I can see how he thinks people don't spend as much time on records as they used to but I'm 15, and I do exactly the same thing he does. If I buy a record, I'm going to listen to it and get my money's worth. I've got mates that do the same. I can understand where he's coming from, but generally ones that have good taste in music are the ones that will buy albums and listen to them as art and the masses of people who listen to pop and R&B music are the ones who download individual songs for free.

He's right. Most/some people don't listen through albums the whole way through and skip tracks until the "hit" song.
