@McFaintful thats funny, cause I don't remember having ever played a sidequest and yet i've been playing for 30 plus hours. Skyrim is huge, but a good chunk of it is filler. Dark souls always has its focus on one main adventure and is much more entertaining (imo).
@psychofunksoldier02 well the gameplay in skyrim and dark souls is completely different. Souls is more action with the rpg element coming into play with leveling up stats,armor,and weapons. Skyrim is more rpg in the sense of talking to npcs and exploring dungeons, its more based on story and plot then the fighting mechanics. As for Dark Souls difficulty, im not great at games theres plenty i havent been able to beat and i beat Dark Souls and am on my way to beating Demon Souls. i would play both
i also agree that DeS was the harder of the 2, but only because i played it first ( as in when it came out) and therefore had a lot of experience going in to DkS . It seems that DeS is harder in the beginning, but DkS gets harder the farther you go into it, which is how it should be.

This guy clearly doesn't understand much about the game...The classes are slightly different stats-wise but the main difference is the gear they have. If you want to turn a knight into a wizard then it's pretty easy to do so you just increase the correct stats...
@normalguyhere Dark Souls is absolutely incredible, better than Demon Souls in most ways in my opinion. The games are at it's best if you play Demon Souls first and then play Dark Souls, but if you have to choose between the two I would say Dark Souls is the better bang for you buck, as improves upon Demon Souls in many ways, and has a open world instead of linear levels, giving you more freedom. Keep in mind these games are pretty hard, and have a steep learning curve. But it's worth it!
the only SHIT thing about this game is the trophies for weapons, since i can't get some pure stones, i hate % CHANCE...i want to know that if i kill that monster i get that stone....100%......i don't want chance....just like in FFXIII.....after 20+ hours of grinding, i still haven't got a trapezehedron......bullshit >_>.....
Here's all you need to know about Demon's Souls: The game thrives on getting a satisfaction out of overcoming think-fast & huge adversity. Also if you guys can get old king doran's armor his armor is amazing but keep your distance because he will 1 hit kill you.... The sword you get from him... @linux750 This game you have to start from the begining of the level if you die in ninja gaiden you have more checkpoints. But its more than that i cant put my finger on it, but theyre hard in diffrent ways, both really fun games.
@linux750 cant really call the difficulty something, cause 1st NG enemies are kind of "easy" but there traps and things that kills you if you dont know where they are, its on NG+ you have to be a good fighter cause the difficulty raises by 40% and you get "less" experience so its harder to go up a level
@TheOldcountryboy yes you have to clear entire levels in a sitting. there is no pausing there is no quicksave there is no checkpoints. you can open shortcuts though.
@AlecTheConfused yes, you can kill npc's, monsters, and find treasures and aquire armor... and yes, does change your character apearance! SO GO GET THIS GAME NOW!
@trumpetman338 The closest game that i can think of to it is Severance: Blade of Darkness on pc. Zelda has fairly similar combat but it's obviously much easier, being a kiddies game and lacks all the tension of Demon's Souls.

@MyTribalSeed I have the platinum for both CoD WaW and MW 2, and heave beaten all three (Blops, WaW, and MW2) on veteran.
I can honestly say it's not a real difficulty, it's just bullets doing more damage, unlike Demon's Souls which is a true, authentic difficulty that the player can really identify.

@linux750 This game you have to start from the begining of the level if you die in ninja gaiden you have more checkpoints. But its more than that i cant put my finger on it, but theyre hard in diffrent ways, both really fun games.

@linux750 cant really call the difficulty something, cause 1st NG enemies are kind of "easy" but there traps and things that kills you if you dont know where they are, its on NG+ you have to be a good fighter cause the difficulty raises by 40% and you get "less" experience so its harder to go up a level

@TheOldcountryboy after each boss theres a "checkpoint". And after youve completed world 1-1 u can go to 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 and 5-1

@TheOldcountryboy yes you have to clear entire levels in a sitting. there is no pausing there is no quicksave there is no checkpoints. you can open shortcuts though.

@trumpetman338 The closest game that i can think of to it is Severance: Blade of Darkness on pc. Zelda has fairly similar combat but it's obviously much easier, being a kiddies game and lacks all the tension of Demon's Souls.

I realize this is a really old review by Mark, but really...
Don't review this game unless you've gotten to at least NG+++++.
The fact that you only showed the first level of each archstone means you fail. >_>
I've gotten to NG+++++++++ and NG+++++++ on difference accounts, and I still feel like there's still so much to do.
Anyways, Demon's Souls was definitely one of my favorite games. People really fail at it for some reason though. ~_~

This game actually requires this thing called..."skill"....Unlike CoD which only delivers pseudo skill to the player.
We need more games like this, I'm extremely excited for Dark Souls. =D

@Haroids PFT. I've never played call of duty but I would never be so arrogant as to say something like that. Everything requires skill. Knowledge gives one the ability to understand what your doing. Practice makes you skilled in abilities at command and memorization helps you predict the upcoming. demon's souls is a game that has particularly high requirements. Requirements that you meet apparently but they are still high and it would do you well to perceive such a perspective.

Hannah Montana The Movie (the game) requires skill, however, for CoD, it's no skill that a newcomer to the series can't easily acquire within seconds of playing. And this pseudo skill makes all these Machinima kids think they're soooo "1337" when real games, ie Demon's Souls, are leaps ahead of CoD in terms of the difficulty.

@Haroids As someone who has seen plenty of children have difficulty with children's games like the lego series or the old computer kids games like pajama sam I can honestly say that if you have no experience with something prior you really can't jump into it and this would include Call of duty or anything else for that matter. Demon's souls is a hard game but it doesn't make any other game less valid just because it is easier. If one is having fun who are you to judge?

Essentially Mark is misleading everyone as to what this game is about.

@Haroids Thats because its so hard, they dont have any user-friendly capabilities! A difficulty setting would be nice, because your customers shouldnt be FRUSTRATED with a game, that means you need to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. All in all, this game is great it just has these flaws: No difficulty setting, No checkpoints except for maybe one shortcut of a sort. (Not everyone is a hardcore gamer) , You have to D/C from the internet if you want to stay alive, or else people will rape you.

@OneShot77Kills "Needs a difficulty toggle" says the CoD player. Thus strengthening my already strong belief that CoD requires absolutely no skill, only delivering pseudo skill TO the user via auto-aim, OP weapons, and host's advantage.

@Haroids Call of Duty needed skill, back when I played it it was CoD 1, 2 & 4. Something happened, their majority demographic became brain dead. And the series became a home for campers with overpowered kill streaks.

@MyTribalSeed I have the platinum for both CoD WaW and MW 2, and heave beaten all three (Blops, WaW, and MW2) on veteran.
I can honestly say it's not a real difficulty, it's just bullets doing more damage, unlike Demon's Souls which is a true, authentic difficulty that the player can really identify.

@MyTribalSeed No. Online in CoD does NOT require skill to be good. Throw a complete noob to the series in an online game, odds are, he'll be decent...Especially if he a Famas, and even more so if he's the host.
If someone can't do decently in CoD, that person probably has never played a game in his/her life.
CoD is just a casual franchise, it's as simple as that.....It should be treated as one.
