  • @weewheels24 Is your distortion on?

  • @weewheels24 1. is your guitar tuned

    2. yeah he's using a pedal

  • i don't get the ending.. o.o im a slow learner..

  • 0:50-0:56 i dont have a frend to help me with that

  • @keyedoff Do you have an Iphone? If you do theres tuner apps that can help you with that. Other than that he means half step down tune all the strings and tune the top string down to D which would be another half step down. Get a tuner from ebay or amazon they're about £5

  • man very good your are the best

  • Hey marty I saw the same guitar in a store and im thinking of buying it and im wondering whether it is worthit????

  • Man, thanks so much

  • man, this video is just plain wrong. im trying for about 15 minutes now, my guitar is perfectly tuned but his is sounding way different. I don't buy it when you say kurt didn't mind having his playing going wrong. I WANT MY PLAYING TO GO THE ONLY RIGHT WAY !

  • @CaponeFavilla1 dude is drop d

  • @CaponeFavilla1 calm the fuck down if you listened to anything he said you notice that its in drop d flat

  • haha your gonna take the G-STRING here. lol anyway I don't have a guitar yet but when I get one (next month) i will rely on you to teach me :D also I like your vids cause they are funny and easy to understand

  • @jazz130100 You might be bending it too much or too little, because bending a string changes the note you're playing .. Also distortion changes the sound of things so most likely it's both .. But practice different amounts of bend

  • My bend doesnt sound righ can somebody tell me if it's because I'm using an a acoustic instead of an electric or I'm doing it wrong? I'm using the 4th and 5th fret to bend on the g string

  • 0:48 "It's basically a drop D guitar but then everything is down a half step, anyway.. you can have a friend help you with that" aka "fuck you fools I'm not explaining this shit to you"

  • @chicanorick You have to tune it like: Db,Ab,Db,Gb,Bb,Eb.. :)

  • He played so that it matched with his vocals because, (according to captions), "that's what he lied to you." I hate you now, Kurt.

  • The captioning is hilarious

  • Thanks for the help. I am a huge Nirvana fan, and my band F-61 is working on doing a side project as a Nirvana tribute band.

I had the parts down, but was not sure which notes go where.

    Thanks again

  • hahaha, im sorry, but i see that Strat, and all it reminds me of is Wayne's World XD hahahahaha!

btw, thanks Marty, for teaching me this song, ur awesome!!

    NIRVANA FOREVER!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @nvmelden How do you consider yourself a guitar player when you don't even know what a Fender Stratocaster looks like???

  • @saintsaji i knew it was a stratocaster, i just didn't know where he got it from or what specific type. whether if its like a deluxe or something or whether it's a 60s style stratocaster. i agrree that if u dont know what's a stratocaster, its a shame to call urself a nirvana fan and a guitar player

  • @saintsaji like marty explained in another video i just saw that it was a mexican made guitar. i just wasnt sure

  • Can you show the remaining parts of the song

  • I like how Marty always says Hello, as if he was surprised to see we were watching him play the guitar.

  • Isn't it true that any note can be Flat, In Tune, or Sharp? That being said I hate it when someone says they are in E flat tuning. Why would you want to sound flat? Since I'm so picky and must have a good ear, I tune my guitar to D Sharp Sharp. Which is a D sharp tuned sharp. It is not E flat because none of my notes are flat they are sharp, right? Somebody please give me some feedback!

  • Comment removed

  • @saintsaji sounding flat has it's place. and also d sharp sharp doesn't exist. it would either be E or a sharp d sharp which is just out of tune. you can have an in tune flat/sharp note. basically go take IRL lessons and learn about music cuz your post basically screams i dunno what i'm talking about. D sharp is E flat.

  • @cndcrow Thanks for sending your Christmas Greetings. You are right, I should have called it sharp D sharp not D sharp sharp. Sounding flat may have its place but I would rather sound in tune/sharp than flat! Do you really think Kurdt took lessons? What about Hendrix did he need lessons?

  • @saintsaji really comparing yourself to guitar gods?? they didn't need guitar lessons but lessons do help out a lot for us non gods. and sounding sharp is the same as sounding flat just on the other end of the spectrum. neither is better or worse if your playing with people who are in tune because it's still gonna sound bad. and merry christmas! :D

  • @cndcrow I wasn't really comparing myself to anyone. I pretty much play what I like and what sounds good and try not to sound like anybody but myself because every guitarist is usually distinct from one another, right? Like a fingerprint.

  • so long for second part

  • man not alot of people wanna learn

good music from a good teacher

  • Sounds great, thx again. Will there be a solo lesson?

  • He should do Katy Perry teenage dream

Hella girls will line up ta c anyone play it :)

  • hey in part one we must drop a A tuning is it with it possiple part 2 or must i have a second guitarist

  • Nice Phil Collins/Gensis plug... But with Nirvana???

  • cool tshirt

  • Can you please watch me playing guitar in my video and tell me what you think. Also, tell me what you want me to play next. P.S My video also has over stuff but you don't have to watch it. I play Basket Case near the start.

  • PLEASE moré complete easy songs !!! Regards

  • More nirvana i think curt can write songs and play them i love him =]

and seeing you doing this always makes me want to play guitar and learn from you... i like nirvana i hope you can keep continue playing songs of him!

  • lmao 1:58

  • You should more chili pepper songs

  • I loved the super jump at the end XD

  • Hey! Wait! I've got a new complaint. Forever in debt to your priceless advice.

  • thanks a bunch man this is great!

  • thank you so much!! I've been waiting so long for this!!!

  • great song!

  • sus suss sussudio

  • Awesome mate

    Been waiting for this

  • Let's rock and roll baby \,,\ !!!!!!!!!

  • I would TOTALLY get to playing this right now if my f@cking G string wouldn't go out of tune every time I bent it! That seem happens both my Strat and my Ernie Ball/Music Man licensed CP guitar. Actually, I've noticed that tuning in general can be wonky on guitars with Strat-like headstocks, but not on square or triangular. What are your thoufghts on this, Marty?

  • @guilmon182 my les paul used to do that on the g a lot...what i did that seems so far to help fairly well is to use chapstick to grease the portion of the string in the nut (that way the string won't bind and pop out of tune when you apply the extra force by bending) and make sure you do a good job wrapping strings on your tuners..don't know if you are more experienced than that and are way beyond those simple things...but anywho

  • @logipi79 Huh, I've never heard of that before...

  • @guilmon182 ya that is what they sell graphite dust for, to lubricate the nut. sometimes the grooves are too small so some of the strings might get too tight in them and seem as if they are in tune ( because they are but only on the neck side of the nut, on the head side there is a very little bit of slack) and when you bend the string it slips and tightens on the head side but comes out of tune on the necks side...not saying that is for sure your problem just saying it is something to look at.

  • @logipi79 Thanks.

  • @guilmon182 actually its the tuning machines my strat keeps in tune always ive only had it for like 3 weeks but its still in tune try getting new tuning machines

  • @guilmon182 i bet a lot of people have already said this but from what i know about strat style guitars is that when you bend the strings the friction on the string from the nut and vibrato piece and the little thing on the headstock to keep the string down prevents it from going back to normal and the string goes out of tune real easy. lots of stuff you can do. look for this italian dude on youtube named Frudua. he knows all about it.

  • @guilmon182 I don't know what Marty said but what I did was tighten my tuning pegs.

  • @guilmon182 I guess that's pretty annoying. Didn't you try to slide your pointer from the 4th fret to the 5th instead of benting?

  • @guilmon182 I guess that's pretty annoying. Didn't you try to slide your pointer from the 4th fret to the 5th instead of bending?

  • @guilmon182 get a new guitar?

  • @guilmon182 i have a squire stratocaster,and it usually does fine.but i have this acoustic squire that does that,though.

  • @guilmon182 It think you're tuning head is way to loose you should try tightening it but screwing in the little screws on the side of your tuning head

  • @guilmon182 How old r the strings?

  • Your shirt, RULES!

  • yo man do me a favor and to one on awake by godsmack

  • that is badass

  • AWESOME!!! I was searching for it for months!

  • marty your awsome

  • Funny shirt. Phil Collins a?

  • nice,ur 1 damn good guitarist.

  • what if you dont have friends? :P

  • NIRVANA!!! thank you MARTIN!!!!

  • finally marty

  • Im having trouble releasing the bend on the G 4th fret, so it makes the whole sound of it going up and down and it doesn't sound right at all. Any tips?

  • Can u do Rise Against - Hero of war?

  • you keep saying that this is kurt's play style but he didnt write the guitar part for this song.

    dave did

  • @MrLemno1 Nope. Kurt came up with this riff. You must be thinking of Scentless Apprentice off the same album as Heart Shaped Box on In Utero. He aslo wrote some of the lyrics for Scentless Apprentice.

  • And Good one Marty. shame u gave that Fender Jag away Had the perfect sound for this song

  • @DaGuitarlearner69 Kurt played it on a strat...look at the music video;)

  • @tkrisz87 Dude Kurt Played alot of differenz guitars I saw him in concert when I was younger and he was playin a jag Ive seen him on alot of guitars but u r right

  • @tkrisz87 in the music video he is playing a univox mosrite copy strung left handed.

  • can you do a lesson on how to put the guiter into different tuning?

  • @1sparkypower1 Im gonna be giving a digital tuner away soon in a contest so keep an eye out

  • @1sparkypower1 u only have to make the low E to a D, the other strings are in standard tuning ;)

  • @Massigangster wrong it's drop d flat. meaning a step and a half not just one step like drop d.

  • @1sparkypower1 Buy a guitar tuner for 12.99. Tune your guitar into standard tuning. Lower each string halfway to the next note. The fatest string needs to be lowered a whole entire note down then a half a note lower.

  • @1sparkypower1 you got to figger out your guitartuner, there is nothing you can do about it but if you see the EADGBD with the b things you got to figger out how you do that on your tuner

  • @1sparkypower1

Easiest way to drop your guitars tuning is to put a capo on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd fret and then tune the guitar to standard tuning and then remove the capo and you will be tuned down. If you put the capo on the 1sr fret and tune to standard tuning then you will go down 1/2 step, 2nd fret will take you down 1 step, and capo on 3rd will bring you down 1 1/2 step

Every fret is a half step (up to 12th then its a whole note each) but ya hope that helps. just tune your E to D when done

  • @1sparkypower1 yes please!! you are great with the guitar but we want/need a video tu tune the guitar

  • @Queenrocks1997 buy a chromatic tuner they dont cost more than 20 bucks

  • Good and easy song, nice starter song :)

  • not accurate

  • @AdiiiiiSGH It´s grunge man :D chill

  • @Ebeet0FAN Barely.

  • @Ebeet0FAN im not mad XD im just saying he could do it better i know the song already i just wanted to see if he can do it like me =)
