The only thing that Dair have in common with Pacey/Joey is that they had an antagonistic relationship at first. Dan is no Pacey...lol Dan wishes he were Pacey! Dan is a Dawson -type. Dan (like Dawson) is safe, dependable, easy going, judgmental...Pacey was far more complex and damaged. Pacey struggled with daddy issues, esteem issues, a temper, constant screw-ups, and the knowledge that girl he loved was perfect for him but deserved better than him - LIKE CHUCK.

@slyn11 Don't insult Pacey. He helped Andie to get better, he challenged Joey in a good way. Not to mention that he loved to be the savior and was mostly a fun character. Chuck is unable to get over his issues and is always stuck in his drama. He brings the worst out of Blair, while Pacey brought the best out of Joey/Andie. Despite some issues and flaws, Pacey was a giver and a good guy, Chuck is selfish and always takes. He is more a weak version of Logan Echolls from VM than a Pacey Witter.

@Naliya1090 I never said Chuck was a Pacey. Just Pacey was the darkest male on Dawson's Creek. The only true dark character on the show was Jen. And actually what Pacey did was inspire Joey to let her hair down and feel free to explore hidden aspects of her personality....to revel in her artistic nature...to take risks. And that is what makes Chuck more comparable to Pacey than Dan. Dan (at this point in time) is not that person for Blair.

@slyn11 Chuck doesn't inspire Blair either. He hasn't been that guy for a long time. He brings out the worst of her (she said so herself). Recently Dan challenged her more ("you're an evil dictator of taste Blair", when he wrote that blog for her... etc). But I'm not sure I totally buy either comparisons, mostly because the dynamic between P/J is nowhere near the one chared by C/B and because while the dynamic between DB is more comparable, the story is not going anywhere right now.

@Naliya1090 Chuck accepts her darkness. She feels he cannot see her light. While I disagree, I think Chuck does see her "light" he just is not sure how to handle it since he feels he is lacking it within himself. Frankly, I think the story for Dan/Blair has stalled because Daniel is not a character that can carry a story. The writers have more fun with Chuck. Dan is good for levity and as a tool to make Chuck react. but Chuck is a classic dark romantic hero...which gives more material.

@Naliya1090 I think Chuck getting Blair into Columbia was pretty damn good. As well as all the support he gave her as she struggled through NYU. But Chuck has his own struggles and demons...he really can't be "the wind beneath her wings" full time. Dan on the other hand, only has to deal with the "normal" challenges of college life and career aspirations. Dan's life won't be forever altered without Blair in it...he will move on and love anew. Chuck may not. Loving Blair has been life changing.

He his a one dimensional caricature which never evolve and never grow and he drag Blair with him since she apparently never allowed to have ONE SL who's not about Chuck Bass. She is sacrificed on his altar and I'm tired of it.

@slyn11 And one last thing before I'm done, the show never showed us Chuck seeing the 'light Blair', never. He brings out the worst out of her (again Blair's word 'I don't like what I've become with you', 'Better be bored than ashamed of myself). So I don't care if you think he 'see her light', it's never have been showed on the show.

@Naliya1090 "you're mine"..is classic romance. Not this wimpy, politically correct version that we see so much today...but classic Gone with the Wind, Jane Eyre type romance. Have you never received a valentine before? One of the most common phrases is "be mine" or "I am yours". That is not about possessing a person as property...but about knowing that someone holds your heart, and you hold theirs. He doesn't want to lose her. Same motivation that Blair had when she outted Eva. CB parallel.

And do you conventionally forget that he sold her out for his hotel ? So yeah... for Chuck Blair is a possession and an emotional punchbag. Oh and GG writers are no Bronte, they just doesn't know how to write C&B properly and organically.

@Naliya1090 I disagree...I think they write Chuck and Blair as the two damaged people they are...Chuck especially. It has never been pretty. And Chuck selling out Blair for his hotel was a direct parallel for earlier that season when Blair used Chuck to try to get chance to give that speech at NYU. Chuck's stakes are higher (he is running a company not student council) but the motivations and manipulations between them are the same. Chair mirror each other. Season 4 is evidence of that.

The simple fact you find Chuck - attempted rapist who emotionally abuse his girlfriend - 'a classic dark romantic heros' say to me that I will never agree with anything you said (this kind of story can be good with a good writing, BTVS had done it with Spike, GG can't do it with Chuck since his actions never have any consequences). So I'm stoping here.

@slyn11r u serious?making blair sleep with his rapist uncle is absolutly not the same that kissing a guy storyline...chuck knew blair could get hurt and didnt care because he was too bussy protecting his hotel chuck is a mess all of him, but blair is such a great character when she is not around him, season 4 until 4x21 proves it. about dan moving on after blair, we cant know yet buy we do know after blair chuck has confess his feelings for 2 different girls so i do think he can love again

No one would have thought that Pacey/Joey would get together but they did and it was one of the best hookups they hated each other at first then become friends and then lovers I Love DAIR and want the same to happen opposites do attract but Dan/Blair are not that opposite as far as academic they are both real smart and obviously like the same movies but in other ways they are it would be so perfect if they become the next supercouple I'm so over chuck

i can see that ....the only thing is that I LOVE Blair and find Joey's personality annoying. THANK GOD that Blair is not like Joey, though Pacey and Dan share some common qualities.

@narusaku4eva1000 unfortunately Blair does have one of Joey's annoying traits - like Joey Blair won't let go of her magnetic connection with Chuck. Joey kept on holding onto Dawson because of their soulmate connection even when Pacey made her so happy. season 4 DC sucked because of that.

@cnanden SING IT SISTA/BROTHA!!! Speak the truth! :))) Unfortunetly it looks like GG is putting Chair back together though, very upset at that. I was initally hesitant (eventhough deep inside i loved it) about Dair cuz i knew the writers were going to mess them up....but then 4.16, 4.17 came and i was swooned very easily. Now i will feel so disappointed in GG if they dont make Dair last for at least half a season. YOU HEAR ME GG....DISAPPOINTED!!!!
