We all do a con job on ourselves in order to rationalize the choices we try to make or our made for us. Scientology just tries to sell a common format or set of terms for it. i guess it strives to make you more consistent or accountable to whatever you define along those terms. It is 1984ish and unnecessary for most of us, but I need something that defines the things that trouble me, so that I can cognize, or move them around in my brain, tag them as it were. That's the appeal of scientology IMO
The reason why the big religions like Judaism/Christianity/Islam aren't called that anymore is that their propagation is entirely due to people who genuinely believe in them, and this has been true for centuries. Scientology, on the other hand, was orchestrated as a ploy for money and fame in the last few _decades_ and so there is no reason to assume good faith of current believers.
@frother I don't agree I think you will find very devout scientologists and Jehovah's Witnesses ( what have they actually witnessed? lol) and Latter Day Saints I don't think they are all out to peddle a racket though indeed that is what they do. A person whose diet is deficient in nitrilosidic foods (those foods rich in Amygdalin, the substance whose molecularity is 1 part: the natural analgesic benzaldehyde, 1 part: hydrogen cyanide, 2 parts: glucose) is incapable of stopping the over-production of malignant cells (cells known as tumorous, trophoblastic, healing, pre-embyonic, anaplastic, neoplastic, neoplastigenic, placental) ergo this person has cancer.
@TheLefthand21 , I was actually trying to avoid finding out about that. I wasn't prepared to hear about his dying.
I hope his spirit persists, much to his suprise and amazement, and he says "well, I'll be damned!"; to which a voice responds "No; your surprise is more than sufficient..."
@b1gr1g Good grief....Another slobbering sycophant... Hitchens and Hubbard made their fortunes the same way. Selling garbage to the willfully ignorant. Real Atheists don't need Christopher Hitchens.
@432ps1 Great point. He made a fortune out of saying God Doesn't Exist a million times over. I don't think Gods exists either, I don't need to pay $20 for a book by some drink sodden posh, fat twat to tell me that.
@richter75 Dollars no, pounds sterling, yes. (I'm English) I used the dollar sign 'cos the majority of Hitchens' fanboys live on that side of the pond.
@richievegas01 Amazing how easy it is to be successful peddling mass market garbage media to Americans isn't it? The Kardashians, Michael Moore, Paris Hilton, blah blah blah, ad nauseum/ad absurdum. Absolutely unbelieveable, and I'm American!

A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexuality and homosexuality. Even non-religious people know this.
The homosexual agenda is not good for anyone, including those who consider themselves "gay".
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have successfully framed themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
An actual STARGATE/PORTAL-THING was caught on film in New Mexico. The footage can be found within the short-film entitled "SUDDEN PORTHOLE", which is parked at the PROJECT CAMELOT YouTube page (it's under the George Noory video).
I'm not selling anything…I'm just trying to spread the word about the unseen-dimensions we find ourselves embedded in.
My BLOG contains peripheral data regarding the movie and is where I reply to the "debunkers" (use search words "SAM ZURICK" & "BLOG"). THANKS!!

Good riddance to the braying jackass Christ' Hitchens who supported the sanctions and the war of pelf against Iraq. [Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: "We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?"; Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it." — "60 Minutes" (5/12/96)]
[“Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order (referring to the 1991 L.A. riot). Tomorrow they will be grateful! The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government.” Henry Kissinger, Bilderberg Conference, Evians, France, 1991]
@PointlessSteel : What must a congregant of atheism (an impossible quandary for sentient Beings) have faith in: his respiratory system; the sun rising; the cohesiveness and sustained molecularity of all things tangible/solid; smoke rising; the expanding nature of freezing liquids; the internal combustion engine; latex; photosynthesis; filter-tipped cigarettes; epoxies, resins & polymers; tetrameters & so forth...
i think anyone who, whether they made the choice to convert or were indoctrinated at birth by their parents/community...anyone who is like this and attempts to free himself from superstitious beliefs should be congratulated and praised...sheding lies and changing your world view is not easy, even less easier for those who are ridiculed by all who disagree...yes i think tom cruise is full of shit w/scientology but i would respect him 1000 times more if he left it then if he never joined to start.
@PointlessSteel In an interview with L Ron's son he says his father was involvd with a black magician by the name of Aliester Crowley. I believe L Ron confirms this in one of his own interviews. Aliester Crowley was the self proclaimed beast, and known as the wickedest man alive for raping children and such. Crowley had heavy influence on LeVay who founded the church of Satan in a hotel in California. Whether or not it was called Satanism back then or not, thats what it was.
@StrehDawg LaVey wasn't influenced that much by mr. Crowley. Said meeting him in person was a great disappointment.
The information I can find on Crowley and Hubbard would indicate they probably never met in person, nor liked each other.
Crowley was not exactly a Satanist, as his views are neither compatible with theistic or LaVeyan Satanism. He was an occultist and is responsible for a few weird groups.
Lastly, Hubbard was not a Satanist or whatever. He was a fraudster or a Scientologist.
@PointlessSteel I suggest you watch the interviews with his son also. Also there are different types/levels of satanism. I'm just going to respectfully disagree with you
@cchris000043 He didn't come up with it to avoid paying taxes and certainly not to prove how absurd religion is. His intentions were far less noble. He wanted power, control, and above all money.
@SJGibbons1000 I'm fairly certain I don't follow. I'm not quoting anyone, so I don't see why I would put my remarks in quotations. One might use quotations to make it clear the encapsulated text is not to be taken literally, but my comments are to be taken literally. Hubbard is on record as saying (amongst many other such statements) that the best way to become a millionaire is to start a religion. There is a biography in the public domain entitled "Bare Faced Messiah". Good read.
@Draslin Power and control over what? You obviously haven`t read any of his books, your cheap comment shows that you know nothing about this great man.
@TheLefthand21 You must be a scientologist or perhaps a fan of dianetics. I can assume one of two things if you are the former, you are just starting out on your bridge to total freedom and haven't figured out that they keep moving the goal posts or you are around OTIII or so and "know" about Xenu. Past this point you're so indoctrinated you honestly believe your saving the world and any means to that end is justified. Fair Game. Don't let the absence of super powers dissuade you.
@TheLefthand21 Power and control over his followers through simple trickery. The training they go through is geared towards getting you thinking a certain way so that their crude lie detector (e-meter) can more easily pick up emotional responses, which they use to hone their questions to get one to open up. They are hijacking the cathartic experience of talking about your problems for large sums of money. Fun fact, those sessions are only private as long as you keep in line.
@controllerbrain I am certain that christianity, islam and the other religions grew out of similar shady beginnings and grew as most rumours and urban legends grow out of proportion and spread.
In the case of islam, the "Joseph Smith" became pretty much a powerful rockstar..while Christianity has benefited many rulers and the papacy.

@432ps1 Great point. He made a fortune out of saying God Doesn't Exist a million times over. I don't think Gods exists either, I don't need to pay $20 for a book by some drink sodden posh, fat twat to tell me that.

Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.

THANKS!!

Fortunately for the world, there has always been the questioning person who searches for reality and truth in order to avoid being misled by myths, ignorance, and authoritarian lies...There are, however, entrenched powers which oppose human yearnings for perfection at almost every turn. -- Richard Kieninger, from the forward to: "5/5/2000 Ice: The Ultimate Disaster" by Richard Noone

L Ron Hubbard was a Satanist, His own Kid says so
StrehDawg 8 months ago 4
@StrehDawg Hubbard was not a Satanist. I know because I am one. Unless you are willing to elaborate on this.
PointlessSteel 3 months ago
@PointlessSteel In an interview with L Ron's son he says his father was involvd with a black magician by the name of Aliester Crowley. I believe L Ron confirms this in one of his own interviews. Aliester Crowley was the self proclaimed beast, and known as the wickedest man alive for raping children and such. Crowley had heavy influence on LeVay who founded the church of Satan in a hotel in California. Whether or not it was called Satanism back then or not, thats what it was.
StrehDawg 3 months ago
@StrehDawg LaVey wasn't influenced that much by mr. Crowley. Said meeting him in person was a great disappointment.
The information I can find on Crowley and Hubbard would indicate they probably never met in person, nor liked each other.
Crowley was not exactly a Satanist, as his views are neither compatible with theistic or LaVeyan Satanism. He was an occultist and is responsible for a few weird groups.
Lastly, Hubbard was not a Satanist or whatever. He was a fraudster or a Scientologist.
PointlessSteel 3 months ago
@PointlessSteel I suggest you watch the interviews with his son also. Also there are different types/levels of satanism. I'm just going to respectfully disagree with you
StrehDawg 3 months ago
Scientology is a goof. Hubbard came up with it to avoid paying taxes and to prove how absurd organized religion is.
cchris000043 8 months ago 2
@cchris000043 He didn't come up with it to avoid paying taxes and certainly not to prove how absurd religion is. His intentions were far less noble. He wanted power, control, and above all money.
Draslin 7 months ago 8
@Draslin Indeed. He either all believed it, or wanted to see how powerful he could become.
PointlessSteel 3 months ago
@Draslin put your remarks in quotations.
SJGibbons1000 1 month ago
@SJGibbons1000 I'm fairly certain I don't follow. I'm not quoting anyone, so I don't see why I would put my remarks in quotations. One might use quotations to make it clear the encapsulated text is not to be taken literally, but my comments are to be taken literally. Hubbard is on record as saying (amongst many other such statements) that the best way to become a millionaire is to start a religion. There is a biography in the public domain entitled "Bare Faced Messiah". Good read.
Draslin 1 month ago
@Draslin Power and control over what? You obviously haven`t read any of his books, your cheap comment shows that you know nothing about this great man.
TheLefthand21 1 month ago
@TheLefthand21 You must be a scientologist or perhaps a fan of dianetics. I can assume one of two things if you are the former, you are just starting out on your bridge to total freedom and haven't figured out that they keep moving the goal posts or you are around OTIII or so and "know" about Xenu. Past this point you're so indoctrinated you honestly believe your saving the world and any means to that end is justified. Fair Game. Don't let the absence of super powers dissuade you.
Draslin 1 month ago
@TheLefthand21 Power and control over his followers through simple trickery. The training they go through is geared towards getting you thinking a certain way so that their crude lie detector (e-meter) can more easily pick up emotional responses, which they use to hone their questions to get one to open up. They are hijacking the cathartic experience of talking about your problems for large sums of money. Fun fact, those sessions are only private as long as you keep in line.

It must be terrible for cruise... How could he remove himself from the scientology
aura and not look more idiotic than he already does? He's chosen the lesser of the
2 evils and decided to "stick" it out and just hope for the best with his endorsement of
scientology, hoping he doesn't look too stupid. Hint..... Drop that shit, condemn it
for what it is and move on!! Then eventually credibility will be restored!
