It is clear that Obama did want to change the tone and temperature of partisanship in Washington [ keeping on W.s secretary of defense, appointing a Republican to a cabinet post] and refusing to resort to reconcilaition, a measure which would have sealed the deal on health care months ago, thus giving him time to work on reforming the corrupt practices of Wall St, the vultures whose greed nearly brought this country to complete collapse. Nothing suggests he's learned his lesson.

Obama made a serious mistake by attempting to reach across the aisle to work with the GOP on health care reform. He greatly over-estimated his powers of persuasion and seems to have forgotten that that GOP began purging moderates from their party decades ago, meaning simply that he was immersing his hand in a shark pool of avid conservatives who 1] have never cared about health care reform, doing nothing about when they were in full control and 2] wanted only to see Obama defeated at any price.

The last 8 years of Bush were of expansion of government, fighting unjust wars, deficiets, Big national debt, and increased government regulation on the financial institutions. He forced banks to make loans to people that can't pay it back, just like Clinton did and Obama did when he sued Citibank

In terms of foreign policy, Hitler was intent on expanding his power via the use of military force and towards that end authorized unprecendented expenditures on strenghtening the German military. As anyone with even a cursory acquaintance with recent American history is aware, liberals have been fighting against the military industrial complex since the 60's, while conservatives have consistently supported it.

The association of large military budgets and conservatism doesn't make sense. The communist russians had a HUGE military budget.
If you look at nazi policies they were more aligned with left wing ideology. He was a big government Idealist. One of the reasons he didn't like the communist was because they were slavic and he deemed them inferior to him.
Also the nazi's got their eugenics ideas from progressives in the US in the early 20th cen, not southern conservatives

Its truly insane to associate nazism or facism with conservatism. It doesn't add up. Keep in mind that WW1 Wilson, WW2 roosevelt, Korea eisenhower, Vietnam kennedy, Kosovo clinton, were all wars started by or presided by a democrat in office.
The only "republicans" to start wars were the Bushs. You can even go back to Spanish/American war which was Teddy roosevelt and even though he was a repub his own father and many historians consider him truly a democrat.
Your theory doesn't hold water.

Teddy was not president at that time. His presidency came a few years later. He was a soldier at that time and led the charge up San Quan hill for his fame. Teddy ran as a repub but was actually a progressive as was Wilson. But I couldn't agree more with what you said.
