  • Jesus walked on water.

    Yes rocked on water.

    Yes 1 x 0 Jesus

  • I was at a yes concert at Seaworld two days after the killer whale attack the other year. They said there was one song they wouldn't play and wanted us to guess which one it was. I laughed when my dad figured it out

  • Love Yes but....after a minute or so of this song, I was kinda hoping the waves would sweep the band out to sea.

  • that is one of the most dangerous things I have ever seen , water and electric lethal combination

  • whales are amazing! :) <3

  • From 2:37 onwards the song is kind of ruined for me.

  • @TonyNewman I agree... This song deserves a stronger coda.

  • @TonyNewman yeah i kind of agree

  • GREAT !!!

  • Is that the Birotron Wakeman is playing in the solo?

  • be excellent to each other

  • NUKE the whale!

  • Awesome beard guy (keep forgetting his name)

  • @TheDickstaple Rick Wakeman?

  • Macht diesen Song zu einer Hymne und torpediert Walfang-Schiffe! Niemand muß Walfleisch essen, haben oder brauchts für irgendwas!

  • Should have been a top ten hit. One of their most accessible songs, and one of their strongest statements!

  • love the song. the video is one of the worst. lol

  • @peskypesky if they did the video these days your response would be different, trust me.

  • @UKGameMaster Yes

  • Ah great song, takes me back................

  • factory ships factory workers whale's voice

reason with destiny> ok al dente to the touch

teeth orca penguin zebra black white

  • wow!!!THEY WERE FLOATING ON THE WATER!!! HOW DID THEY DO IT???

  • @daledaddy1 This is YES dude! They can do anything they FUCKING want to! btw Jon looks awesome in those shades

  • @daledaddy1 ha ha :) i was amazed by the fx also

  • @daledaddy1 long live the chroma key!

  • DIG IT

  • bought this my omly yes album in berlin 1978

  • great underrated song, but sucky video.

  • @steeltag and by sucky video you mean awesome, right?

  • This song is so weird and awesome at the same time. I love Steve Howe, but his playing is not very smooth at all. I guess the producer was not in the room when he was recording his solo. What a great theme-Don't kill the Whales.

  • This video is so beautiful

  • Wish it was in HD and the timing was perfect! Sound was off by a nano-second!!

  • YES were way ahead of their time! They were into the environment and vegetarians while most of you were but a gleam in your Daddy's eye.

  • Thou shall not kill da whale !

  • I Guess This Song didn't get through peoples heads because they were still killing animals back then. Now Things are different today. Great Song ! Love Yes !

  • Don't kill anything!!!

  • @JimmyLeeVanDePutte What about politicians, is that ok? ;o)

  • LISTEN TO THE BRILLIANCE OF STEVE HOWE. BEST EVER.

  • kkkkkkkkk

  • Dig it?

  • why watch or comment if u dont like it!!!!!!!, if u check it out with a virgin ear still why say anything negative ,just move on yes is incredible, steve howe outstanding on this song.....a classic and a favorite....peace out!!!!!!!!!

  • all i can say is don't kill the whale!! and i mean it!

  • Stop bashing Yes you damn haters! I grew up with this fantastic timeless incredibly fabulous progressive rock band. Music today sucks and YES is the best rock band ever in history! Forever and ever a fan!!!

  • Should have been the theme song for Wale Wars.

  • @spanieaj Would have been a great choice too, but I think "the world is a vampire" starts every episode off with more meaning in this day & age...

  • "Tormento"

  • Silly!

  • this shit is great!

  • awfuk!

how a great band can make pur epiece of shit !

  • Yes Tormato, o mehor trabalho do Yes.

  • dig itdig it!!!!!

  • Wow, this is precisely the moment that yes went downhill.

Compare this, just try, to the beauty, subtlety, inventiveness, mysteriousness and simple sheer magnificence of CTTE and relayer. Then watch this. Just try.

  • @jamma246 I do all the time, and I see no "downhill" in Tormato. The band has continued to release amazing songs all the way up through Magnification, and I can't wait to see how the next album sounds.

  • @jamma246 I think this is a great song. Just a different era!

  • You're first I'm last You're thirst I'm asked to justify Killing our last heaven beast Don't hunt the whale In beauty Vision Do we Offer much If we reason with destiny, gonna lose our touch Don't kill the whale ... Rejoice They sing They worship their own space In a moment of love, they will die for their grace Don't kill the whale If time will allow We will judge all who came In the wake of our new age to stand for the frail Don't kill the whale
  • Why don't more music artists speak out for the animals? All people know how to write about is getting or losing love. Good for Yes for caring and trying.

  • Excelente album.

Por que os cretinos não comem capim ao invés de Baleias.

Meu Amigo Beto Bacamarte é que está certo: 90% dos humanos não prestam.

  • Too bad this album had really bad quality, even the older ones; close to the edge and roundabout had better quality, but the songs in tormato still rocked as hell! Check out the Montreux version of Don't kill the whale for instance, sounds absolutely fantastic!

  • dude. don't kill the @#$% whale.

The bass line is very exelent..

  • Tormato is my favourite albun of Yes

  • tosco

  • I didn't know Yes wrote a song for rosie o donnel!

  • I saw Yes In The Round twice 17 days apart for the Tormato Tour! It was fantastic!

  • This is offensive against Eskimos hunting whales in Alaska. We are entitled to blame Italian for their eating pastas?

  • @Kaleidoscorp Well pastas isn't a threatened species. It's flour and eggs. There aren't many whales back, you can't compare those things.

  • It probably took them a long time to dry out their instruments after this. "Don't kill the whale.....shoot the seal."--Cheech Marin.

  • i think that John Frusciante was inspired intro of this song and then compose leverage of space

  • NICKED THE SOUND FROM MIKE OLDFIELD.

    FANTASTIC BASS THOUGH

  • Awesome!

  • impresionante cancion .....

  • is this disco Yes?

  • there be whales here Spock, Great song, had to be done. It was the 80's!!! hence the Spock joke, Star Trek lV. loved it then , love it today!!!!

  • 7 people suck the whale's dick.... this song rocks....Tormato rocks....

  • 7 people suck the whale's dick.... this song rocks....

  • wonder how they keep the saltwater outta their guitarz...

  • Am i the only one who thinks that steve howe lacks good guitar sound on this one?

  • @Vantage94 kinda loud, but the dude's a master tho.

  • Have not heard this for years thanks for posting.

  • I already watched this clip back in 1999 and the guitar/bass/vocals killz and the keyboards parts are really great.

  • long life tormato and keyboard solo at 2:07

  • for those who say bass should not use any effects....love the Man!!

  • Prog Disco.

  • @myownservant Really?

  • First yes song I ever heard fuck i love the bass!

  • This is a video before there were videos! MTV wasn't even a thought in some producer's mind yet! Incredible band with Jon and Rick!

  • Remarkable video, seeing it today: look at Jon's strange outfit ;-)). But definitely one of the many, many unique YES song with a powerful massage. And sure: it is certainly the best band of all times.

  • Heart of the Yaqui -

The desert wilderness world, the mystical world, the flower world, the dream world, and the night world-

Fossil fueled depletion I want NOT which leads to the unknown abyss... Treacherous underworld ?

    Don't kill the WHALE!

  • dam japs keep killing the whales

  • It's just a timing thing, but I can't listen to this song without thinking about the Planet of the Apes.

  • Estes "D"efeitos especiais dos anos 80 são prá acabar.

Se colocar no mute, o Jon Anderson parece o Gilliard.

    (Maldade)

    Adoro a canção.

  • 5 whales disliked this video.

  • when i go to the beach in vancouver i see this in the ocean all the time yes playing above the water

  • @zackjp Try it without smoking grass bro (lol). Just juking.

  • there used to be a video of Astral Traveler on here? what happened to it???

  • GREEN SCREEN but kick ass video and song

  • @tseekr379 - I am NOT simple and you are a fucking asshole. I've heard everything you mention except for "In The Presence Of" and I stand my ground.

  • Anderson looks ludicrous in shades and that appaling shirt, Squire looks like an undertaker, not one of their best vids tho' I love the song, got to 36 in England but the album did not sell, Yes were as big as Floyd in the early 70's but never had a good manager to focus the group on music, GFTO was the last great album, after that petty squabbles over money meant they never recovered, a strong manager would have kept them focused.

  • @tet1963 Yes is great, but I kinda see tham as a poor man's Pink Floyd. I've got all their albums up to Drama, and they kind of changed directions there. I love the album-side-length compositions (Close To The Edge, Tales, Gates of Delirium). GFTO is a good album.

  • @cwtae Wait, so you have all their albums up to Drama, and then that's it? You post that then say you see them (not tham) as a poor man's Pink Floyd!? Are you simple? Pink Floyd is my number one favorite band, all the way through childhood, but you just CAN'T compare these two, they are two completely different machines. Yes is amazing. Listen to Close to the Edge, Awake, Heart of the Sunrise, South Side of the Sky, Siberian Khatru, Starship Troopers, and the more recent In the Presence of.

  • @cwtae ...and we see you as the typical poor and limited in musical taste dumbass that leaves stupid and biased comments on videos of bands with a huge following "meaning no harm" and expects no heated comebacks from its fans. Next time find a better selection of words while referring to the best band of all times.

  • @vivelavidarocka OK. Just my opinion, to which I am entitled. I expected combacks, and wondered how long it would take you clods to bring one on. Poor Man's Pink Floyd - that's the selection of words I have chosen and I will stick by that forever. You're just a pig - ha ha charade you are.

  • @cwtae So you did expect this type of feedback (perverted/desperate kind of attention)..wow!....you must be such a lonely 50 yrs old loser. I pitty you. Hope you get many, many more...Happy holidays man.

  • @vivelavidarocka I don't care what kind of feedback I get. Poor man's Pink Floyd - and that's my final decision. I pitty [sic] you too. Stay the fuck off my page.

  • @cwtae

Then why don't you stay off other people's pages?

  • Thumbs up if you think Tormato is a great and underrated album. Dig it!.

  • @Colddeed Totally agree!! Great album. Pretty weird album cover too. Had to go dig it out of my collection to recall the lyric sheet. Underrated for sure.

  • @Colddeed i think it too. Tormator is a great album, one of my favs with fragile and with close to the ...

  • @Colddeed Every Yes album is an underrated album.

  • Wow...I had no idea that they ever made a video for this song.

Shit, I didn't know they were making ANY Yes videos back in 1978!

Definitely Yes's most underrated song. Probably the catchiest guitar licks Steve Howe ever laid down.

  • Love it

  • Great song but you have to bear in mind two things...the biggest one being how punk music was making this music seem like "dinosaur rock". Also Yes was really on a bit of a downward slide with this album as well and would continue on that slide until 1983.

  • @BODYSLAMwrestling Downward slide??!! LISTEN TO THE YES TORMATO CD WITH EXTRA TRACKS,ALSO TO DRAMA(ALSO WITH EXTRA TRACKS,REL IN 2004) THE BUGGLES WERE ENAMORED AND INFLUENCED BY YES' TORMATO LP,SURE THE KEYS ARE A BIT HIGH,BUT IT WAS EXPERIMENTATION!!! ALSO,"ONWARD" IS HEAVENLY MUSIC BY SQUIRE!!!

  • @ksjoyjespeace

yes, downward slide...this album didn't sell well, and Drama fared even worse. I understand you love these albums and that's fine, but I still stand by my original comment that Yes was definitely losing popularity at the time and history is on my side on this one.

  • @ksjoyjespeace i'll back you up on that!!! ;)

  • This band and song are Amazingg!! It's too bad that they arn't as populare as they deserve to be. Is the Yes still even a band?

  • What about the Last Great American Whale?

  • I know for some people who sees this, they freak out, seeing this band in her first steps towards MTV. but still its a great song !

  • I wouldn't take credit for this video, either. I love Yes but jeez...

  • Thank you for sharing this great video! Let's not harm these magnificent creatures. Instead lets kill (metaphorically, of course) the media whales that continue to censor our music. I buy and continue to buy CDs enough for all of us to continue to enjoy this music. :)

  • Don't Kill The Whale, Kill the Tuna. They're smaller..

  • prog rock at its best :)

  • My dad can play keyboards all right, but he pales next to Rick Wakeman...and Jon's unbelievable vocals??? Always blown away...wish he'd take the shades off, though...what I've seen of his eyes in other vids--they're gorgeous!

  • Now go see cheech and chongs version

  • Kick-ass track. Reminds me of that retarded show Whale Wars. D:

  • yeah we shouldn't hunt any animal to extinction but i don't really care what this song is about. it's one of the best songs i've ever heard. the song could be FOR hunting whales and i'd still listen to it over and over again. i'm just saying. no matter what this song is about, it's flat-out awesome. YES FOREVER!

  • Whales are useless.

  • And we are still killing them.

  • This is so awesome for multiple reasons.

  • OUTSTANDInG

    legend

  • How could you put a piece of meat from these creatures in your mouth, without feeling like a total idiot.

  • YWe know you didn't make this, but in the descriptions you should gice details when this song came out, don't worry we know myou had nothing to do with this great song coming out,lol

  • believe it or not, since this song was written , our whales came back to the province and became one of the biggest summer attraction....

  • Now if only Yes would put out a similar song for the Gulf oil spill...

Good planets are hard to find.

  • my 2 fav things, rock n roll and the beach!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Grandissimo brano.

  • Great posting and hope Chile finally say NO to Japan or anyone else trying to make our country be involved in these crimes !. Leave the animal kingdom alone - care for our noble companion on a fatigued planet.

  • Why isn't THIS the theme song for Whale Wars?

  • Ricks keys are programmed as whale song

  • i love this song

  • They look just like monsters coming out of the sea!

  • I like the LP they tried to do after this one "The Golden Age" also known as the Drunken Paris Sessions of 1979. It's interesting to hear something they did which was left unfinished. The working title "tango" is my favorite tune! A few of the songs were officially released on the expanded edition drama cd.

  • I love Yes, saw the reunion tour in Mountain View California! Amazing to say the least.

  • I do love Yes, but most of their stuff is New Age crap. Still, most music's lyrics is complete crap, at least Yes manages to rock out once and a while. Prog on brothers and sisters. And the potential collective subconscious.

  • i love this song i didn't know it had a video though... this should be the anthem for one of those anti whale hunting thingies =D

  • Ich liebe diesen Song:)

  • I have this song on a 7" single with a picture sleeve I bought in 1978. It has a b-side, "Abilene", which is not on the album.

  • please dont kill that whale in america...

  • Rick Wakeman dá um show.

Agora esse video é muito feio, ainda mais esse visual de Gilliard adotado pelo Jon Anderson.

  • fabulosa cancion. No sabia que tenian un video de ella. Magnifico.

  • dont speak ur language but i think this says its magnificint at the end awesome

  • @psykedelicdude4 Me encanta esta canción = I love this song. OK!!!!!!!!!

  • @psykedelicdude4 Me encanta esta canción= I Love this song. OK !!!

  • Nice song ! sound seems like Mike Oldfield's songs..

  • Are you familiar with mike oldfields ommadawn like celtic/american indian.All-ALL tracks and instruments done by him alone,FYI.Peace2u

  • This song should have been sung in Japanese.

  • @HollywoodWags yeh those japnanese are bad ecological people, killing whales ,is that a great culture??dont let japanese do that,,boicot whale to japan

  • boicot whale to japan? eigo ga wakarimasu ka?

  • this was my first yes album

  • Steve is the Priest of Guitar..

  • Steve Howe is the guitar master

  • Really awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • This is the greatest Yes song that most people have never heard of.

  • @Schueyjr totally agreed im a huge fan and this is by far one of my favorites, i never knew about it till last year though O.o

  • @Schueyjr Totally agree! This song is awesome! If people gave Yes a good listen (while smoking pot lol) they'd appreciate the complexity and creativity of Yes.
