  • nice work : )

  • Are you reading the song?? That makes this vídeo more amazing and doesn't matter your mistakes! Cool RockBandMom!

  • @xXdieguinuzXx Yes, I was reading the sheet music while I played. This was before I learned songs by ear. Thanks! :)

  • @rockbandmom Great!! I really really like this video! and where did you get that sheet? I need to learn this song exactly like the original! :) if you can tell me where i can found that sheet, you'll make me a big favour :)

  • I've been playing for two weeks and I could follow along pretty easily. Except for that part at the end where you wail on the snare.

  • use a little more wrist it will feel much better playing

  • @DrUmMeR941000 Please check out my more current videos. I had only been drumming for 3 months when I recorded this video. Thanks! :)

  • you reading the music .. ?

  • Nice job ---- nice to look at as well!

  • really good for a beignner, right on :D love how you flicked the page with your drumstick

  • holy crap your like a mom and u play drums all my parents do is just chill like a couch patato! lol

  • @myvidzpwn Please check out some of my latest videos. Thanks for watching! :)

  • Wow you have an amazing drumset for a beginner. And really nice cymbals. The high hats sound a little clanky but that could just be the recording. Also very good job. You had some parts a little off. But definitely very close and very good. keep it up

  • Nice cover, its the best one I have seen so far.

  • What kind of head is on the snare? Nice cover!

  • FINALLY, A female drummer, like me (: It's like, everwhere you look, you only find males. Haha. Nice cover. I'll check out more (:

  • well done great playing! Like it ! Thumbs up!! :-)

  • great job for 3 months, try taking a deep breath before playing and let it all out. Relax, play from the wrists. Good time.

  • AMAZING! rock on mom!

  • So cool!! :DD Adopt me:(

  • @alecanedo1 Check out my latest covers. :)

  • good drumming keep up the good work!! :D just try to lower the posture and look more comfortable with your kit :)

  • @gmstokes Thanks! Please check out my latest videos! :)

  • Nicely done!

  • @DarkestInTheDay Thank you! Please check out my latest videos. :)

  • nice cover!

  • @livewarrior967 Thanks! Please check out my latest covers. :)

  • Couple of tips:

play more with your wrists instead of with your arms and keep your elbows closer to your upper body.

  • @desalgelijk Thanks! Please check out my latest covers! :)

  • This is very good for 3 months, nice job :) But don't be scared to hit your drums harder! loosen up a bit and you'll feel much better when playing.

  • @Complicatedd0928 Thank you! Please check out my latest videos! :)

  • i like the "mom" part :}

  • @adamyoungAMANDA Yes, I am a mom of 6! :)

  • @rockbandmom 6? that's insane, how do you survive? I think i'm plenty enough for my parents, they couldn't handle 2 of me. but NICE COVER :D i'm also a drummer :)

  • Good job. Sometimes slower song are hard to keep the meter but you did pretty good. Everyone has there own way of positioning drums and holding sticks. You will find yours and probably change it over time. I've been playing fro 37 years and I change things all the time. I agree with the other post, let the stick bounce do some of the work.

  • @jkp1574 Thanks so much for your input. Please check out my latest covers! :)

  • :D can you be my mom? haha jk

  • hahaha i've been playing aprox two to two and a half yrs, haven't gone beyond buying a new snare head lol not that i cant use them or anythin im just poor :P drums is an expensive instrument!

  • are you sure thats ssheet music and not the rockband screen?

  • I see a K Custom ride? You were playing with amazing cymbals for just a 3 month player! Haha. I JUST now took the plunge and bought 3 A Custom crashes, a set of A Custom hi hats, an A-Custom ride and a K Custom splash - All together it cost me nearly 3,700

  • your playing thim rong

and what r u looking at?

    look at your set!!

  • @omgyoufat I'm reading the sheet music for the song as I play.

  • @omgyoufat dude you dont have to look at ur set when u play, i almost always either play with my eyes closed or look at random things and im still able to hit the drums :)

  • I tend to hold the stick so far down, I don't even hold it fully sometimes. :0 Sometimes I "throw" the stick. Worst time it happened was when I was playing a Gig, and I left go of the stick by accident, and it hit me in the face, and flew to the other side of the stage. Tip- always bring extra sticks. Even in 9 years of playing, I still suck. :3 (no not really, but You're really good!)

  • Haha it's a good cover but you need to get some feel for it. Add some of your own stuff, but other than that it was near perfect. I love how your all stiff then on the snare solo you go loose!

  • hey i am 12 and i play the drums and my teacher tought me this song but i think the ending is hard and the massive snare drum solo thingy hahah and i started a year ago!!!!

  • It's a combination of arms + wrist + fingers. To "feel" wrist action loosen your fingers, too. Just use three fingers. Thumb + index fingers to hold it like a pivot. Third finger to "pull up" on the stick. The trick is you pull the back of the stick up, and the front of the stick goes down. Kinda like a see-saw. Then after striking it will rebound, and let it go the other way. Make sense? Think of dribbling a basketball. Let the stick force will return/rebound back up.

  • @trexinvert Thanks for all your input. I do understand that technique now and have been playing that way for a while. When I recorded this video I had only been playing drums for 3 months. Please check out my latest videos! :)

  • nice song and drum cover but i always mess up on the snare solo after the solo

  • Well done. Like you said it's not a tough song but you played it cleanly and your timing was good. This was one of the first songs I learned also :)

Quick tip though: looks like you're gripping too far toward the base of the sticks.. which produces unnatural and forced bounces and can throw your timing off.

Also like sabap said, less arm, more wrist

Still, good job and keep practicing

  • @facepunch5000 Thanks for your input. Check out my latest videos if you get a chance. :)

  • i hate when people have better gear than u and they have been playing for way shorter haha not dissin u tho good job!

  • awesome cover, for playing for only 3 months, you made it look easy. i know its an easy song, even i can do it! i've only played drums for like 2 months, then quit. but your version is better than mine, i didn't record mine tho.

  • @bloodvein3 Thanks for watching! Check out my latest covers when you get a chance. :)

  • Great job! just a spot of constructive criticism... Use your wrists more and try to keep movement from your forearm to a minimum. This should reduce fatigue after playing a couple of sets in a row and eliminate those unwanted flams that are a bi-product of this motion.

Also, I noticed in watching a couple of your videos that you are experimenting with your grip placement on the sticks. Kudos for that! and keep up the good work !

  • @sabap Thanks for your input! Check out my latest videos when you get a chance. :)

  • COOL!

  • классно играешь молодец!

  • Ive been playing for a month and a half in this video is how i learned this song thanks so much. im thinking about posting a cover sometime soon

  • @TheFreeStuff4LIFE Cool! :)

  • i loe this song!

this was the first song i ever learned

    also u should losein up!!!!!!!

u look like a robot :p get lose and feel the music through you!!

but i love it u did great job :)

  • @JordanWieber I was reading the sheet music for the song while I was playing. :)

  • @rockbandmom well your still awesome! :))

  • try hitting the ride with the bead of your stick it will give you a deeper sound which I think sounds better in rock, but all in all good cover.

  • great for 3 months (: i can play this song too and btw at the rock parts open ur hi hat abit the x's in ur music. ( i have the sheet music too) means to open it abit. this is 2 years ago so you should be phenominal by now (:

  • @CThruWalker Thanks! Please check out my latest videos. I've improved but I still have a lot to learn. :)

  • in the beginning is it 8 hi hat hits or 8 ride hits?

  • @xTxRxExNxTx According the sheet music for the song the beginning hits are on the ride cymbal. :)

  • @rockbandmom okay thanks!!

  • open up the hats in the chorus!!! then u can rock a bit. yay!!!

  • nice song

  • she is really hot

  • you were watching Your son playing Rock band. Yellow, yellow, yellow, red and repeat.

  • Do you have a sheet of music for this song?

If so can you pass it to me :D

  • @monkeyrock789 Yes, I was reading the music for this song when I played it. You can get the same book it's: Hal Leonard-Rock Band Modern Rock Edition-Drum Play Along-Volume 19. :)

  • ooo u one hot mommy...aghagha sick

  • i lose im such a looser -_-

i think i will go to basics again

(sorry for my wrong grammars :D)

  • I think it is absolutely awesome that you started playing drums. Never listen to any negativity and keep rocking! Love it, I hope your family loves it too!

  • @istich27a Thanks for watching, check out my latest videos. :)

  • you seem stiff & try holding ur sticks in match grip position nice set and kepp on rocking out!!!!!!!!!

  • @shnaggy435 I had only been drumming 3 months when I recorded this video and I was reading the sheet music for the song as I played it. :)

  • great job, keep it up!, and don't kid yourself, this song, if played properly, isn't simple. theres a few off beats and extras and you nailed em'. you want easy, play poison, every rose... first song i learned on drums and guitar ( like 22 yrs ago). looking fwd to seeing new vids

  • @Rickara3226 Please go to my channel. I have lots of drum cover videos. I recorded this video after playing the drums for 3 months. I've now been playing for 22 months.

    Thanks for watching! :)

  • Nice job! Try gripping your sticks at the point where they balance. Grab the stick between your index finger and thumb, move the stick until it balances, then grip it with the rest of your hand leaving the finger and thumb at the balance point. This will put your grip just behind the balance point giving you better stick control and, more importantly, less fatigue. It may seem a little harder to play at first but you'll soon see the benefit. Ed

  • @KC0LKG Thanks Ed! :)

  • Great Cover.

Simple, But everyone has to start somewhere.

    Keep them coming!

  • @Josh4Jokes Check out my latest covers. Thanks for watching! :)

  • Great job =) keep it up!

    Loved the page turning xD

  • @Mounlier Thank you! :)

  • What are you watching? Rock band?

  • @Nessi311 No, I'm reading the sheet music for the song. :)

  • @rockbandmom

argh...i know you're a beginner - but honestly even when i started i never read sheet music for covering songs.. you're suppose to play by ear/improvise - if you read sheet music - you're limiting yourself way too much, and theres no feel to it.

  • @SputniksArmy Everyone begins in different ways. If you looked you would see that I only learned my first 3 covers by ear, all the rest I've done by ear.

  • @Nessi311 I thought maybe she was blind. Definitely an odd expression!

  • Kudos for learning to read the music, and super pro points for the page turning. Keep up the great work.

  • @Fharad99 Thanks! Be sure to check out my latest videos! :)

  • Lol u hold ur sticks funny :P

  • just loosen up and it looks like you're holding the sticks too far back don't clinch your fists.

  • what kind of sticks are those?

  • I can't remember exactly, but I think they were Pro-Mark Peter Criss signature series. Right now I use Pro-Mark Rick Latham signature series. :)

  • nice cover mom! :) rock on!

  • Thank you! :)

  • Nice but loosen up! You're as stiff as a robot!

  • I'm reading the sheet music for the song as I play! :)

  • very well done. from watching this i decided to start trying to cover it (although i'ma begginer and play by ear)

  • haha nice! rock on rock band mum! i wish my mum was like you haha!

  • Nice one !

Keep up the good work !

  • Thank you! :)

  • really nicee! congratulations ;)

  • Thanks! :)

  • Great drum cover, i've never heard of this Weezer song before, but yes i am familiar with Weezer(Buddy Holly). I kinda try to keep in touch with whats currently playing top 40 wise anyway & that's the way it's been since the ninties. But i don't know 'em all unless they get overplayed like the BSB's & Nsync. I was really on top pf what's playing back in the Disco era and prior too. My most favorite R&R is probably stuff like Cream, Doors, Petula, Hondels, Boxtops, Troggs, Association, Mindben

  • awesome! but dont forget to let your kids play on it!

  • Excellent for 3 months! :D WOW- I have wanted to be a drummer since I was 19. I took a few lessons, but never bought a kit...maybe it's time :D

  • You know what they say, "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today." Thanks for watching! :)

  • work on the stick technique and dont hold the stick to far back it makes to much work and it can cause a lot of pain after a while but over all good

  • pretty good, keep going.

  • Thank you! :)

  • just a tip....improvize a lil lol tap ur sticks back and forth on the cymble and be cool with it......itll make u look like a blues drummer....and'l make u look badass as a beginner too

  • Great beginneer song to get the hang of it

  • Nice Job Mom :D

  • Thanks! :)

  • really really good.

i want to play drums too.

but i need to buy some lol =D

    was it hard to play?

  • It's an easy song to play if you're a more experienced drummer. It was hard for me at the time because I was just learning. It is a good song for a beginner to try. Thanks for your comment! :)

  • good job and sweet song

  • Thank you! :)

  • Good cover! The only thing I would suggest is holding your sticks a little higher up and just always keep in mind to use your wrist.

  • Thanks! :)

  • nice work(: i just got my drums yesterday and this is gonna be the first song i try to play.

thanks for posting this it might help me learn easier(:

  • Thanks! Best of luck to you! :)

  • How much did that kit cost you? Its really, nice and you do it justice playing so damn good :P

    5*

  • $850.....and thanks. :)

  • nice work! i like the page flip with the stick----smooth operator

  • Thanks! :)

  • How do you record these videos? Do you record you playing and then lay the song over it? Do the drums in the song and your drums mix or do you cut the original drums out?

  • I listen to the song with my headphones as I play. The only thing recorded is my drumming. Then the actual song is laid in through iMovie on my Mac computer. When you hear it all together you will hear my drums along with the actual drums in the song. Some drummers have tracks with the actual drums removed from the song so that you only hear their drums. I haven't been able to get tracks like that. I do like being able to hear the original drums as it helps me play my drums too. :)

  • Yea. I play like that, with my earbuds in. Helps me stay on time. I just gt my drums Wednesday and have been playing Weezer and some White Stripes.

  • o and you should try toxicity by soad. i think people would go ape shit if you did that

  • Haha. Just finished learning that song.

  • very good totaly impressed..... u should loosen up tho , you sem tense, also at 1:20 its open hi hat.

  • for this to be your first song, i think you did really well, considering this was the first song i covered as well. Its deff something to be proud of and i think you will do really well on down the road. keep it up

  • Thanks, I appreciate your input! :)

  • a little minor errors here and there but amazing for your first song! Nice job haha I wish I was here, I am playing like that now after about 2 years of drums. Amazing song choice, really nice job

  • I was reading the music for the song as I played. I never could have done it then without the music. Now I learn all my covers by ear. Thanks for your comment! :)

  • HAHA! WOW! I am impressed. This was really good. I'm just about to start playing the drums, too. I put the down payment on my set today and I have to wait for them to tune them and get all my crap ready to pick up. Stick with it! You are going to be that cool Mom everyone talks about, haha. 5/5.

  • How exciting! I was so excited when I got my kit. Best of luck to you and thanks for your kind comments! :)

  • dude your good.

  • Thanks, dude! ;)

  • Nice cover!

does anybody else see the resemblance between her and michael cera?

  • rele good ..i give u props for playing 3 months and doin this song perfect

  • Thanks, I appreciate that! :)

  • hahaha nice one mom hey check out my videos click on my screen name and check em out i do practically the same thing as you but just a tad bit heavier.

  • You remind me of me when I was at the 3 month mark, which is a good thing. You do look stiff, but trust me as long as you focus you will most certainly become relaxed : ) Drums are an instrument that become more and more fun as you get used to playing and can improvise a lot. Don't ever give up : ) You do well.

  • Thanks for your input, I'm improving every day. Plus when I was playing this song I was reading the music as I played so that also contributed to the 'stiffness'. :)

  • You were a little stiff, but it sounded great!

  • Yes, I think a lot of beginner drummers are probably a little stiff when they play. I gave this my best shot for at the time only playing for 3 months.

  • easy, but its a rockin song

  • Perfect for someone who has only been playing drums for 3 months, like I was when I recorded this song. :)

  • для начала неплохо

  • Use your wrist girl, it would make playing alot easier

  • play with ur wrists not u arms, or ur gonna mess ur arms up

  • hey you doing real good at it but you night want to use more of your wrist to play or your arm will get tired quicker but great job!!

  • Nice cover, however use more wrist and less forearm

  • hey ive been playing drums for 4 years and im having a block party and they want my band to play is this easy to learn in a couple of hours?

  • This is very easy. I could do it and I don't play drums.

  • I guess you would just have to try. I was reading the music for the song when I learned it and played it. I got the music from the Hal Leonard Drum Play-Along, Rockband edition. :)

  • accually its better if u hear the song in stead of tabs and notes but people are different so its how u feel good playing nice job tho

  • Great job, exprecially for a beginner but my only advice would be to loosen up some, have fun with it. You look as if someone is pointing a gun at you ready to shoot you if you mess up haha, but if that is the case good job because your still alive and hit the song spot on.

  • Actually, I'm reading the music for the song as I play it.

  • hey thnks this vid really helped me

i can play this song now too

  • You're welcome! :)

  • Woah youve covered at least half the songs me and my bands covering lol nice choices :D

  • Thanks! :)

  • great great job!!!just one question: are you looking at the notes from rock band while you play?

  • Thank you! I am reading the sheet music for the song from the Hal Leonard Drum Along book, Rockband edition. :)

  • im a drummer too im 7 im really good

  • holy omg your a mom wow your good man omg

  • Thank you! :)

  • nice, this is the second song im going to learn, (first one was 7 nation army from the white stripes), and this video is gonna help a lot to learn this one. i do it on expert in rockband so.. this shouldn't be too hard i hope because it's almost the same hits, just different places lol. great video!

  • Thanks, best of luck to you! :)

  • ahh yes very good song to start with. easy song.

your playing is very good for a beginner. keep it up...

i drum myself soo feel free to ask questions if u like. :)

  • Thank you! :)

  • Great job!
