The first phone, HAD to be activated before you could do that, I did try that, But it still required me to plug it in to iTunes, And activate..

The new 3G S models do not require that tho :)

No it will not mess up your iPod Touch. But with any kind of Software modification there is always the chance of something messing up... Mostly recoverable tho. And ziphone's interface is basically the same as the regular iPhone OS, with an installer app added :p

Theres NO way to cancel the activation, If you hit cancel in i Tunes it just goes back to the itunes screen. Its Un Usable unless you activate it, Or Jailbreak it.

no... I dono why you think that... It has all the features of a iPod Touch broken or not. When Jail broken it allows the phone to download stuff form the Installer app. The iPod Touch Can do this too, But that dosent stop the Phone part, In ways it improves it! :D

No, you would still need to get the services. But there cheaper than the iPhones rate plans. So you could get the prices listed at their website, Such as Regular price for the monthly plan, Regular price for texting, Regular Price for Internet. The iPhones rates are higher because Apple has an agreement where they get commission on the monthly service.

Correct, I jail broke mine just so i wouldn't have to fall in to the iPhone Trap. My bill is 20.00 cheaper every month, I didn't sign a new contract, and i didn't pay the sim transfer fee, Total estimated savings of $700.00 (including the Disconnect fee for the 2 year contract) Plus once its jail broken you can download this sim card hack, and the hack will allow ANY sim to work in the iPhone.

once you "jail-break" it, when a software update rolls around......is the iphone still capable of being updated once jailbreaked?

corrupts the software thus causing problems when verifying when updating i dont know! i dont own a iphone lol just taking random jabs

It is! If they haven't released the Jail broken Update yet, Then you can Restore the iPhone to its original software state, And then upgrade it, But then its not jail broken, Currently i have 1.1.4 Jail broken so, Im happy lol.
