I really admire the talent and time it takes to make or find costumes, dress-up, and study an anime or other type character for cosplay. I never understand why people criticize anyone for their own personal interests and talents! Just imagine how BORING this world would be without people having fun in so many different ways! This was a nice, pleasant video! /thumbs up !

to me, cosplaying is like acting in a play or a musical. It's really fun to go around for a while day dressed up in your favorite character, and acting as that character.

I love cosplay~ I feel like people accept you more when you go to anime conventions and you're really yourself. I mean, When I'm at school I have to be all "Conform to a style and act like this"..But when I go to anime conventions, I feel like I can run around like a psycho, or make a corny joke, and everyone thinks it's cool, instead of "Wow, That girl is so weird."...I really like anime conventions..:3

I'm planning on making a Naruto jacket in school, but to make a Shippuden one, or the earlier one, or a own version of it? I need to make atleast one work with a zipper, one with buttons, and one made by crocheting. (Spelling?) Anyway the jacket is going to say "Dattebayo!" on it. I'm not even sure, how it's going to be done... o.o'

I envy the people that are there. Things like that don't exist where I'm from.... well the closest place is Toronto that's an hour away actualy where there are some conventions but I have no way of getting there.....*sigh*

I have a similar problem, because I'm curvy and most anime girls are skinny, so I intend to cosplay as Final Fantasy X's Lulu.

It's difficult sometimes to find a character you can pass off, but it's worth it when you find one.

Yes some cosplayers have no lives but most of us do. We like anime, but since most americans hate it we have conventions to be other people who have the same interest.

PLus its very fun to dress up like characters, and meeting new ppl at cons.

You forgot to add another reason. You have to be rich i.e. a successful entrepreneur or a highly skilled worker (who of course receive a higher salary than the unskilled ones) to be able to afford the materials for said costume.

XD You don't have to be rich to cosplay! I started in 2002, I was 15 then, and only had learned the basics off sewing and using a sewing machine in primary school. I've thought myself after that. I'm a student and quite poor. But I'm good at saving money and have found a shop who has top quality fabrics/materials/close to anything I need, for a real good price. If you want to cosplay you just need to have a passion for it.

oh and if you go to a convention. don't expect you will see a lot of cosplayer who are as good as adella or the cosplayer in this vid. you will actually see a lot of bad cosplay and a bunch of normal up to good cosplay.

Man, Cosplaying sounds exciting! I'm doing my first cosplay this year with my friend and we're dressing up as our OC (orginal characters we use in fanfictions I've written that feature Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts) and wearing the Organization XIII cloaks. We're not expecting anything big because after all, we're OCs and we just want to have fun. (at Fanime)
