How does this video EVEN show bias... Chris Matthew simply asked him questions on social issues that help define a person's political stance: abortion, how much government should be involved in economic issues (in these case, the private sector), etc. The ONLY reason that Matthews brought up the issue of Obama's citizenship or "birther" movement is because Toomey defines himself as a Republican, and that is an issue that 30% Republicans (at least at that time) had with Obama .

The liberal media does use all those "tricks" mentioned below. Have you ever seen the unedited Katie Couric- Sarah Palin interview? I dont like Palin AT ALL, but that interview was doctored so that you didn't hear all of each particular question Palin was asked. This is indeed liberal bias if he doesn't hardball dems. However Chris Mathews' show Hardball is a debate forum whose bias is pretty well defined like the O'Reilly Factor. Where Fox differs is that their actual news reports don't just exhibit selection bias but outright lies, deceit, and very poor journalism if the subject supports the networks position. Consistently reporting "socialized health care" instead of "public option" is beyond selection bias.
I don't think that anyone denies MSNBC is liberal, but they never distort the facts to fit their argument, they don't use trick editing, ambush journalism and they certainly don't issue daily memos on which stories should be covered and how they should be commented on. Some may call this bias, others would call it the truth.
I'm against abortion, gay marriage, and multiple immoral laws that get passed. People want to fuck around, have illigitamate kids in the making, and then negate faults of their doing by negating a possible life of a human being. Not including rape concieved children, but I feel like they should be born too because its still a life, and potentially a life in society. I'm a liberal and I have an answer. Chris Matthews is obviously biased. So is Rachel Maddow, Keith Olberman & whoever else you want to call out. That's not the issue (for me, at least). Personally, I hardly watch hardball. I love Rachel Maddow but only watch her occasionally. Truth is, I trust them. They reveal their sources, admit their mistakes, explain the bases of their opinions, & don't lie to me; as is the case with Fox, which intentionally distorts reality at times. I don't trust fox.

As much as I hate any form of bias in the media, liberal bias is much more bearable than conservative bias. To be honest, I've never understood the political spectrum. I'm pro-choice, pro-capitalism and atheist; I have no idea where that puts me. I think I just have common sense. In the UK, I would be to the "right of centre", in the US, it seems that "right of centre" is quite extreme and Republicans appear crazy to me.

During the bush years MNSBC implemented the same tactics as FOX is now its basically a party war, whose party will make it into office it's sad to see grown men and women making asses of themselves on national tv and in congress everyday. @xxdarkwolfgrrlxx i watch fox because it is humorous, and every once in a while conservatives have a good point. in any case, i try to keep myself as un-biased as possible. being someone with natural liberal tendencies, i watch fox to keep myself on an even keel and for entertainment value (it's pretty humorous to hear what many people in this country believe; for example 67% of republicans believe obama is a muslim, 24% believe that he may in fact be the anti-christ).
How does this video EVEN show bias... Chris Matthew simply asked him questions on social issues that help define a person's political stance: abortion, how much government should be involved in economic issues (in these case, the private sector), etc. The ONLY reason that Matthews brought up the issue of Obama's citizenship or "birther" movement is because Toomey defines himself as a Republican, and that is an issue that 30% Republicans (at least at that time) had with Obama .

This is indeed liberal bias if he doesn't hardball dems. However Chris Mathews' show Hardball is a debate forum whose bias is pretty well defined like the O'Reilly Factor. Where Fox differs is that their actual news reports don't just exhibit selection bias but outright lies, deceit, and very poor journalism if the subject supports the networks position. Consistently reporting "socialized health care" instead of "public option" is beyond selection bias.

I'm a liberal and I have an answer. Chris Matthews is obviously biased. So is Rachel Maddow, Keith Olberman & whoever else you want to call out. That's not the issue (for me, at least). Personally, I hardly watch hardball. I love Rachel Maddow but only watch her occasionally. Truth is, I trust them. I say Toomey did a very good job upholding his issues, while I may not agree with the abortion part I respect his opinions. He seems like one of the few Republicans that doesnt have their heads in their ass and uses hate tactics.
But This isnt an example of Msnbc being biased, it was a discussion, I would say that he stereotyped Toomey into certain Republican guidelines, but thats based on statistics and common views.

As much as I hate any form of bias in the media, liberal bias is much more bearable than conservative bias. To be honest, I've never understood the political spectrum. I'm pro-choice, pro-capitalism and atheist; I have no idea where that puts me. I think I just have common sense. In the UK, I would be to the "right of centre", in the US, it seems that "right of centre" is quite extreme and Republicans appear crazy to me.

Every news station works from some type of bias, you will never find one that is unbiased everytime all the time and news stations that claim they are are liars and blatant ones at that. Personally I find MSNBC and FOX both appaling news sources with their petty arguments against eachother, and their moronic news casts that just spew ridiculous spill about the opposing viewers for hours without actually reporting I don't know the NEWS.

@xxdarkwolfgrrlxx i watch fox because it is humorous, and every once in a while conservatives have a good point. in any case, i try to keep myself as un-biased as possible. being someone with natural liberal tendencies, i watch fox to keep myself on an even keel and for entertainment value (it's pretty humorous to hear what many people in this country believe; for example 67% of republicans believe obama is a muslim, 24% believe that he may in fact be the anti-christ).
