Yeah, I think the problem is the writing, not Matt. I just watched the entire series one of the new generation, and there is like, a really notable difference.

His character of the Doctor doesn't take anything seriously and there's not as much emotion as there was in series 1-4.

But of course, that isn't Matt's fault. The writing just isn't as good.

David Tennant + Billie Piper were my favourite Doctor and companion, BY FAR.

They are just the cutest couple and I doubt I'll ever prefer anyone to them. <3

I'll tell you why I hate it. It's because it was a complete unnecessary and rediculous. All the Doctor's have never done that. It interferes with the formula of Doctor Who. Like if the Doctor became a woman I'd stop watching the show all together.

@gothamcity29 But it reinforced the idea that the Doctor's a timelord. He isn't human, and that was why he and Rose could never be together. She aged and he didn't. She was the one person who could make him better after the time war. She taught him how to enjoy travelling again. How can you say that is unnecessary? The companions are just as important as the Doctor and if it was the same companion story each time, people would get bored.

I've given this bloke the benefit of the doubt and have come to the conclusion that he cannot act, he is to slow and his facial expressions are limited, expression is one of the doctors biggest features. Way to go BBC have a good show and ruin it! Torchwood was another good show you killed! Matt Smith would be a good Doctor Who's kid but as the Doctor he just plain sucks.
