Thanks for your feedback! We actually created this PSA for a class project, and put it on YouTube in the case that someone would be looking for HPV information. You are probably correct in saying that PSAs are not the most effective source of information. However, as you can see from another comment on this page, our PSA was relevant to at least one person, and that in itself is meaningful to us!
Although some people do appreciate and pay attention to PSAs online, the number of views shows that they are not wildly popular videos on YouTube. Because there are no statistics on how these PSAs are implemented into daily life (ie getting HPV shots or refraining from using the word "gay") it's impossible to measure their effectiveness. So as a form of online education PSAs have not been very successful. However, there is a lot of value in having this information
I just want to thank whoever made this PSA. It is the most accurate and informative commercial I have ever seen. I have given a couple of lectures on the prejudices of the HPV awareness campaign... but I think this is so well balanced , I got a little emotional.
Two years ago I was diagnosed with HPV. It's been difficult to watch most campaigns because many provide false information.
