to earth to find his true love forgoten in time aka jennifer connely and battles evil useing the crystal balls to make a dream world and travel though there dreams trying to find her the reson i know its the labyrinth is i though it sounded like it and looked it up plus he has flash backs of the moive

  • @tzerokool so... you're telling me that this show him basically creating the Labyrinth in order to lure her to him... How classy XD

  • @ilikecheetosevenmore make it even more to that not only did he create the labyrinth but he can create anything in sandman he is the god of dreams so yes but when she finds out its a dream that he created for her relizeing its her dream she has the power not him kinda like when you dream but know its a dream and can do whatever you want

  • In the Labyrinth they put a different part of the song first then after Sara was running home they play the beginning of the song.

  • It was either Bowie or Jagger, weve all seen Jaggers acting abilitys! I love Bowie- He Was The Goblin King

  • ha haa you can catch a pic of him from The Man Who Fell to Earth in here...

  • when bowie was acting in labyrinth, he was a completely different person, there was this big switch in personalities , his acting was superb and im not just saying that because he was a sexy goblin king either, im genuinely confused as to why his acting was not recieved well...he did better than alot of the current actors who unfortunately suck. and the songs he wrote were amazing.

  • @dougheyedbambi I completely agree! He surprised me when I first saw it as a 9 year old. His presence of being the Goblin King made me believe that he actually exists.... and is anyone says otherwise..... Come and see me... PERSONALLY!

  • At 1.23 - Love the montage of all his looks over the years. Need to pause to catch 'em

  • Funny how this video plays like a version of the movie, only with Bowie playing the Jennifer Connelly part!

  • @DwightFry78 explaining how he became Jareth the Goblin King XD

  • You know, I can't imagine how weird this video would be to those who HAVEN'T seen Labyrinth.

  • @mrsuperduck

Wouldn't be too much of a shock considering Bowie's other videos eh? ;)

  • lol yeh.

  • the underground is code for hell btw.

  • Protip: If you chart out the TAB versions of some Bowie songs and play them on your acoustic during a camping trip where some college girls are present, it is a garunteed pass to nookie-ville.

  • @Recovermin Yup! it's so true I'd pounce on a guy if he started singing David Bowie on his guitar! :D

  • I had heard this song a long time ago. I didnt see the Labyrinth until a few months ago. I thought he was singing about the Underground Railroad, lololololol

It sorta makes more sense now I guess.

  • @sonicmandx12 hahahahahahaha! That is so awesome! :D You are too kool! And, yes, I can see how you can portray it that way, so you aren't completely crazy!

  • so HOT!

  • luv this song!! & the movie!! =)

  • I LOVE this song and I absolutely adore "Labyrinth." :-)

  • Mmmm, David Bowie was SO hot as Jareth. Didn't appreciate it as much as a kid, but now that I'm an adult I most certainly do.

  • @eternalpeen Well then it's a good thing I am not after his affections =D Considering for one I would never meet him in real life, and second he's too old for me anyways. Thanks for the concern about if he'd like me or not though! =D

  • I though he was really hot in the labyrinth espacially the part when hes at the window in his castle blowing bubbles ahhh that made me melt xD

  • @kissmyglitter I am a 16 year old boy, and David Bowie makes me harder than a diamond in an ice storm. hahaha

  • @ChrisKetterman LOL XD

  • @ChrisKetterman Haha that one's a classic! Love this song and the movie so much!

  • @ChrisKetterman Dude I think I fell in love with you :D (female lol)

  • @kissmyglitter can you say 'codpiece'? ^_^

  • codpiece...

    what's a codpiece?

  • @kissmyglitter i most certaintly concur with your statement lol. and i'm sure i am not the only straight man who can say that lol

  • @kissmyglitter

    he was the perfect choice.

  • @kissmyglitter IMA KID AND I THINK HES HOT D: :D lol. long live David Bowie AND his Hottness ;)

  • @DomiFrique YES AGREED e-e

  • @kissmyglitter here here thats a most deffinant XD

  • This video is obviously modeled after Labyrinth, right? I'm not going nuts? But this song wasn't in it, right? I'm just trying to get my facts right.

  • @HallsvilleForever

there are some parts on the film where you can hear it, at the beginning when Sarah and Merlin are running home for example

  • the song was in the beginning and right at the end, that may be why u dont remember it in the movie. it was in it. ci dont think the whole song was, but parts of it were. ur not going nuts :P

  • Hey, thanks, alaixrocks and TetrisEva! And for those that thumbs downed me.... That was really rude! I've only ever seen the movie once! I was asked to be corrected, and I got the answers I needed. Thanks again, guys.

  • The whole song is played at the end credits.

  • @HallsvilleForever Yeah it was. The opening credits have that song playing in the background.

  • @HallsvilleForever this song was on Labyrinth, when Sarah runs home, from being late, this song is playing.

  • @KeePHoLDiiNGoNxXx Actually, this version of Underground is played at the generic.

  • OMG... David Bowie is so sexy!

  • PLEASE dont let this video leave this came out in the 80s and i loved it and i am now50yr and its still my favorite movie and bowie will always live with me

  • Labyrinth, what a film.

    i love this song too

  • God, heaven...I can't get enough of David Bowie! XD This song rocks!

  • In this period was David Bowie at his nadir, His best period was the 70's.

But Bowie is always good to hear.

  • is it weird that I find him attractive?

    :P

  • If it did, everyone is weird.

  • not at all! He's incredibly sexy :D

  • @ShoutOut159 Actually I think it would be weird if you didn't find him attractive :P

  • @ShoutOut159 Hells to the No! It would be weird if you DIDN'T find him attractive!

  • I always liked this song. I remember when Entertainment Tonite interviewed David Bowie in the studio and there was Luther Vandross, Cissy Houston (Whitney's mom) and the legendary Chaka Khan singing the chorus and background.

Listen closely and you can hear the famous Chaka wail. She's awesome so is David!

  • LOVE THIS SONG! LOVE THIS MOVIE!

One of my first crushes was on Jareth!

My current obsession is on Labyrinth/Jareth/David Bowie!

    lol

My obsessions vary, but Labyrinth/Jareth/David Bowie will most likely be an ongoing one, even when it's not at it's strongest point of obsession....LOL!

  • Ive been showing this movie to alot of ppl lately. Its so horrifying how many ppl have never even heard of it.

  • @YaoiFox-

Oddly enough, I'm getting the opposite reaction. Most of my friends I've mentioned this to say they've either seen it or own it.

Still, even one person who hasn't seen it yet makes me sad.

  • @dragonfly876

Really? Then either your friends are really cool, or mine had no childhood. XD

  • 3:48 SHAKE IT HOGGLE!

  • i love this song and the movie!!:) i own this movie LOL im in love with it hahaha. This video was well made-esp in involving things from labyrinth in it!!

  • When I saw the match, I actually thought it was going to be Sarah holding me. Me and my fangirl ideas lol

I love this song - it's a shame the Labyrinth wasn't well recieved.

  • Did you know Sarah and Jareth we're suppose to kiss in the movie? It was in the script, David even wrote a song for it, called First Kiss. But then some ppl complained that the audience would find it wrong instead of romantic because Sarah is 15 and Jareth is at least over 200. So they cut it from the movie, and David never finished the song. Sucks for Jareth/Sarah fans!!! Damn them!

  • REALLY?! Ugh, that's so dumb that they would cut it! Oh well, thank goodness for Fan Fiction, eh?

  • Agreed. But sometimes even that department lacks a bit. XD Though ive recently found an amazing author who only writes Jareth/Sarah stories. They are all rated Teen and R but none have a sex scene in it. The author is a tease. lol

  • LOL Yeah...I know how that goes...

    Silly fan fiction writers :D

  • I could recommend you a lot of stories with tons of smut <3 lol

A pity how I didn't know anything about this film til I read an author note on a HP fanfiction two months ago... of course now I have the dvd extended version and I've read nearly every fic imaginable =3 And I asure you, there are some mouth watering sex scenes out there!

  • Really? Plz do tell! ^^ Would love to read some yummy scenes. lol

  • In fanfiction(.net) you have PasleyRose, who has nearly 40 stories, all well written and smutty, though her Jareth is angsty and a bit cruel (like Shakespeare's Oberon). Then there are Scattered Logic, Ergott, dansemacabre, Lixxle, K L Morgan, Subtilior (dark-themed), Solea, Pica-la-cynique (and her deviantart account), KnifeEdge and FaeriesMidwife.

Of course, you have to check their favourites too, for there are really good ones hidden among them!

Hope you find this helpful ^^

  • UST

That leaves it up to the fans ;p

(ones who like to see themselves with Jareth, or see Sarah with him ;) ).

  • @jimandsteveadventure Thats what I'm trying to tell myself but at the moment... I am just a little pissed off! It's kina funny on how they thought the audience wouldn't like the kiss... a freaking oxymoron more like it

  • Oh, well. It is supposed to be a kids movie, anyway, so it's not completely necessary to have a kiss. Still...would've been quite awesome.
