Honestly, the cast recording does NOT do her justice. The colouring is exquisite live and there's just something with the technology that can't record the a certain unique frequency that's in her voice. I only wish I could have seen her in a live performance.
Hmm i love how she purposely pushes the high D in the cadenza a little sharp (up to a D sharp i think?) just to show off a little. And it sounds amazing, almost better then the regular D.
@RaWrZzZz Heh I think she'd agree that when they customized the makeup and costumes to her figure and face for the 1989 Toronto POTO, it was a relief and revelation.
@yonyue Awww, she was beautiful in the canadian production. I will always be a little sore at both her and Claire (my two favourite Christines) for complaining about the silver masquerade costume until Maria Bjornson changed it. >|
@RaWrZzZz I am with you on that one! I loved that costume and they looked great in it. But Claire complained it made her look like Minnie Mouse and Becky thought it tootight for the VERY quick change in the staircase before the Sitzprober scene. Never liked the final costume. Pink and blue. Worse than Aurora in Sleeping BEauty!
@XPRT10R So Claire Moore was the reason for the pink and blue costume?! I always loved the original silver masquerade dress,but I didn't know Claire was the reason they changed it..

do you know the lyrics at the end..."fly away..."? they're different.

@thereisnophantom
Fly away
but when you lie awake
Remember all we used to be
and please promise that sometimes you will think of me
It was from the original set of lyrics, but written after the cast recording, I believe.
There's a recording of Maria Kesselman singing these lyrics somewhere out there too.

@yonyue Those lyrics are so much prettier then the lyrics now. It makes me very sad that they changed them.
